WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 15, 2018) - The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) announces the retirement of Griff Straw, CMB, from the teaching faculty of the School of Mortgage Banking (SOMB). Griff, a longtime member of the SOMB Master Faculty and a Faculty Fellow, was the recipient of the MBA's Rosser Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
"After some 37 years of being affiliated with the MBA, I have decided to retire from teaching at the MBA. It has been a singular honor to be associated with this incredible institution," said Straw.
Griff taught his first class at the SOMB in 1981 and since then has been a cornerstone of the SOMB Master Faculty and the CMB Society. Over the years, he has taught hundreds of classes for thousands of students, both here and abroad for MBA, and has been instrumental in sponsoring numerous candidates for the CMB designation.
"We thank Griff for his contributions and commitment to the MBA," said Bob Broeksmit, MBA President and CEO. "Griff has been a mainstay of Master Faculty, bringing his years of expertise on complex issues relating to mortgage banking to generations of graduates."
The MBA thanks Griff for his dedicated years of service and wishes him the best in his well-deserved retirement.
