The housing programs operated by the Rural Housing Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture help ensure access to credit in rural communities across the country, both through direct loans and loan guarantees.
Overview: The Rural Housing Service offers programs to help individuals and families buy, build, or repair homes in rural communities. Because access to credit may be more limited in certain rural areas, RHS programs serve a critical role in the market. MBA supports efforts to provide these programs with the funding and other resources necessary to promote homeownership through all parts of the credit cycle.
