Leveraging the lessons learned from his career at one of the largest banks in the U.S., he has worked with institutions of all sizes in the mortgage space to apply leading tools, optimize their work, and adapt their workforce to the rapidly changing space. His primary areas of focus are technology-driven data provisioning, automation & process improvement, and modeling & analytics.

    Chris is a Partner in Deloitte’s financial services practice with experience serving financial services clients around the world including significant experience with SEC reporting and internal controls over financial reporting.  He has supervised and led audit teams of several public and private financial services companies including banks, mortgage banks, investment funds, business development companies, investment managers, brokerage firms and financial technology companies. Chris also has financial due diligence experience on both domestic and international M&A transactions.

    In a competitive mortgage market where very dollar counts, mortgage companies that are trading loans on a mandatory and/or best efforts basis need to be aware of optimal accounting and prudent pipeline management practices.  This session will address leverage, investment horizon, business strategy, risk policies, target hedge ratios, and financial statement accuracy and transparency.  What’s more, we’ll cover how hedging needs and objectives differ between different institutions (depository banks, REITs and IMBs).

    As a continuation of Unplugged Session I, Session II offers an additional four topics of discussion. Choose between one of the topics listed below and find your table to collaborate with peers in a smaller group setting. Guided by a facilitator, you will brainstorm issues and share experiences. In the last half of the session, a representative from each group will provide a 5 minute summary of your findings and solutions.
