    Christopher M. George, Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association, is the founder, President and CEO of CMG Financial, a privately held Mortgage Bank, headquartered in San Ramon, California. The company conducts business in 50 states and the District of Columbia and holds federal agency lending approvals with HUD, VA, RHS, GNMA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  Founded in 1993, the company is widely known for responsible lending practices, industry and consumer advocacy, market innovation and operational agility. Under George's direction, CMG Financial has developed into a robust firm making its products and services available to the market nationally through three distinct origination channels including wholesale, correspondent and retail lending which also serves the home builder, real estate and credit union communities. CMG Financial offers a variety of home financing solutions including their proprietary products and programs, such as the All In One Home LoanTM, which facilitates faster loan payoff, and HomeFundItTM, to enable buyers to raise their down payment.  In addition to his role at CMG Financial, George has served on the MBA's Board of Directors since 2012, is a member of MBA's Independent Mortgage Bankers Executive Council and MBA's Consumer Affairs Advisory Council, as well as an active member of MBA's advocacy efforts.     Brian Stoffers, CMB, is Chairman-Elect of the Mortgage Bankers Association and Global President, Debt & Structured Finance at CBRE, a Fortune 500 and S&P 500 company headquartered in Los Angeles, and the world's largest commercial real estate services and investment firm. Under his leadership, approximately 180 professionals have originated approximately $300 billion in loan volume since 2007. Additionally, this practice maintains a loan services portfolio of more than $180 billion globally.  Brian has extensive experience in the origination, structuring, placement, closing and servicing of commercial real estate debt for life insurance companies, pension funds, banks, debt funds and loans, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA and Wall Street sources.  Prior to the CB Richard Ellis acquisition of L.J. Melody in 1996, Brian served as senior vice president and Southwest Regional Manager for CB Commercial's mortgage banking division. He began his career with Coldwell Banker Commercial in 1981 and became a senior real estate finance officer in the firm's La Jolla, California, office. Brian currently serves on CBRE's Global Operating Committee.  An active MBA member for more than 25 years, Brian has served in several leadership positions within the organization. He currently serves as 2019 Chairman of MBA's Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Brian also serves on MBA's Executive Committee as well as the Chairman of the Audit Committee and co-chair of the GSE Reform Committee.     Susan Stewart, 2019 MBA Chairman Elect, Chief Executive Officer, SWBC Mortgage

    Susan Stewart is the 2019 MBA Vice Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association and Chief Executive Officer of SWBC Mortgage, a full-service mortgage banking firm headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. She currently serves as a member of MBA’s Board of Directors and is the immediate past Vice-Chair of the MBA’s Residential Board of Governors (RESBOG). Stewart serves on the board of the MBA Opens Doors Foundation (ODF) and both Stewart and SWBC Mortgage have been recognized as Guardian level donors of the organization. She currently serves on MBA’s Consumer Affairs Advisory Council and has previously served on MBA’s Loan Production and Fraud Prevention Committees.



    Kristy Fercho, 2020 Vice Chairman and President of Mortgage, Flagstar Bank

    Kristy Fercho joined Flagstar Bank in 2017 as executive vice president and president of Mortgage. In this capacity, she is responsible for the direction and oversight of all aspects of mortgage and secondary marketing for Flagstar and for the continued expansion of Flagstar’s mortgage business. Flagstar is the nation’s fifth largest bank mortgage originator.  Prior to Flagstar, Fercho spent 15 years with Fannie Mae, ultimately serving as senior vice president, customer delivery executive, responsible for the end-to-end strategy and business performance of all single-family customers in the western United States, representing an acquisition volume of over $300 billion. Her experience in the mortgage industry is broad and deep, covering mortgage originations, fulfillment, risk management, secondary marketing, servicing, technology initiatives, and regulation.  Prior to Fannie Mae, she worked for eight years at PepsiCo, reaching the level of director of Human Resources for several corporate functions worldwide. Fercho began her career at Baxter Healthcare in sales, operations, and HR positions.  Fercho serves on the board of directors of the Mortgage Bankers Association and the Detroit Zoological Society. MReport honored her as one of the Top Women in Housing, Diversity Journal listed her among its Women Worth Watching, National Mortgage Professional Magazine named her to its list of Most Powerful Women, and the Michigan Chronicle selected her for its Women of Excellence recognition.

    A retired Navy Four-Star Admiral, William H. McRaven is best known for changing the world when he commanded the daring operation that brought down Osama bin Laden. Admiral McRaven’s long and impressive Naval career included combat during Desert Storm and both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. He also commanded the troops that captured Saddam Hussein and rescued Captain Phillips.     Robert D. Broeksmit, CMB, President and Chief Executive Officer, Mortgage Bankers Association

    Robert Broeksmit (Bob) is President and CEO of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). Bob is a senior finance executive and corporate officer with a 33-year career in the mortgage sector. He has directed all aspects of lending activities, including marketing, sales, operations, secondary marketing, loan servicing, and default management. He has also served as a mortgage underwriting expert testifying on many large, high-profile cases.

    Prior to joining MBA in 2018, Bob served as President and Chief Operating Officer with Treliant, heading the firm's mortgage litigation support practice and serving diverse financial services clientele including large banks, independent mortgage lenders, community banks, credit unions, and service providers to the mortgage industry. As a Washington-based financial services consultancy, Treliant's mortgage practice included strategic advisory for executive management and corporate boards; litigation defense, including file reviews, litigation strategy, expert reports, and expert testimony; CFPB examination preparation and implementation of mortgage regulations promulgated by the CFPB and other regulators; and operational aspects of mortgage banking, ranging from origination to servicing and loss mitigation.  Before Treliant, Bob held senior leadership positions in the mortgage business, including fourteen years with Chevy Chase Bank (including after its purchase by Capital One), where he was Executive Vice President and President of its B.F. Saul Mortgage Company subsidiary. Bob also was a Vice President at Prudential Home Mortgage for seven years. He has overseen annual originations of $9 billion, a balance sheet of $10 billion in residential mortgages, and a servicing portfolio of $20 billion. He also held positions at Great Western Mortgage, Krupp Residential Mortgage, and The Money Store.  Bob has served as the Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association's Residential Board of Governors and as a member of its Board of Directors. Firms under his leadership have garnered multiple awards for servicing operations excellence, including Freddie Mac's Tier One and Hall of Fame designations. He is a Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) and a graduate of Yale University.

    Admiral William H. McRaven is a retired U.S. Navy Four-Star admiral and the former Chancellor of the University of Texas System. During his time in the military, he commanded special operations forces at every level, eventually taking charge of the U.S. Special Operations Command. His career included combat during Desert Storm and both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. He commanded the troops that captured Saddam Hussein and rescued Captain Phillips. McRaven is also credited with developing the plan and leading the Osama bin Laden mission in 2011.  As the Chancellor of the UT System, he led one of the nation’s largest and most respected systems of higher education. As the chief executive officer of the UT System, McRaven oversaw 14 institutions that educated 220,000 students, and employed 20,000 faculty and more than 80,000 health care professionals, researchers, and staff.  McRaven is a recognized national authority on U.S. foreign policy and has advised Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and other U.S. leaders on defense issues. He currently serves on the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the National Football Foundation, and the Board of Directors of CoconoPhilips.  McRaven has been recognized for his leadership numerous times. In 2011, he was the first runner-up for TIME magazine’s “Person of the Year.” In 2012, Foreign Policy magazine named McRaven one of the nation’s “Top 10 Foreign Policy Experts.” In 2014, Politico magazine named McRaven one of the “Politico 50,” citing his leadership as instrumental in cutting though Washington bureaucracy. In 2015, he received the Intrepid Freedom Award for his distinguished service in defending the values of democracy. In 2016, McRaven was named the recipient of the Ambassador Richard M. Helms Award by the CIA Officers’ Memorial Foundation. This year, 2018, he will be receiving the Judge William H. Webster Distinguished Service Award for a lifetime of service to the nation.  McRaven graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1977 with a degree in Journalism, and received his master’s degree from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey in 1991.  McRaven is the author of two books, SPEC OPS: Case Studies in Special Operations Warfare and Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life and Maybe the World, based on his 2014 UT Commencement Speech that received worldwide attention.  McRaven is now a leadership consultant and stays active with his writing, speaking, and board commitments.

    Senator John Cornyn, (R-TX)

    Sen. Cornyn was born in Houston, Texas, and grew up in San Antonio.  He was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2002 and has earned a national reputation as an articulate and powerful voice for Texas and conservative values in Washington.  Senator Cornyn has dedicated his career to strengthening the economy through lower taxes, reducing federal spending, and fighting job-killing regulations.  In 2006, Senator Cornyn won his third “Hero of the Taxpayer” Award from Americans for Tax Reform.  For his commitment to small businesses in Texas and across the country, the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce named Sen. Cornyn the “Small Business Advocate of the Year” in 2013.  Sen. Cornyn serves on the Senate Finance, Intelligence, and Judiciary Committees.  From 2013 until 2018 Sen. Cornyn was chosen by his colleagues to serve as the Whip, the second-highest ranking position in the Senate Republican Conference.  Sen. Cornyn has served the people of Texas for the last three decades, first as a district judge and later as a member of the Texas Supreme Court and Texas Attorney General. 

    David Sheeler, Executive Vice President, Freedom Mortgage

    David Sheeler serves as Executive Vice President at Freedom Mortgage leading the Correspondent Lending Division since 2014.  Under his leadership the division has significant grown its whole loan presence and launched both Co-Issue and flow MSR acquisition programs.   Mr. Sheeler has held various roles in the mortgage industry including Executive Vice President of Correspondent Lending and branch operations at W.J. Bradley Mortgage Capital and the positions of Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Pricing & Trading Operations Manager in the Correspondent Lending Division of JPMorgan Chase.  David Sheeler has also worked at Countrywide Financial and served in various roles with subsidiaries of BNP Paribas, included Mergers & Acquisition, Divisional Chief Financial Officer, and Director of International Development. He earned a CPA working at Deloitte & Touche LLP in the financial services group.

    Hear from two of Washington’s top voices in housing policy, the U.S. Secretary of Housing, Dr. Ben Carson, and the FHFA Director, Dr. Mark Calabria.

    The Honorable Mark Calabria, Director, Federal Housing Finance Agency

    Dr. Calabria has served as Chief Economist to Vice President Pence since February 2017. Prior to his work in the White House, he was director of financial regulation studies at the Cato Institute. Before joining Cato in 2009, he spent six years as a member of the senior professional staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs where he handled issues related to housing, mortgage finance, economics, banking and insurance for Ranking Member Richard Shelby (R-AL). Prior to his service on Capitol Hill, Calabria served as deputy assistant secretary for regulatory affairs at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and also held a variety of positions at Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies, the National Association of Home Builders, and the National Association of Realtors.  Dr. Calabria has also been a research associate with the U.S. Census Bureau’s Center for Economic Studies. He has extensive experience evaluating the impacts of legislative and regulatory proposals on financial and real estate markets. He holds a doctorate in economics from George Mason University.

    The Honorable Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D., Secretary, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

    On March 2nd, 2017, Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D., was sworn in as the 17th Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  For nearly 30 years, Secretary Carson served as Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, a position he assumed when he was just 33 years old, becoming the youngest major division director in the hospital’s history.   In 1987, he successfully performed the first separation of craniopagus twins conjoined at the back of the head.  He also performed the first fully successful separation of type-2 vertical craniopagus twins in 1997 in South Africa.  Dr. Carson received dozens of honors and awards in recognition of his achievements including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor. He is also a recipient of the Spingarn Medal, the highest honor bestowed by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).  Dr. Carson authored nine books, four of which he co-wrote with his wife Candy.  The U.S. News Media Group and Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership named him among “America’s Best Leaders” in 2008.  Dr. Carson and his wife co-founded the Carson Scholars Fund, which recognizes young people of all backgrounds for exceptional academic and humanitarian accomplishments.  The Fund is currently operating in 50 states and the District of Columbia, and has recognized more than 7,300 scholars, awarded more than $7.3 million in scholarships, and installed more than 150 Ben Carson Reading Rooms around the country.  Born in Detroit to a single mother with a 3rd grade education who worked multiple jobs to support their family, Secretary Carson was raised to love reading and education.  He graduated from Yale University and earned his M.D. from the University of Michigan Medical School.  He and his wife are the proud parents of three adult sons and three grandchildren.

    Dave Howard is the Executive Vice President of Sales at ServiceLink. In addition to leading the Sales team, he’s responsible for developing and executing more broad Go-To-Market strategies for retention and for growth.  A financial services industry veteran, Dave has previously built and led teams focused on software development, domestic sales and a global sales operations at several leading companies including Fidelity National Information Services (FIS) and Metavante Technologies.

    David Brickman, Chief Executive Officer, Freddie Mac

    David Brickman is Chief Executive Officer of Freddie Mac, one of the largest providers of mortgage financing in the United States. He is also a member of the company’s Board of Directors.
    Previously, Brickman served as President of Freddie Mac and was responsible for all three of Freddie Mac's business lines – Single-Family, Multifamily and Capital Markets – as well as the information technology and operations areas that support these business lines. Prior to this role, he was the head of Freddie Mac Multifamily, where he presided over a remarkable period of growth – raising annual production from $16 billion in 2010 to almost $80 billion in 2018 and increasing the organization from 300 staff members in four offices to approximately 1000 employees in a dozen locations across the country. He also firmly established the company's flagship K-Deal Securitization program as one of the leading securitized products in the structured finance markets. Brickman also drove significant innovation and an expansion in Freddie Mac's products and offerings – particularly those that serve the growing need for affordable and workforce housing.  Before serving as head of Multifamily, Brickman served as senior vice president and vice president in charge of the Multifamily Capital Markets business area. In these positions, he oversaw all functions relating to Freddie Mac's multifamily and CMBS investment and capital markets activities. He is the key architect behind several of Freddie Mac's innovative multifamily financing products, including the Capital Markets Execution and K-Deal program, Reference Bill ARM, fixed-to-float suite of products, and Performance-Based PC, for which he holds a U.S. patent.  Prior to joining Freddie Mac in 1999, Brickman co-led the Mortgage Finance and Credit Analysis consulting group at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

    Hugh R. Frater is Fannie Mae's Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He sets the overall enterprise vision and strategic direction of the company and is a member of the company's Board of Directors.  Mr. Frater served as Interim CEO from October 2018 through March 2019 and has served on Fannie Mae’s Board since 2016. He currently serves as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of VEREIT, Inc. Mr. Frater previously led Berkadia Commercial Mortgage LLC, a national commercial real estate company providing comprehensive capital solutions and investment sales advisory and research services for multifamily and commercial properties. He served as Chairman of Berkadia from April 2014 to December 2015 and he served as Chief Executive Officer of Berkadia from 2010 to April 2014. Earlier in his career, Mr. Frater was an Executive Vice President at PNC Financial Services, where he led the real estate division, and was a Founding Partner and Managing Director of BlackRock, Inc. 

    Kurt Pfotenhauer, Vice Chairman, First American Financial Corp (NYSE: FAF)

    Kurt Pfotenhauer is Vice Chairman of First American Financial Corp (NYSE: FAF), a family of over 100 companies whose core business lines include title insurance, settlement services, property data, home warranty products, property and casualty insurance as well as banking, trust and wealth management services.  Reporting directly to the CEO, Kurt’s responsibilities include managing the company’s executive level relationships with the company’s largest customers, the U.S. Congress and executive branch.  He also leads an innovation effort within corporation to automate title decisioning using artificial intelligence.  Prior to joining First American, Kurt served as chief executive officer of the Washington, D.C.-based American Land Title Association (ALTA).  Prior to joining ALTA, Kurt served as senior vice president of government affairs for the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), where he was twice named one of Washington, D.C.’s top lobbyists. He previously served as chief of staff for Senator Gordon Smith (R-OR) and Rep. Denny Smith (R-OR), and was vice president of public affairs for United Parcel Service.

     

    Kurt currently serves on the MBA's Board of Directors, Board of Directors of the Opens Doors Foundation, and sits on the Housing Policy Council's executive committee. He previously chaired the Board of Directors of MERS Corp and is past chair of the MBA’s political action committee (MORPAC) and presently chairs the Board of Directors of the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO).

    Chris Christie was inaugurated as the 55th Governor of the State of New Jersey on January 19, 2010. He was re-elected with 60% of the vote in November of 2013 and served two terms as Governor. He left office in January of 2018.  During his time in office, Governor Christie emphasized the issues of fiscal responsibility, pension and health benefit reform, education reform and the opioid crisis gripping his state and the nation. His March 2017 law restricting opioid prescriptions led to a 26% reduction in those prescriptions in its first year. He also devised the state’s groundbreaking response to Superstorm Sandy, leading the rebuilding of the state’s housing, infrastructure and public schools and setting a bi-partisan example for storm recovery. Governor Christie was a leader among his colleagues as Governor. He was elected Chairman of the Republican Governors Association in 2014, leading the organization to a record fundraising effort and the election of 31 Republican Governors. This was after he served as Vice-Chairman of the RGA in 2012. He also was elected to the Executive Committee of the National Governors Association and served from 2010-2013. On March 29, 2017, President Donald J. Trump appointed Governor Christie as Chairman of the President’s Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis. Governor Christie led the Commission on a seven-month investigation of this issue, holding hearings around the country. The Commission issued an interim report on July 31, 2017 and a final report on November 1, 2017. The reports contained more than 65 substantive recommendations, all of which were adopted by President Trump. Prior to his service as Governor, he served as the United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey from January 2002 to December 2008. He was nominated by President George W. Bush on December 7, 2001 and unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate on December 20, 2001. As the chief federal law enforcement officer in New Jersey for seven years, he led the fight on terrorism in the post9/11 period, increased resources to fight gang violence, gun crimes and political corruption. His office brought 130 cases prosecuting political corruption at all levels of New Jersey government and never lost a case. He served as one of seventeen U.S. Attorneys on the Attorney Generals Advisory Council in Washington, DC.  He was in the private practice of law from 1987-2001 specializing in corporate law, securities matters and appellate advocacy. He graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.A. in Political Science in 1984. He was awarded a Juris Doctor degree by Seton Hall University School of Law in 1987. He is admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court of New Jersey and the United States Supreme Court.  He is now a Senior Legal and Political Commentator for ABC News and the Managing Member of the Christie Law Firm and Christie 55 Solutions, LLC in Morristown, NJ.

    Governor Terry McAuliffe, Governor of Virginia (2014-2018)

    In November 2013, Terry McAuliffe was elected the 72nd Governor of Virginia. As Governor, McAuliffe focused on equality for all Virginians, enhancing quality of life, and building a new diversified economy that made economic opportunity a right, not a privilege. To keep Virginia competitive, McAuliffe implemented major economic development initiatives designed to strengthen the Commonwealth’s pro-business climate, ensure efficient investment in world-class infrastructure and develop a 21st century workforce capable of meeting the needs of emerging businesses and industries. As Governor, McAuliffe conducted a record 35 trade missions to dozens of countries, personally delivering Virginia’s calling card to business leaders around the globe. As a result, hundreds of thousands of jobs were created and more than $20 billion in capital investment to communities across the Commonwealth, which was billions more than any previous governor. He oversaw the unemployment rate dropping from 5.4% to 3.6% and initial unemployment claims fell to a 44 year low. Personal income rose 12.3% during his term of office. Protecting the rights of all Virginians was always a top priority for McAuliffe. He successfully vetoed a record 120 bills that would have taken Virginia backwards. In doing so, McAuliffe protected women’s access to health care, Virginia’s world-class education system, the environment, the integrity of our electoral system and kept more guns off the streets. He made unprecedented progress on the restoration of civil rights to rehabilitated felons who had completed their sentences and paid their debt to society. During his tenure, McAuliffe restored the rights of more than 173,000 Virginians, more than any other governor in U.S. history. During the McAuliffe administration, the Department of Juvenile Justice reduced its population in state-operated Juvenile Correctional Centers by nearly two-thirds. Virginia achieved the lowest adult recidivism rate in the nation in 2016 and maintains that position today. McAuliffe won bipartisan support for an historic $1 billion investment in public education and higher education, the most in Virginia history. As a result of his actions, students saw the lowest tuition increase in 15 years. He also successfully secured passage of a law establishing a pay-for-performance workforce training program, the first of its kind in the country. Virginia became the first state in the nation to adopt computer science and computational thinking standards in its K-12 curriculum. McAuliffe also took the lead in rebuilding Virginia’s aging infrastructure. Through his efforts, $10 billion in new roads projects were announced. The Port of Virginia was saved from insolvency, and he strengthened Dulles International Airport. Virginia became the first state to be designated as an employer of National Service. McAuliffe also led the effort to make Virginia the first state in America to be certified to have functionally ended veteran homelessness. In addition, 30,000 veterans were hired through the Virginia Values Veterans program, a six-fold increase. McAuliffe won bipartisan support for legislation to reduce gun violence in Virginia. It was the first comprehensive gun legislation to become law in 24 years. McAuliffe was twice elected chairman of the Chesapeake Bay executive council. He took executive action and Virginia became the first Southern State to implement a carbon reduction program. He served as Chairman of the National Governors Association, where he used that leadership position to assist states as they strengthened their cybersecurity policies and infrastructure.  McAuliffe worked to build a solid cyber ecosystem in Virginia where he created a cyber security commission charged with developing industry relevant recommendations. He was the first Governor to take executive action to secure consumer transactions and the Commonwealth’s data. Virginia now has the most cyber companies in the United States of America. President Obama appointed McAuliffe to the NGA’s Council of Governors to provide advice on national security matters. McAuliffe also served on the National Democratic Redistricting Committee as the State Engagement Chair to combat gerrymandering and to ensure fair voting districts. In December 2017, McAuliffe was named “Public Official of the Year” by GOVERNING magazine. He currently serves as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University. In politics and business, McAuliffe has worked with people from all walks of life and different political backgrounds. He entered national politics at the age of 23 as the national finance director for President Jimmy Carter. He was elected Democratic National Committee chairman in 2000 and served until 2005. He co-chaired President Bill Clinton's 1996 campaign for reelection and his 1997 Presidential Inauguration. He was also chairman of the 2000 Democratic National Convention and chairman of Hillary Clinton's 2008 Presidential Campaign. The youngest child growing up in a middle class family, McAuliffe has been a lifelong entrepreneur. At age 14, he started a business paving driveways for neighbors and local businesses. Since then, he has worked with and led dozens of businesses in diverse sectors of the economy helping to improve companies and create economic opportunity.

    Margaret Brennan, Host of CBS News’ Face the Nation and CBS News’ Senior Foreign Affairs Correspondent

    Margaret Brennan has reported on politics, international affairs, and global markets for nearly two decades. Currently the moderator of CBS News’ Face the Nation and the network’s senior foreign affairs correspondent, she is one of the most visible faces in political news today and only the second-ever female host of the 63-year-old program. Brennan focuses on offering a fact-based review of the day’s biggest ongoing news as well as breaking stories, and draws on her extensive global experience to provide an unbiased, big-picture look at the issues that matter now. She skillfully connects waves passing through Washington to larger global tides turning and remaking culture, politics, the global economy, and more.  In presentations, and on her weekly program, Brennan aims to cover issues in a way that illustrates their larger impact on the daily lives of her viewers and attendees. Noting that we put business, politics, and international affairs in “different sections of the paper” when they’re actually all tightly interconnected, Brennan highlights local news stemming from and feeding into global realignments including the remaking of political parties. She graduated with highest distinction from the University of Virginia in 2002, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Foreign Affairs and Middle East Studies with a minor in Arabic. As a Fulbright-Hays Scholar, she studied Arabic at Yarmouk University in Irbid, Jordan. She is also the recipient of an honorary doctor of letters degree from Niagara University.

    Barrett Burns is president and chief executive officer (CEO) of VantageScore Solutions, LLC, an independently managed joint venture of the three national credit reporting companies, Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, and the company behind the VantageScore® consumer credit scoring model.  Prior to joining VantageScore as CEO during its formation in 2006, he was executive vice president at U.S. Trust, heading the National Private Banking Group and a member of U.S. Trust’s Executive Committee and the Senior Management Team of parent company, The Charles Schwab Corporation.    Previously, he served as executive vice president of global risk management and chairman of the Credit Policy Committee at Ford Motor Credit Company, and as senior vice president and COO of Bank One’s auto finance division, the largest non-captive lender in the U.S. at the time. Burns also spent more than a decade with Citibank, lastly as group credit officer for an international consumer banking division that included operations throughout the U.S. and Europe.  He serves as a board member for numerous industry associations including the Mortgage Bankers Association, the Structured Finance Industry Group Executive Committee, America’s Homeowner Alliance, the Corporate Board of Governors for the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, and the Asian Real Estate Association of America’s National Advisory Council.  Burns is a member of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition’s Mortgage Finance Collaborative Council and is on the Board of Regents of the Mercersburg Academy.  He currently serves on the Federal Reserve Board’s Community Advisory Council and previously served on its Consumer Advisory Council.     Supervisory Special Agent Holly Easter Kelley entered on duty with the FBI in September 2004.  Following the FBI Academy, SSA Kelley reported to the FBI’s San Antonio Field Office, Austin Resident Agency where she investigated criminal matters dealing with mortgage fraud, securities fraud, bank fraud and public corruption.  As an Agent, SSA Kelley was a member of the Corporate Fraud Response Team which assisted other offices on large complex financial investigations.  She was also an active member of the Evidence Response Team, in which she processed crime scenes, including the second shooting on the Fort Hood Army Facility.  In April 2014, SSA Kelley was promoted to the Financial Institution Fraud Unit at FBIHQ in Washington D.C. where she managed the FBI’s Identity Theft program and the South Central Region for financial institution related matters, including mortgage fraud.  Since March 2016, SSA Kelley has been the Supervisor for the White Collar Squad in Austin and the San Antonio Program Coordinator for all financial crimes.  Prior to the FBI, SSA Kelley worked as a Certified Public Accountant for a regional CPA firm as a Tax Supervisor.  SSA Kelley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting Control Systems from the University of North Texas.

    Debra W. Still, CMB, 2013 MBA Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Pulte Mortgage LLC, Chairman, MBA Opens Doors Foundation

    Debra W. Still, CMB, is President and Chief Executive Officer of Pulte Financial Services, which includes Pulte Mortgage LLC, PGP Title and PCIC Insurance and employs over 900 individuals throughout the U.S.  Still is also President and CEO of Pulte Mortgage, a nationwide lender headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, which has helped more than 400,000 homebuyers finance their new home purchases since 1972.  Pulte Financial Services is a part of PulteGroup, America’s largest homebuilder with operations in 31 states and the District of Columbia.   Still has more than three decades of experience in the mortgage industry.  She joined Pulte Mortgage in 1983, as Vice President/Branch Manager of the Maryland Division and subsequently held that position with the Dallas/Fort Worth Division.   In June 1997, she was promoted to Executive Vice President, Production, and in October of that year was appointed to the Pulte Mortgage Board of Directors and named Corporate Secretary.  Still became Chief Operating Officer in 1999, and in August 2004, was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer.  She was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Pulte Financial Services in 2010.  Still served as the 2013 Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association and is currently a member of the association's Board of Directors, Chair of the Affordable Housing Subgroup and a member of MBA’s Consumer Affairs Advisory Council.  Still was awarded MBA’s Andrew D. Woodward Distinguished Service Award in 2014.  As an active MBA member for more than a decade, Still has also served as Chair of MBA's Residential Board of Governors (RESBOG,) Chairman of MBA’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Chairman of the Council for Residential Mortgage Servicing for the 21st Century and was Chair of the MBA Forward Task Force.  She has also served on MBA's Strategic Planning Committee, MBA's Loan Origination Task Force, and Secondary and Capital Markets Committee.  Still has testified before Congress multiple times.  Still is presently the Chairman of MBA’s Opens Doors Foundation.  In 2011 and 2013, Still was featured in “Influential Women of the Housing Economy” by HousingWire Magazine and in 2011 was named one of “The Top Ten Women in Mortgage and Housing” by The Five Star Institute.  In March 2018 Still was appointed to Chimera’s Board of Directors. Chimera Investment Corporation is a publicly traded real estate investment trust that is primarily engaged in real estate finance.

    Andrew Ward is the Chairman of CyFIR LLC, is a cyber security software and consulting company serving a variety of organizations including financial services firms. Prior to CyFIR, he was as senior partner at PriceWaterhouse Coopers from which he retired after  37 years. While at PwC he was a Member of the financial services leadership team with a concentration in commercial banking and held various leadership rolls in the organization. He is also Chairman of the Vista Adult Services Organization and Chairman of Andrew’s Gift, both specializing in services for the autism community.

She has worked in real estate finance for close to twenty years. Currently, she leads the management and direction for the annual and quarterly Mortgage Bankers Performance Reports, the Servicing Operations Study and Forum, the Peer Group Survey and Roundtable Program, the Mortgage Banking Compensation Survey Program and other ad hoc surveys and policy analyses. She is also MBA's spokesperson for the Quarterly National Delinquency Survey.  In addition, Walsh conducts specialty workshops, symposiums and roundtables on a variety of current topics critical to the mortgage industry and provides program advisory support for several conferences, particularly MBA's Accounting and Financial Management Conference and its National Servicing Conference. She is an instructor for several MBA Education webinars and courses, including the Introductory and Advanced Schools of Mortgage Servicing and the Future Leaders Program. Results of her work have been published in all of the major trade publications as well as national and local newspapers. She is a frequent speaker at MBA and other industry events and conferences.  Walsh was named to HousingWire's "2016 Women of Influence" list.     Patrick Carey is the Consumer Lending National Fulfillment Executive. He is responsible for the fulfillment of First Mortgage and Home Equity products for Retail, Preferred, and Global Wealth &

Additional operations include Centralized Operations Support, Project Review Office and Vendor Fulfillment.  A 29-year industry veteran, Carey most recently served as the Consumer Lending Business Enablement and Client Experience Executive where he was responsible for the strategy and execution within Home  Loans Fulfillment for outsourcing and vendor capabilities. He also managed initiatives, process design, forecasting, analytics and reporting for Consumer Lending. Additionally, Carey was accountable for the integration and rollout of the Home Loans originations platform.  Previously he served as the External Servicing Oversight and Surveillance Executive responsible for the delivery and execution of the Subservicing portfolio for Consumer Operations within Global Technology and Operations.  Prior to joining Bank of America in 2011, Carey was chief executive officer of Titanium Holdings, the parent company of Titanium Solutions, a premier provider of loss mitigation outreach services in the mortgage industry. He has also led Default and Retention Operations for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Inc.  Carey is currently on the Urban League of Central Carolinas Board as well as the Christos Ministries Board.     Dan Fichtler, Associate Vice President, Housing Finance Policy, Mortgage Bankers Association

    Dan Fichtler is Associate Vice President of Housing Finance Policy at the Mortgage Bankers Association. In this role, he is responsible for developing MBA’s policy work related to loan production issues, including the government housing programs operated by FHA, VA, and USDA, as well as secondary and capital markets issues, including agency and non-agency securities markets and the activities of FHFA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, and the Federal Home Loan Banks. He also serves as the lead staff representative for MBA’s Residential Board of Governors.  Prior to joining MBA, Dan was a policy advisor at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where he served on the staff of the Financial Stability Oversight Council. He has also served as an advisor to the majority staff of the Senate Banking Committee, during which time he helped draft the Johnson-Crapo housing finance reform legislation. 

    Richard Hill, Vice President, Industry Technology, Mortgage Bankers Association

    Rick Hill serves as Vice President of Industry Technology at the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA).  In this role, he is responsible for providing leadership to MBA and its membership relating to operational and technology topics faced by the industry, including through the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO), which he oversees.  He is also responsible for developing the content for MBA's Technology Conference and leading all of MBA's technology forums and working groups - both residential and commercial/multifamily - as well as managing technology related content for MBA Education.  Rick most recently served as MBA's Associate Vice President of Industry Technology. Prior to joining MBA in 2010, Rick was the Director of Data Strategy at Fannie Mae where he was responsible for data standards and best practices, data management including the company's data warehouse, and managing the relationship with regulatory agencies relating to information requirements.  Before his time at Fannie Mae, he was a senior auditor with Deloitte & Touche.

    Garth E. Graham, Senior Partner, STRATMOR Group

    Garth Graham is a Senior Partner at STRATMOR Group’, a 30 year old mortgage banking consulting firm. Graham has over 25 years of experience in mortgage banking, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to successful startups. He is a true pioneer of the Digital Mortgage, as one of the founders of mortgage.com, and was an executive at Top 5 lender ABN-AMRO Mortgage before it’s $9 billion sale to Citigroup in March of 2007 which closed before the market downturn. Good timing!  Garth is a frequent speaker at national conventions, corporate events, and technology conferences. And always with a balance of data, insights and jokes.

    William Kooper, MPA, Vice President, State Governmental Affairs and Industry Relations, Mortgage Bankers Association

    William Kooper is Vice President of State Government Affairs and Industry Relations at the Mortgage Bankers Association and in that capacity leads MBA's advocacy efforts at the state and local level as well as MBA's engagement with mortgage banking associations across the country. William is responsible for the MBA State Legislative and Regulatory Committee, staffs the State Association Relations Committee and leads the State Relations Initiative -- MBA's program to partner with state associations to align business development, communications and advocacy interests.  William joined MBA in January 2001 as Director of Government Affairs, and has had a variety of roles assisting MBA members. Before leading the state program, he was Associate Vice President of Legislative and Political Affairs where he directed MBA's nationwide grassroots advocacy program, the Mortgage Action Alliance, Inc. and the planning and execution of MBA's National Advocacy Conference. He also served as staff to MBA's political action committee, MORPAC.  Prior to joining MBA, William was appointed by President Bill Clinton as Special Assistant and Briefing Coordinator to U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Andrew Cuomo. At HUD, William prepared the Secretary's daily event briefings, wrote the Secretary's weekly report to the President and also made contributions to Presidential and Vice Presidential briefing documents.  William's other positions in and out of government have included Manager of Government Relations at HIP Health Plans in New York City, Senior Legislative Associate to the New York State Assembly Committee on Health, Research Analyst for the New York State Assembly's Council on Health Care Financing, and Confidential Assistant to New York Governor Mario Cuomo.

    James M. Deitch, CMB, CPA, President and Chief Executive Officer, Teraverde Financial

    James M. Deitch is an entrepreneur, having founded two national banks, several mortgage banking ventures, and four technology-oriented companies.  He currently serves as co-founder and CEO of Teraverde group of companies. Teraverde is a professional advisor to financial services companies.  Teraverde helps banks and mortgage bankers achieve greater profitability, streamlined operations and process improvement while staying fully compliant with regulatory requirements. Prior to Teraverde, Deitch was co-founder, Chairman and CEO of American Home Bank N.A.  Under Deitch’s leadership, American Home Bank has been cited as one of the fastest growing companies in the United States by INC. Magazine.     Greg Yeager is a software and business process expert. With over 16 years' experience designing software and workflow solutions, he has helped global banks and mortgage companies lower operating costs and increase efficiency. Prior to joining Simplifile, Greg was Vice President of Solutions at Xerox with responsibility for developing technology and workforce solutions for the financial services industry.
