    A retired Navy Four-Star Admiral, William H. McRaven is best known for changing the world when he commanded the daring operation that brought down Osama bin Laden. Admiral McRaven’s long and impressive Naval career included combat during Desert Storm and both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. He also commanded the troops that captured Saddam Hussein and rescued Captain Phillips. Drawing on his distinguished 37 years of service as a Navy SEAL, he identifies small life lessons that make a big difference. As author of Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life ... and Maybe the World, as well as the current New York Times best-seller Sea Stories: My Life in Special Operations, Admiral McRaven has a lifetime of experiences that will inspire and motivate you. We are honored that Admiral McRaven will kick things off in the Opening General Session, following welcome remarks from Texas Senator John Cornyn and from MBA leadership.

    Christopher M. George, 2019 MBA Chairman, Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer, CMG Financial

    Christopher M. George, Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association, is the founder, President and CEO of CMG Financial, a privately held Mortgage Bank, headquartered in San Ramon, California. The company conducts business in 50 states and the District of Columbia and holds federal agency lending approvals with HUD, VA, RHS, GNMA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  Founded in 1993, the company is widely known for responsible lending practices, industry and consumer advocacy, market innovation and operational agility. Under George's direction, CMG Financial has developed into a robust firm making its products and services available to the market nationally through three distinct origination channels including wholesale, correspondent and retail lending which also serves the home builder, real estate and credit union communities. CMG Financial offers a variety of home financing solutions including their proprietary products and programs, such as the All In One Home LoanTM, which facilitates faster loan payoff, and HomeFundItTM, to enable buyers to raise their down payment.  In addition to his role at CMG Financial, George has served on the MBA's Board of Directors since 2012, is a member of MBA's Independent Mortgage Bankers Executive Council and MBA's Consumer Affairs Advisory Council, as well as an active member of MBA's advocacy efforts. George serves on the Board of Directors for MBA's Opens Doors FoundationTM. He is the immediate past Chairman of MBA's Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Additionally, George is past Chairman for California Mortgage Bankers Association and has served on many advisory boards and task forces within the industry.  In 2012, George established the CMG Foundation, a philanthropic endeavor to support non-profit organizations at both the community and national levels. To date the CMG Foundation has provided valued funding for the Gary Sinise Foundation's R.I.S.E. program, MBA's Opens Doors FoundationTM, Homes for Our Troops, and the Cancer Support Community SF Bay Area programs, as well as benefitting a host of other local organizations.

    Brian Stoffers, CMB, 2020 MBA Chairman, Global President, Debt & Structured Finance, CBRE

    Brian Stoffers, CMB, is Chairman-Elect of the Mortgage Bankers Association and Global President, Debt & Structured Finance at CBRE, a Fortune 500 and S&P 500 company headquartered in Los Angeles, and the world's largest commercial real estate services and investment firm. Under his leadership, approximately 180 professionals have originated approximately $300 billion in loan volume since 2007. Additionally, this practice maintains a loan services portfolio of more than $180 billion globally.  Brian has extensive experience in the origination, structuring, placement, closing and servicing of commercial real estate debt for life insurance companies, pension funds, banks, debt funds and loans, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA and Wall Street sources.  Prior to the CB Richard Ellis acquisition of L.J. Melody in 1996, Brian served as senior vice president and Southwest Regional Manager for CB Commercial's mortgage banking division. He began his career with Coldwell Banker Commercial in 1981 and became a senior real estate finance officer in the firm's La Jolla, California, office. Brian currently serves on CBRE's Global Operating Committee.  An active MBA member for more than 25 years, Brian has served in several leadership positions within the organization. He currently serves as 2019 Chairman of MBA's Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Brian also serves on MBA's Executive Committee as well as the Chairman of the Audit Committee and co-chair of the GSE Reform Committee. Brian previously served on the Commercial Real Estate/Multifamily Finance Board of Directors (COMBOG), and is the former Chairman of the Task Force on GSE Reform and Capital Markets Committee.  Brian is an author of numerous industry articles and a regular contributor to national and local publications. He is an experienced guest speaker, panelist and moderator for numerous organizations and industry conferences nationwide, including MBA.

    Robert D. Broeksmit, CMB, President and Chief Executive Officer, Mortgage Bankers Association

    Robert Broeksmit (Bob) is President and CEO of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). Bob is a senior finance executive and corporate officer with a 33-year career in the mortgage sector. He has directed all aspects of lending activities, including marketing, sales, operations, secondary marketing, loan servicing, and default management. He has also served as a mortgage underwriting expert testifying on many large, high-profile cases.

    Prior to joining MBA in 2018, Bob served as President and Chief Operating Officer with Treliant, heading the firm's mortgage litigation support practice and serving diverse financial services clientele including large banks, independent mortgage lenders, community banks, credit unions, and service providers to the mortgage industry. As a Washington-based financial services consultancy, Treliant's mortgage practice included strategic advisory for executive management and corporate boards; litigation defense, including file reviews, litigation strategy, expert reports, and expert testimony; CFPB examination preparation and implementation of mortgage regulations promulgated by the CFPB and other regulators; and operational aspects of mortgage banking, ranging from origination to servicing and loss mitigation.  Before Treliant, Bob held senior leadership positions in the mortgage business, including fourteen years with Chevy Chase Bank (including after its purchase by Capital One), where he was Executive Vice President and President of its B.F. Saul Mortgage Company subsidiary. Bob also was a Vice President at Prudential Home Mortgage for seven years. He has overseen annual originations of $9 billion, a balance sheet of $10 billion in residential mortgages, and a servicing portfolio of $20 billion. He also held positions at Great Western Mortgage, Krupp Residential Mortgage, and The Money Store.  Bob has served as the Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association's Residential Board of Governors and as a member of its Board of Directors. Firms under his leadership have garnered multiple awards for servicing operations excellence, including Freddie Mac's Tier One and Hall of Fame designations. He is a Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) and a graduate of Yale University.

    Admiral William H. McRaven, USN, (Ret.), Retired Navy Four-Star Admiral, Former Commander of U.S. Special Operations (2011-2014), Policy Advisor and Member, Council on Foreign Relations

    Admiral William H. McRaven is a retired U.S. Navy Four-Star admiral and the former Chancellor of the University of Texas System. During his time in the military, he commanded special operations forces at every level, eventually taking charge of the U.S. Special Operations Command. His career included combat during Desert Storm and both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. He commanded the troops that captured Saddam Hussein and rescued Captain Phillips. McRaven is also credited with developing the plan and leading the Osama bin Laden mission in 2011.  As the Chancellor of the UT System, he led one of the nation’s largest and most respected systems of higher education. As the chief executive officer of the UT System, McRaven oversaw 14 institutions that educated 220,000 students, and employed 20,000 faculty and more than 80,000 health care professionals, researchers, and staff.  McRaven is a recognized national authority on U.S. foreign policy and has advised Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and other U.S. leaders on defense issues. He currently serves on the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the National Football Foundation, and the Board of Directors of CoconoPhilips.  McRaven has been recognized for his leadership numerous times. In 2011, he was the first runner-up for TIME magazine’s “Person of the Year.” In 2012, Foreign Policy magazine named McRaven one of the nation’s “Top 10 Foreign Policy Experts.” In 2014, Politico magazine named McRaven one of the “Politico 50,” citing his leadership as instrumental in cutting though Washington bureaucracy. In 2015, he received the Intrepid Freedom Award for his distinguished service in defending the values of democracy. In 2016, McRaven was named the recipient of the Ambassador Richard M. Helms Award by the CIA Officers’ Memorial Foundation. This year, 2018, he will be receiving the Judge William H. Webster Distinguished Service Award for a lifetime of service to the nation.  McRaven graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1977 with a degree in Journalism, and received his master’s degree from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey in 1991.  McRaven is the author of two books, SPEC OPS: Case Studies in Special Operations Warfare and Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life and Maybe the World, based on his 2014 UT Commencement Speech that received worldwide attention.  McRaven is now a leadership consultant and stays active with his writing, speaking, and board commitments.

    Senator John Cornyn, (R-TX)

    Sen. Cornyn was born in Houston, Texas, and grew up in San Antonio.  He was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2002 and has earned a national reputation as an articulate and powerful voice for Texas and conservative values in Washington.  Senator Cornyn has dedicated his career to strengthening the economy through lower taxes, reducing federal spending, and fighting job-killing regulations.  In 2006, Senator Cornyn won his third “Hero of the Taxpayer” Award from Americans for Tax Reform.  For his commitment to small businesses in Texas and across the country, the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce named Sen. Cornyn the “Small Business Advocate of the Year” in 2013.  Sen. Cornyn serves on the Senate Finance, Intelligence, and Judiciary Committees.  From 2013 until 2018 Sen. Cornyn was chosen by his colleagues to serve as the Whip, the second-highest ranking position in the Senate Republican Conference.  Sen. Cornyn has served the people of Texas for the last three decades, first as a district judge and later as a member of the Texas Supreme Court and Texas Attorney General. 

    David Sheeler, Executive Vice President, Freedom Mortgage

    David Sheeler serves as Executive Vice President at Freedom Mortgage leading the Correspondent Lending Division since 2014.  Under his leadership the division has significant grown its whole loan presence and launched both Co-Issue and flow MSR acquisition programs.   Mr. Sheeler has held various roles in the mortgage industry including Executive Vice President of Correspondent Lending and branch operations at W.J. Bradley Mortgage Capital and the positions of Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Pricing & Trading Operations Manager in the Correspondent Lending Division of JPMorgan Chase.  David Sheeler has also worked at Countrywide Financial and served in various roles with subsidiaries of BNP Paribas, included Mergers & Acquisition, Divisional Chief Financial Officer, and Director of International Development. He earned a CPA working at Deloitte & Touche LLP in the financial services group.

    Hear from two of Washington’s top voices in housing policy, the U.S. Secretary of Housing, Dr. Ben Carson, and the FHFA Director, Dr. Mark Calabria.

    The Honorable Mark Calabria, Director, Federal Housing Finance Agency

    Dr. Calabria has served as Chief Economist to Vice President Pence since February 2017. Prior to his work in the White House, he was director of financial regulation studies at the Cato Institute. Before joining Cato in 2009, he spent six years as a member of the senior professional staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs where he handled issues related to housing, mortgage finance, economics, banking and insurance for Ranking Member Richard Shelby (R-AL). Prior to his service on Capitol Hill, Calabria served as deputy assistant secretary for regulatory affairs at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and also held a variety of positions at Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies, the National Association of Home Builders, and the National Association of Realtors.  Dr. Calabria has also been a research associate with the U.S. Census Bureau’s Center for Economic Studies. He has extensive experience evaluating the impacts of legislative and regulatory proposals on financial and real estate markets. He holds a doctorate in economics from George Mason University.

    The Honorable Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D., Secretary, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

    On March 2nd, 2017, Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D., was sworn in as the 17th Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  For nearly 30 years, Secretary Carson served as Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, a position he assumed when he was just 33 years old, becoming the youngest major division director in the hospital’s history.   In 1987, he successfully performed the first separation of craniopagus twins conjoined at the back of the head.  He also performed the first fully successful separation of type-2 vertical craniopagus twins in 1997 in South Africa.  Dr. Carson received dozens of honors and awards in recognition of his achievements including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor. He is also a recipient of the Spingarn Medal, the highest honor bestowed by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).  Dr. Carson authored nine books, four of which he co-wrote with his wife Candy.  The U.S. News Media Group and Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership named him among “America’s Best Leaders” in 2008.  Dr. Carson and his wife co-founded the Carson Scholars Fund, which recognizes young people of all backgrounds for exceptional academic and humanitarian accomplishments.  The Fund is currently operating in 50 states and the District of Columbia, and has recognized more than 7,300 scholars, awarded more than $7.3 million in scholarships, and installed more than 150 Ben Carson Reading Rooms around the country.  Born in Detroit to a single mother with a 3rd grade education who worked multiple jobs to support their family, Secretary Carson was raised to love reading and education.  He graduated from Yale University and earned his M.D. from the University of Michigan Medical School.  He and his wife are the proud parents of three adult sons and three grandchildren.

    Dave Howard, Executive Vice President, Sales, ServiceLink

    Dave Howard is the Executive Vice President of Sales at ServiceLink. In addition to leading the Sales team, he’s responsible for developing and executing more broad Go-To-Market strategies for retention and for growth.  A financial services industry veteran, Dave has previously built and led teams focused on software development, domestic sales and a global sales operations at several leading companies including Fidelity National Information Services (FIS) and Metavante Technologies.

    Susan Stewart is the 2019 MBA Vice Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association and Chief Executive Officer of SWBC Mortgage, a full-service mortgage banking firm headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. She currently serves as a member of MBA’s Board of Directors and is the immediate past Vice-Chair of the MBA’s Residential Board of Governors (RESBOG). Stewart serves on the board of the MBA Opens Doors Foundation (ODF) and both Stewart and SWBC Mortgage have been recognized as Guardian level donors of the organization. She currently serves on MBA’s Consumer Affairs Advisory Council and has previously served on MBA’s Loan Production and Fraud Prevention Committees.



    David Brickman, Chief Executive Officer, Freddie Mac

    David Brickman is Chief Executive Officer of Freddie Mac, one of the largest providers of mortgage financing in the United States. He is also a member of the company’s Board of Directors.
    Previously, Brickman served as President of Freddie Mac and was responsible for all three of Freddie Mac's business lines – Single-Family, Multifamily and Capital Markets – as well as the information technology and operations areas that support these business lines. Prior to this role, he was the head of Freddie Mac Multifamily, where he presided over a remarkable period of growth – raising annual production from $16 billion in 2010 to almost $80 billion in 2018 and increasing the organization from 300 staff members in four offices to approximately 1000 employees in a dozen locations across the country. He also firmly established the company's flagship K-Deal Securitization program as one of the leading securitized products in the structured finance markets. Brickman also drove significant innovation and an expansion in Freddie Mac's products and offerings – particularly those that serve the growing need for affordable and workforce housing.  Before serving as head of Multifamily, Brickman served as senior vice president and vice president in charge of the Multifamily Capital Markets business area. In these positions, he oversaw all functions relating to Freddie Mac's multifamily and CMBS investment and capital markets activities. He is the key architect behind several of Freddie Mac's innovative multifamily financing products, including the Capital Markets Execution and K-Deal program, Reference Bill ARM, fixed-to-float suite of products, and Performance-Based PC, for which he holds a U.S. patent.  Prior to joining Freddie Mac in 1999, Brickman co-led the Mortgage Finance and Credit Analysis consulting group at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

    Hugh R. Frater, Chief Executive Officer, Fannie Mae

    Hugh R. Frater is Fannie Mae's Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He sets the overall enterprise vision and strategic direction of the company and is a member of the company's Board of Directors.  Mr. Frater served as Interim CEO from October 2018 through March 2019 and has served on Fannie Mae’s Board since 2016. He currently serves as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of VEREIT, Inc. Mr. Frater previously led Berkadia Commercial Mortgage LLC, a national commercial real estate company providing comprehensive capital solutions and investment sales advisory and research services for multifamily and commercial properties. He served as Chairman of Berkadia from April 2014 to December 2015 and he served as Chief Executive Officer of Berkadia from 2010 to April 2014. Earlier in his career, Mr. Frater was an Executive Vice President at PNC Financial Services, where he led the real estate division, and was a Founding Partner and Managing Director of BlackRock, Inc. 

    Kurt Pfotenhauer, Vice Chairman, First American Financial Corp (NYSE: FAF)

    Kurt Pfotenhauer is Vice Chairman of First American Financial Corp (NYSE: FAF), a family of over 100 companies whose core business lines include title insurance, settlement services, property data, home warranty products, property and casualty insurance as well as banking, trust and wealth management services.  Reporting directly to the CEO, Kurt’s responsibilities include managing the company’s executive level relationships with the company’s largest customers, the U.S. Congress and executive branch.  He also leads an innovation effort within corporation to automate title decisioning using artificial intelligence.  Prior to joining First American, Kurt served as chief executive officer of the Washington, D.C.-based American Land Title Association (ALTA).  Prior to joining ALTA, Kurt served as senior vice president of government affairs for the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), where he was twice named one of Washington, D.C.’s top lobbyists. He previously served as chief of staff for Senator Gordon Smith (R-OR) and Rep. Denny Smith (R-OR), and was vice president of public affairs for United Parcel Service.

     

    Kurt currently serves on the MBA's Board of Directors, Board of Directors of the Opens Doors Foundation, and sits on the Housing Policy Council's executive committee. He previously chaired the Board of Directors of MERS Corp and is past chair of the MBA’s political action committee (MORPAC) and presently chairs the Board of Directors of the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO).

    Erik L. Schmitt, CFA, CPA, Managing Director, Chase Home Lending

    Erik Schmitt is the Product Executive for Chase Home Lending.  In this role, Erik leads product management for the Firm’s originations and servicing businesses to ensure its products meet the needs of customers, while positioning the mortgage business for long-term success.  Previously, Erik led a team responsible for the Firm’s foreclosure prevention and loss mitigation products. In this capacity he worked closely with investors and regulators to influence the future of foreclosure prevention and customer assistance.     Seth Sprague, CMB, Principal, STRATMOR Group

    Seth Sprague joined STRATMOR Group as a Principal early in 2019 with more than 20 years of mortgage banking and servicing valuation experience. Seth specializes in mortgage servicing rights (MSRs), servicing, cash flows, liquidity and mortgage profitability strategies.  Prior to joining STRATMOR, Seth served as EVP of Trading & Analytics at PHOENIX, an advisory firm for MSR and whole loan trading, mortgage services and analytics. His primary responsibilities at Phoenix included managing bulk and flow MSR transactions and strategic valuation solutions to meet the needs of PHOENIX clients. Additionally, Seth served as Senior Vice President—Servicing Asset Manager at SunTrust Mortgage for more than 10 years, where he led the servicing rights valuation team.  In 2018, Seth was selected as Secretary of the MBA’s Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) Society and serves on several committees with the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) including the Financial Management Steering Committee, MBA’s Servicing Council for the 21st Century, MBA’s BASEL III and the Servicing Compensation Working Group.     Brian D. Montgomery serves as the Assistant Secretary for Housing – Federal Housing Commissioner for HUD. Nominated by President Trump in September 2017, his confirmation marks the first time an individual has served as head of the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) twice, and under three different Administrations.  Mr. Montgomery has also been delegated certain duties of the Deputy Secretary. Through this role he manages the day-to-day operations of the agency and advises and assists the Secretary in leading the Department’s nearly 8,000 employees.  With over 30 years of experience in both the public and private sector, including his first term as Commissioner from 2005 to 2009, Mr. Montgomery brings to HUD a deep knowledge of housing issues and vast experience spearheading large-scale policy initiatives. He is known for his work in reforming the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, developing solutions to assist struggling homeowners during the financial crisis, and his leadership of FHA modernization efforts that led to legislation in 2008.  As Federal Housing Commissioner, Montgomery is responsible for the management of FHA’s $1.3 trillion mortgage insurance portfolio, which includes its Single Family, Multifamily, and Health Care programs. As Assistant Secretary for Housing, he also oversees HUD’s project-based Section 8 rental assistance housing program, the Office of Housing Counseling, and HUD’s Manufactured Housing Program.  In addition to his first term as FHA Commissioner, Montgomery’s government experience includes serving as Deputy Assistant to President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2005, including serving as Secretary of the Cabinet from 2003 to 2005, and as a member of the Federal Housing Finance Board and the board of NeighborWorks America. While serving as Secretary to the Cabinet, Montgomery was appointed as the White House primary point of contact for the shuttle Columbia accident investigation in February 2003. For the effort, Montgomery was awarded the NASA Exceptional Service Medal in 2004.

    David Chow, Chief Information Officer, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development

    David Chow was sworn in as HUD’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) on Monday, August 20, 2018, coming to the Department with 18 years of government experience, including a decade of executive-level work, in information technology and cybersecurity.  David brings a deep well of IT experience in the Federal government including leadership positions at the National Credit Union Administration, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Federal Highway Administration. During this time, he has played a critical role in IT modernization and solution delivery efforts at the agencies he worked. Fluent in data management, cloud deployment, grant/financial management systems, David is experienced in IT operations, information security policy, and capital planning and organizational enhancement.  As HUD’s CIO, David will oversee a comprehensive technology modernization effort to move beyond some of the Department’s obsolete mainframe technology and into the cloud. In addition, David and his team will continue working with GSA’s Center of Excellence to consolidate HUD’s business applications, with a particular focus on streamlining the Department’s grants process. “I would characterize my leadership style as collaborative, working closely with stakeholders to bring about needed changes.”

    Gisele Roget, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Single Family-Housing, Federal Housing Administration, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development

    Gisele Roget is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Single Family Housing at the Federal Housing Administration. Ms. Roget’s responsibilities include directing and implementing homeownership policy for the nation’s primary mortgage program for moderate income borrowers. In this capacity, Ms. Roget oversees an insurance-in-force portfolio of 8 million loans with an unpaid principal balance of $1.2 trillion. Prior to joining FHA, Ms. Roget held senior roles in the Global Government Relations division of MetLife where she directed legislative and policy strategy for the largest U.S. life insurer. From 2007-2014, Ms. Roget served on the Professional Staff of the Committee on Financial Services, United States House of Representatives where she worked on the development and oversight of key financial services legislation including the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 and the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008.

    Keith N. Becker, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Risk Management and Regulatory Affairs and Chief Risk Officer, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development

    Keith Becker is the Deputy Assistant Secretary and Chief Risk Officer in the Office of Risk Management and Regulatory Affairs at the Federal Housing Administration (FHA).  He has served in this capacity since November 2018.  In this capacity, he is responsible for implementing a comprehensive risk governance infrastructure that establishes a risk appetite and independently monitors and reports on financial, mortgage credit, counterparty credit, and operational risks that impact the risk profile of the Office of Housing within FHA.  Mr. Becker also develops effective strategies and procedures to mitigate current and emerging risks of FHA’s $1.3 trillion portfolio of single-family and commercial mortgage insurance-in-force.  Mr. Becker is a veteran of more than 35 years in the mortgage industry, spending 26 years at Freddie Mac where he completed his tenure as vice president and chief credit officer in their Single Family division.  In that capacity, he developed and implemented credit, collateral and insurance policies and risk limits, communicated credit and collateral policies and standards to Freddie Mac customers, negotiated credit and collateral business terms to supplement Guide standards, and managed customer credit performance to achieve targeted results.  He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with majors in both Economics and Business.  Mr. Becker also completed an advanced risk management program at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

    Dror Oppenheimer, Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Housing – Federal Housing Commissioner, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development

    Dror Oppenheimer joined the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in December 2018 as a Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Housing – Federal Housing Commissioner.  In this role, he provides expert advice and counsel on the management of the Federal Housing Administration (FHA)’s $1.3 trillion portfolio of mortgages, including asset management strategies, process improvement and technology implementation.  Mr. Oppenheimer brings a wealth of experience to HUD in leading large mortgage operations, including Underwriting, Investor Reporting, Default Servicing Operations, and REO Operations.  After joining Fannie Mae in 1986, he steadily rose to positions of prominence, including Senior Vice President, Default Servicing Operations from 2015 through 2017.Senior Vice President, National Underwriting Center from 2008 to 2015, and Vice President, Asset Development and Management, from 2000 to 2007.  During his tenure at Fannie Mae, Mr. Oppenheimer led major system and process re-design projects resulting in significant operational and customer service improvements.  He also developed and delivered numerous executive presentations to the Board of Directors, senior management, regulators, and external auditors.

    Lisa Tinsley is currently a Director of NMLS Business Services at the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS). He was appointed to this role in January 2019.  Providing nationwide lending of mortgage and auto loans, Consumer Lending businesses funded over $57 billion in 2019.  Prior to his current role, Tom served as president of U.S. Bank Home Mortgage since he joined U.S. Bank in January 2016. He is a 25-year veteran of consumer lending and has held executive leadership roles at EverBank Financial Corporation, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan Chase and Citi.  He is a member of the board of directors of the Grace Hill Settlement House, and is serving as chairman of the Housing Policy Council, a non-profit organization working to promote the interests of members of the mortgage and housing marketplace industries.

    Timothy J. Mayopoulos, President, Blend

    Tim Mayopoulos is the President of Blend, a Silicon Valley technology company propelling the $40 trillion consumer banking industry into the digital age through partnerships with banks, lenders, and other technology providers. Before joining Blend in 2019, Tim served as President and CEO of Fannie Mae for more than six years. Under his leadership, the company returned to sustained profitability, delivered more than $167 billion in dividends to taxpayers, and introduced new technologies to the housing finance system to make mortgage lending faster, safer and more transparent.  Tim has had a long career in financial services. He served as the General Counsel of Bank of America for five years, and held senior roles at Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse First Boston, and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Tim serves on the boards of directors of LendingClub, the largest online marketplace lender, and SAIC, a technology integrator for the civilian, defense and national security agencies of the federal government.

    Henry Cason is Fannie Mae’s Senior Vice President and Head of Digital Products, reporting to the Executive Vice President – Single-Family Business. Cason oversees the design, development, and launch of Single-Family’s digital products and services across the residential mortgage loan life cycle. He is also responsible for fostering the integration of Fannie Mae’s technology and business infrastructure with that of its customers, enabling them to grow and create value in the marketplace.  Cason leads the integration of Single-Family product development in mortgage origination and underwriting, loan acquisitions, conduit and capital markets business, and servicing and asset management portfolios. In this role, he aligns information technology with business priorities, and leads digital transformation of the company’s offerings in the marketplace to drive deep and lasting customer relationships.  Prior to his current position, Cason served as Fannie Mae’s Chief Data Officer, overseeing the direction of transformation, governance, and consolidation of data across the company’s technology and ensuring delivery of business value for all data-related investments. He provided strategic direction for the company’s data initiatives, managed and modernized existing warehouses, advanced business intelligence and analytics capabilities, established and managed data innovation practices, and served as a clearing house for external data acquisitions while driving industry standards.  Cason joined Fannie Mae in 1993 as a Technology Analyst in the eBusiness Division. Prior to that, he served as an analyst for MCI, Sprint International, and Computer Sciences Corporation.
