  • Spouse/Guest Activity: Exclusive Vineyards Tour

Location: Buses depart from The Market and Bakery at 10:00 AM

    Read more Read less

To attend this tour, meet at the Market and Bakery to catch the bus at 10:00 AM.

First, we'll enjoy a lovely vineyard walk at Tres Perlas, a collection of rare-production wines made by the Renteria Family. Originally from Mexico, the family has farmed the area since 1962 and has farmed the land for many coveted vineyards and now produces a luxury portfolio of their own. Inspired by their three daughters (or three pearls) each wine is a dedication to meticulous vineyard practices and is crafted in small lots by winemaker Kirk Venge. You will then be hosted on the deck overlooking the Oakville Estate where you will enjoy Tres Perlas wines and some cheese and charcuterie.

Next you will move onto Robert Sinskey Vineyards, where you will once again have a private room to sip more fantastic wine and graze on wonderful food. At Robert Sinskey, the story of how a wine is made is as important as the wine itself. RSV believes that the winegrowing begins with the care of the soil. Since 1991, they have been practicing the “whole farm” philosophy of interrelationships. This approach taps into the rhythms of nature to embrace biodiversity and encourage natural processes in growing healthy grapes that help craft expressive, vibrant and living wines.

You will return to the resort at about 3:00 PM.

THE STORY OF LONG MEADOW RANCH

In the late 1800’s, the majestic Long Meadow Ranch property thrived with vineyards, apple orchards, olive groves, hay and a goat milk dairy until farming fell dormant during Prohibition. Over the following years, the property became swallowed by the encroaching forest until the Halls bought the property in 1989. The Hall family carefully breathed life back into the land, nurturing it back to its glory, and then some, by cutting back the abandoned olive trees and replanting the vineyards and apple orchards as you see them growing today. Home to the Mayacamas Estate, the rugged 650-acre landscape nestled in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains also gave way to a long, sweeping meadow, thus the name Long Meadow Ranch was born.

The tour will return to the resort at about 3:30 PM.
