    Michael Fratantoni is MBA's Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of Research and Industry Technology. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing MBA's industry surveys, benchmarking studies, economic and mortgage originations forecasts, industry technology efforts, and policy development research for both single-family and commercial/multifamily markets. Additionally, Fratantoni is president and member of the Board of Directors of MISMO and serves on the CSP's Industry Advisory Group and the membership committee of MERS. Prior to joining MBA, Fratantoni worked in the industry in risk management and senior economist roles at Washington Mutual and Fannie Mae.

    Jamie Woodwell, Vice President of Commercial/Multifamily Research, Mortgage Bankers Association

    Jamie Woodwell is Vice President in the Research and Economics group at the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), where he oversees MBA's research on the commercial and multifamily real estate markets. Jamie's work covers the macro-economy, commercial and multifamily property markets, commercial and multifamily real estate finance, servicing, mortgage banking benchmarking and more. Jamie is an expert on the commercial real estate finance markets and he and his work are regularly cited in the media, on Capitol Hill and in regulatory settings. He is a frequent contributor to Mortgage Banking magazine and other periodicals and a regular speaker at industry events. He has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg and in other popular and trade press and has testified before the Congressional Oversight Panel for TARP.

    Jamie also leads special MBA projects including its Council to Shape Change and the Council on Ensuring Mortgage Liquidity, and oversees MBA's commercial peer business roundtables including CFOs, CTOs and HR heads. The Council to Shape Change brought together leaders from the single-family and commercial/multifamily finance markets to identify key trends shaping the industry. The group issued its report "Outlook for the Real Estate Finance Industry" in 2006. In 2008, the Council on Ensuring Mortgage Liquidity brought together 23 industry leaders representing MBA's diverse membership who were tasked with determining what a functioning secondary mortgage market should like for the long term. In September of 2009, the Council released "Future Government Role in the Core Secondary Mortgage Market," a framework for government involvement in the single-family and multifamily secondary mortgage markets and a foundation for most subsequent reform proposals.

    Woodwell received his bachelor's degree in economics and American studies from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. He earned his master's degree in urban and regional planning from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh.

    Brian F. Stoffers, CMB, 2019 MBA Chairman-Elect, Global President, Debt & Structured Finance, CBRE

    Brian Stoffers is Global President, Debt & Structured Finance at CBRE, a Fortune 500 and S&P 500 company headquartered in Los Angeles, and the world's largest commercial real estate services and investment firm. Brian has extensive experience in the origination, structuring, placement, closing and servicing of commercial real estate debt for life insurance companies, pension funds, banks, savings and loans, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA and Wall Street sources.   Prior to the CB Richard Ellis acquisition of L.J. Melody in 1996, Brian served as senior vice president and Southwest Regional Manager for CB Commercial's mortgage banking division. He began his career with Coldwell Banker Commercial in 1981 and became a senior real estate finance officer in the firm's La Jolla, California, office. An active MBA member for more than 25 years, Brian has served in several leadership positions within the organization.  He currently serves on MBA's Executive Committee as well as the Chairman of the Audit Committee.  Brian previously served on the Commercial Real Estate/Multifamily Finance Board of Directors (COMBOG), and is the former Chairman of the Task Force on GSE Reform and Capital Markets Committee.  He is the 2019 Chairman of MBA’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

    Chris LaBianca, Managing Director, UBS

    Chris LaBianca is a Managing Director and Head of Origination for the Real Estate Finance and Mortgage Backed Securities Group within the UBS Investment Bank.  In this role, Mr. LaBianca is responsible for leading a national lending platform which provides commercial real estate debt for execution through the CMBS market as well as traditional balance sheet lending. Mr. LaBianca has spent over 25 years in the real estate debt markets with firms in the commercial banking, investment banking and private equity space. Prior to joining UBS, Mr. LaBianca spent five years as President of RCG Longview, a real estate private equity platform sponsored by investment manager Ramius Capital Group and The Feil Organization. Prior to joining RCG, he spent nearly eight years at Bank of America, most recently serving as a Managing Director and Co-Head of National Originations in the firm's Real Estate Capital Markets group. Prior to Bank of America, Mr. LaBianca spent eight years at Chemical and Chase Manhattan Bank, predecessors to JPMorgan Chase, holding senior management positions in the Real Estate Finance and US Securities divisions. He began his career as an Analyst with Prudential. Mr. LaBianca received his BS from Rider College and his MBA from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, where he serves on the Advisory Board for the Kuhn Real Estate Center. Mr. LaBianca is currently serving in several capacities for the Mortgage Bankers Association.  These include membership on the MBA Board of Governors as well as its Commercial Mortgage Board of Governors, and previously as a member of the Nominating Committee as well as Vice Chairman for the Investor Council.  He is a past Chairman of the Real Estate Board of NY’s Finance Committee.  Mr. LaBianca is also an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council and a past member of the NYC Advisory Board for NAIOP.  He has spoken at numerous industry events including MBA, ICSC, NAIOP, CREF-C and REBNY as well as conferences sponsored by iGlobal, Crittenden, Commercial Observer and BISNOW among many others.

    Lea Overby, Managing Director, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.

    Lea Overby is a Managing Director and Head of Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS) Research, within Structured Product Research at Wells Fargo Securities. Her team covers agency and non-agency CMBS, as well as CRE CLOs Throughout her twenty year career, Lea has focused on various aspects of the CMBS market; including senior roles on the sell-side, buy-side and at a rating agency. Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2018, Lea oversaw CMBS Analytics and Research at Morningstar Credit Ratings. Between 2010 and 2016, she headed CMBS research at Nomura Securities, where she also covered Consumer ABS Research from 2014 to 2016. Before joining Nomura, Lea was a credit analyst within the CMBS investments group at BNY Mellon. Early in her career, she was a member of the CMBS Strategy team at Banc of America Securities. Lea holds a master’s degree mathematics and completed coursework towards a Ph. D. in mathematics from Vanderbilt University. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

    Joe DeRoy, Jr., Senior Vice President Finance, KeyBank Real Estate Capital

    Joe DeRoy, Jr. is Senior Vice President, CMBS Program Management Leader in the Real Estate Capital Markets group at KeyBank Real Estate Capital. Based in Overland Park, Kansas, he is responsible for the implementation and execution of the commercial mortgage group’s CMBS strategy, including loan structuring, pricing and securitization. In addition, Joe is responsible for the coordination of loan contributions with CMBS issuers, relationship management with subordinate bond buyers and rating agencies and marketing and distribution of bonds through investor roadshows. Before assuming this role he was the Securitization and Loan Review Manager for CMBS.  Before this, he was the Securitization Team Leader.

    Prior to joining Key, Joe was a director of Commercial Mortgage Securities at Fitch Ratings in Chicago. Before this, he was an associate with Ernst & Young, LLP’s Structured Finance Advisory Services and an analyst with Arthur Andersen, LLP’s Structured Finance Group, both in New York City.

    Joe earned a bachelor of science degree in finance and marketing from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, graduating magna cum laude.

    Richard Highfield, President, Starwood Mortgage Capital

    Mr. Highfield is President of SMC overseeing all of the lending and subsequent securitization activities of the firm. Since 2011, Mr. Highfield served as Chief Credit Officer of SMC.  Prior to joining SMC, Mr. Highfield was a Director at BlackRock Solutions (“BRS”). During his tenure at BRS, Mr. Highfield worked with the Commercial Real Estate Group of the Financial Markets Advisory team and served as project lead or co-lead on the valuation and risk assessment of several large commercial real estate debt portfolios totaling over $50 billion and over 35,000 positions. Additionally, he worked as a senior member of teams engaged to perform acquisition due diligence. Prior to joining BRS, Mr. Highfield was an Executive Vice President at David L. Bonuccelli & Associates (“DLB”), an independent fiduciary and pension fund advisory firm that worked with clients such as the California State Teachers’ Retirement System and the California Public Employees’ Retirement System. In this position, Mr. Highfield was responsible for assessing risk and advising on commercial real estate debt financing, restructuring and monthly monitoring and reporting of the funds’ investments in over 20 commercial real estate debt funds and numerous other joint ventures. Prior to joining DLB, Mr. Highfield was a Principal at Banc of America Securities within the Real Estate Structured Finance Group where he held several positions ranging from origination and underwriting, to the asset management and servicing of primarily CMBS loans. Prior to Banc of America Securities, Mr. Highfield was a Staff Appraiser at Shiplett-Wilkins & Associates (now Grubb Ellis) specializing in due diligence, feasibility studies and the valuation of industrial, retail, office, hotel and multifamily assets throughout the southeastern U.S.

    Mr. Highfield received a B.S. in Finance with a concentration in Economics from the University of Florida.

    Michael knows commercial lending inside-out. This 32-year banking veteran earned his finance degree from Bryant University and previously worked as Director and National Head of Multi-Family Property Financing at Deutsche Bank Berkshire Mortgage, where he oversaw an average loan volume of $5 billion per year.

    Michael joined us in 2010 and made his mark by designing customized lending products tailored to the unique needs of our commercial clients. He leads our initiative to broaden the bank’s presence with commercial developers and investors.  Currently living in Southborough, Michael is an active member on the board and finance committee of AccessSport America, Chairman of the Outreach Committee at St. Mark’s Church, fundraiser for Art BeCause, and former President of REFA (Real Estate Finance Association).

    Marcy Fink, Chief Admin Officer, SunTrust Commercial Real Estate

    Marcy Fink is the Chief Administrative Officer for SunTrust Commercial Real Estate. She is a graduate of Cornell University, S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management, and has almost 20 years experience in commercial real estate. Marcy also holds a degree in Architecture from Iowa State University.

    Gregory R. Reimers, Managing Director, Northeast Market Manager, Real Estate Banking, Commercial Banking, JP Morgan Chase

    Greg Reimers career in Real Estate spans over 25 years and includes experience in most facets of commercial real estate banking including; origination, syndication, re-structuring, deposit banking and credit. His lending expertise includes construction loans, acquisition and portfolio lending, subscription financing, project loans and various forms of credit enhancement. In various capacities he has managed groups focused on mortgage banking, community development lending, residential mortgage origination and CMBS.

    Greg is currently the Real Estate Banking Northeast Market Manager within the Commercial Bank at JP Morgan. He manages an office based in New York staffed with real estate professionals who cater to the credit and non-credit banking needs of a large and diverse real estate client base. Prior to joining JPMorgan in July 2007, Greg headed the Real Estate Division of The Bank of New York.  Greg is currently on the Board of Governor’s of the Real Estate Board of New York, a board member of the Community Preservation Corporation and a steering committee member for an Association for a Better New York. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute and ICSC.

    Matthew E. Galligan, President, Real Estate Finance, CIT

    Matthew (Matt) Galligan is President of CIT’s Real Estate Finance business. His group provides stabilized, value-add and construction loans between $20 million and $50 million to highly experienced and well-capitalized developers in the office, retail, industrial and multi-family rental sectors.  Galligan’s areas of expertise include commercial real estate finance and commercial, construction, bridge and acquisition loans.

    He most recently served as managing director and head of U.S. property finance for Bank of Ireland where, under his leadership, his team negotiated and closed more than 30 transactions totaling $2 billion. Before joining Bank of Ireland, Galligan served as executive vice president for Real Estate Capital Markets at DebtX. He has also worked for Fleet Boston Financial, Bank of Boston and Chase Manhattan in executive-level positions in credit, real estate lending, debt distribution and capital markets.  Every year since 2013, Galligan has been named by the Commercial Observer to its “Power 50” list of the most important figures in real estate finance. The Catalog for Giving, which supports underserved children in New York City, honored Galligan in 2017. That same year he was also honored by Getting Out and Staying Out (GOSO), which works to reduce recidivism. He currently sits on the advisory boards of both organizations, and also serves on Habitat for Humanity’s Leadership Council. He is a member of the board of directors for the Mortgage Bankers Association.

    Galligan received a bachelor’s degree in economics-accounting from the College of the Holy Cross and an MBA in finance from New York University Stern School of Business.

    Stephen J. Ervin, Senior Vice President, Berkadia

    Steve Ervin heads the HUD production group as well as the affordable housing group at Berkadia. He is responsible for oversight all HUD production of multifamily and healthcare lending as well as for growing Berkadia’s affordable housing platform through its Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD and balance sheet platforms. In addition he is responsible for coordination with Berkadia’s joint venture ownership in Riverside Capital.  Hired by Berkadia in 2011 to restart a once successful Seniors Housing and Healthcare Finance program, Steve built a team that would grow lending volume from $50M to over $1B in 3 years. Under the Steve’s direction, the Berkadia HUD production team has been ranked Ranked #1 in HUD production volume over the past several years and continues to be a thought and production leader in the HUD finance world.

    Prior to joining Berkadia, Mr. Ervin ran the HUD group for Walker & Dunlop after its purchase of Column Guaranteed where he started Column’s HUD shop. He successfully built that group from the ground up to financing over $1B in HUD loans. He is an active participant in many HUD associations. He is a member of the HUD Eastern Lenders Association, MBA’s Multifamily Steering Committee and the Committee on Healthcare Finance. Prior to joining Column, he held positions as Deputy Chief Underwriter for Love Funding where he was responsible for oversight of all underwriting operations. Steve's career has encompassed over 30 years of HUD finance experience in various roles as a contractor to HUD, a consultant, an underwriter and a banker.

    Brad Granger, Vice President, Operational & Clinical Underwriting, Orix Real Estate Capital dba Lancaster Pollard Mortgage Co.

    Bradley Granger is a vice president, operational and clinical underwriting with Lancaster Pollard Mortgage Company (LPMC), a financial services firm based in Columbus, Ohio, that specializes in providing capital funding to the health care and senior living and sectors. LPMC is a division of ORIX Real Estate Capital, LLC. Securities, Investment Banking and Advisory Services provided through OREC Securities, LLC, Member FINRA/SIPC. The Clinical Risk Group significantly enhances Lancaster Pollard’s ability to analyze
    and assess risk factors in senior care facilities and to pass that knowledge on to our clients, enabling Lancaster Pollard to create best-in-class credit narratives and offering memoranda which demonstrate and convey the most thorough understanding of seniors housing and care in the industry. Post-closing, the group works collaboratively with our clients who have obtained debt to proactively address operational benchmarks identified as key success factors.


    Among his accomplishments in these efforts, Brad has developed computer analytical models to identify clinical and operational risk factors affecting financial performance, healthcare operations and professional liability risk. He also provides business development support to the firm’s bankers, analysts and asset managers on clinical, operational and malpractice liability metrics affecting current and future financial performance of senior living facilities. Brad also assists clients in developing business opportunities relating to improving managed care relationships, hospital referral patterns and reimbursement enhancement and is responsible for loss evaluation, risk grading, operational compliance
    for healthcare facilities under our firm’s investment banking, mortgage banking, private equity, balance sheet financing and M&A advisory services. Prior to joining Lancaster Pollard, Mr. Granger worked for Ultra Risk Advisors as a vice president and underwriting manager for the long-term care professional liability program. His past experience also includes American Safety Insurance, PointRight Analytics, Inc., Trilogy Health Services and HCR Manor Care, where he was a regional director of operations for nine facilities.
    Mr. Granger is a licensed nursing home administrator and licensed property and casualty (P&C) insurance broker. He holds a BSBA in finance from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Franklin University.

    Raelee Jones, Managing Director, FHA Chief Underwriter, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.

    Raelee Jones is FHA Chief Underwriter of Wells Fargo Multifamily Capital.  Raelee is based out of the group’s Vancouver, WA office.  She is responsible for managing an underwriting team as well as overseeing the FHA compliance tasks and its FHA healthcare lending.  She has been with Wells Fargo since 2006 when the mortgage company she was working for was purchased by Wells Fargo.

    Raelee began her lending career in the 1980’s – with the West Coast predecessor to Wells Fargo, First Interstate Bank -  before transitioning to Senior Housing Development in the 1990’s.  In 2001 she came back to lending and has focused on FHA insured financing since.  Her primary focus has been in the HUD 232 program but she has also had extensive experience with Multifamily properties as well as exposure to HUD’s hospital financing program.  In 2008, Raelee helped with the development of HUD’s 232 Lean Pilot program and continues to coordinate those efforts with HUD.

    Raelee is a Board Member and current Secretary for Western Mortgagee’s Advisory Council (WMAC), a consortium of HUD approved multifamily and healthcare lenders that provide constructive advice and support to HUD leadership to improve the effective delivery of FHA multifamily insurance programs in the Western Region.  She is also a Board Member and current Secretary for Healthcare Mortgagee’s Advisory Council (HMAC) which has a similar focus as WMAC but has a nation-wide reach and is solely focused on HUD’s healthcare programs.  Raelee has been instrumental in organizing this newly created organization.  In addition, Raelee actively works on and supports HUD-related issues for the Mortgage Bankers Association.

    Jeff Friedman, Co-founder, Mesa West Capital, LLC

    Mr. Friedman is a co-founder of Mesa West Capital. Prior to co-founding Mesa West in 2004, Mr. Friedman spent three years at Maguire Partners as a principal and was in charge of capital market activities which included the restructuring of the firm’s debt, the buy-out of partners and the firm’s eventual $800 million initial public offering. Mr. Friedman transitioned into real estate finance in 1994 initially as a Vice-President originating large loans at Nomura Asset Capital Corporation and later as a Director at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York. Mr. Friedman began his career as a corporate lawyer, working initially in Tokyo, Japan for an affiliate of Sidley & Austin and then in New York for Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Mr. Friedman graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), a master’s degree in Applied Economics and a law degree from the University of Michigan.

    Jack Gay, Managing Director, Global Head of Debt, Nuveen Real Estate

    Jack Gay oversees the origination, portfolio management and business development activities for TH Real Estate globally. Previously, Jack was lead portfolio manager and head of the TIAA General Account portfolio management team responsible for the company’s General Account investments in real estate, including equity real estate, commercial mortgages and single asset CMBS investments. Other prior roles include heading capital markets activities and managing commercial mortgage production teams for both the eastern and western portions of the United States. Jack previously worked at J.P. Morgan Chase in a variety of roles including CMBS lending, real estate asset dispositions and loan workouts.  Jack holds a BS in finance from Lehigh University and an MBA in finance from New York University. He is a member of TH Real Estate’s Investment Committee and an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, Commercial Real Estate Finance Council, and Mortgage and Real Estate Officer’s Council.

    Peter Sotoloff, Managing Partner & CIO, Mack Real Estate Credit Strategies, L.P.

    Mr. Sotoloff co-founded MRECS in 2014 and serves as a Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer. Prior to joining MRECS, he was a Managing Director and Head of U.S. Originations of Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies (BREDS), was a founding member of the Blackstone affiliate that advises such funds, and contributed to the launch of Blackstone Mortgage Trust (NYSE: BXMT). Over 7 years, Mr. Sotoloff helped BREDS become a well-respected platform with $10 billion of equity capital and was closely involved in more than 90 discrete investment transactions representing more than $30 billion in total transaction value. Mr. Sotoloff oversaw structured finance transactions including both loan originations and investments in legacy loan portfolios and CMBS. He also sourced several transactions for the Blackstone Real Estate Partners equity investment program. Mr. Sotoloff served on the Investment Committee for Blackstone Mortgage Trust, the Review Committee for the Blackstone Tactical Opportunities Fund, and the Board of Directors of Landmark Apartment Trust. Prior to joining Blackstone, Mr. Sotoloff was a principal at Tribeca Associates, overseeing the acquisition, financing and development of office, lodging, for-sale residential and mixed-use assets and portfolios, and before that worked for Morgan Stanley, focused on the real estate and special situation funds, and Goldman Sachs, focused on the Whitehall global real estate opportunity funds.     Stephanie McFadden is the President and Managing Director of CBRE HMF, Inc., CBRE's FHA multifamily lending platform. Ms. McFadden has more than 20 years in commercial real estate with an emphasis on multifamily and affordable housing debt products and is experienced in all aspects of multifamily housing including finance, development, construction and asset management/servicing.  In her current role, she is responsible for nationwide FHA insured multifamily lending, managing a team of professionals specializing in FHA loan programs, including 221(d)4, 223(f), 223(a)7 and 232.

    Ms. McFadden joined CBRE in 2013. Prior to joining CBRE, Ms. McFadden was Senior Vice President and FHA Product Manager at PNC Real Estate. She has also held several senior positions with Vitus Group, ARCS Commercial Mortgage and Bank of America.

    Ms. McFadden has provided multifamily loan products to clients utilizing a wide range of multifamily and healthcare finance programs, including FHA mortgage insurance, Fannie Mae permanent loans, tax exempt mortgage revenue bonds, and low-income housing and historic tax credits. Three years of her career she worked as an affordable housing developer and Director of Asset Management for a for-profit developer of Low Income Housing Tax Credit projects which involved FHA insured financing, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac financing, Section 8 project-based housing assistance, tax exempt bonds, 501(c)(3) bonds, and a variety of other funding sources from States and local municipalities.  In addition, as a lender, Ms. McFadden has originated Fannie Mae permanent loans utilizing innovative structures including pooled Housing Authority variable rate bonds, HOPE VI and 501(c)3 loans.  She also developed and implemented a private placement tax exempt bond program at Bank of America, focused on affordable housing projects.

    Kelley Klobetanz, Chief Underwriter, Greystone & Co., Inc.

    Kelley Klobetanz focus is on expanding client relationships in the multifamily, affordable and healthcare sectors, and strategic initiatives to further streamline the FHA process for Greystone clients. Based in Denver, Colorado, Ms. Klobetanz teams with Senior Managing Director Scott Thurman to further expand Greystone’s lending expertise and availability to clients in the west.

    Prior to joining Greystone, Ms. Klobetanz was a Senior Vice President and FHA Deputy Chief Underwriter at Prudential Huntoon Paige Associates, Ltd. She is MAP and LEAN certified to underwrite HUD-insured transactions and has worked on over 70 deals totaling $1 billion in her 15-year career. Prior to joining Prudential, Ms. Klobetanz performed market analysis, worked as a project manager for a private developer, and worked for the City of Arvada’s Economic and Development Department and the Urban Renewal Authority.

    Paul J. Weissman is Senior Managing Director and head of originations for Affordable Housing Finance at Hunt Real Estate Capital, a division of Hunt Companies.

    Mr. Weissman has nearly twenty years of experience in multifamily housing. His experience includes development, tax credit syndication, lending and investment banking. He has been involved in the development and financing of over $3 billion in multifamily transactions over the course of his career including transactions involving nearly every form of assistance available to affordable housing projects. He has experience with tax exempt bond financing, §8 subsidies, §202 and §236 subsidies, low income housing tax credits, HOPE VI, the FHA tax credit pilot program, the Rental Assistance Demonstration program and many others on affordable communities stretching from Connecticut to Hawaii.   Prior to joining Hunt Real Estate Capital, Paul was a Senior Vice President at Dougherty & Company, a Director with Credit-Suisse and a Vice President at Newman Capital where he was responsible for the purchase of unrated tax-exempt bonds in highly structured transactions to facilitate the new construction as well as acquisition and rehabilitation of low-income housing tax credit properties.  Mr. Weissman began his career in affordable housing as Associate General Counsel for Simpson Housing Limited Partnership.

    Lamar Seats joined the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in May 2018 as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Multifamily Housing Programs. Lamar brings more than 25 years of experience in commercial, market and affordable multifamily mortgage banking through his previous leadership roles with various lending institutions.

    Immediately before beginning his Federal career with HUD, Lamar was a Managing Director at M&T Realty Capital Corporation where he was responsible for multifamily agency loan production with FHA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac. Prior to that, he was CEO of Bellwether Enterprise Real Estate Capital LLC, Senior VP of Enterprise Community Investment, Inc., and Senior VP of Reilly Mortgage Group, respectively.

    Mike Morey has been active in the commercial real estate finance and investment industry for more than 25 years and first began his career at The Standard in 1997. He rejoined StanCorp Mortgage Investors in 2010 after more than five years as vice president at Intervest Mortgage Investment Company.     Robert Broeksmit (Bob) is President and CEO of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA).  Bob is a senior finance executive and corporate officer with a 33-year career in the mortgage sector. He has directed all aspects of lending activities, including marketing, sales, operations, secondary marketing, loan servicing, and default management. He has also served as a mortgage underwriting expert testifying on many large, high-profile cases.

    Prior to joining MBA in 2018, Bob served as President and Chief Operating Officer with Treliant, heading the firm's mortgage litigation support practice and serving diverse financial services clientele including large banks, independent mortgage lenders, community banks, credit unions, and service providers to the mortgage industry. As a Washington-based financial services consultancy, Treliant's mortgage practice included strategic advisory for executive management and corporate boards; litigation defense, including file reviews, litigation strategy, expert reports, and expert testimony; CFPB examination preparation and implementation of mortgage regulations promulgated by the CFPB and other regulators; and operational aspects of mortgage banking, ranging from origination to servicing and loss mitigation.

    Before Treliant, Bob held senior leadership positions in the mortgage business, including fourteen years with Chevy Chase Bank (including after its purchase by Capital One), where he was Executive Vice President and President of its B.F. Saul Mortgage Company subsidiary. Bob also was a Vice President at Prudential Home Mortgage for seven years. He has overseen annual originations of $9 billion, a balance sheet of $10 billion in residential mortgages, and a servicing portfolio of $20 billion. He also held positions at Great Western Mortgage, Krupp Residential Mortgage, and The Money Store.

    Bob has served as the Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association's Residential Board of Governors and as a member of its Board of Directors.     Janelle Sullivan, Vice President at SS&C, works with Operations and Technology Executives to realize transformational benefits with technology, services and cloud solutions.  Janelle is sought out for strategy, idea synthesis, and advice to transform ideas into reality. Since being acquired by SS&C, under Janelle’s leadership, she has introduced Digital Process Automation technology into the Precision commercial lending and BenefitsXML enrollment platforms.   Janelle started her career in the residential loan origination business and then progressed into the technology firms that support financial service industry in a variety of roles ranging from professional services, product management, and now sales leadership.

    As a mentor and STEM advocate, Janelle is a founding member and past global chair of the DST Professional Women’s Employee resource group.  She holds a degree in mathematics from the University of Central Missouri and Six Sigma certification from Motorola.

    Scott Marshall, President and Chief Development Officer, Hana

    Scott Marshall’s deep and varied career at CBRE has positioned him perfectly for his role as President and Chief Development Officer of Hana. During his career, he’s served in numerous executive and leadership positions, most recently as President of CBRE’s Investor Leasing business, where he oversaw the service delivery of more than 800 CBRE professionals on behalf of property owners across all property types in the Americas, including nearly $40 billion in transactions in 2017. Scott also led CBRE’s Industrial & Logistics Services business in the Americas, encompassing all aspects of CBRE’s supply chain and logistics business in the United States, Canada and Latin America, overseeing more than $30 billion in industrial transactions in 2016. Before that, he was Senior Managing Director of CBRE’s Chicago area, overseeing the industrial and suburban office agency groups, with additional responsibility for the Oak Brook office. 

    Prior to joining CBRE in 2011, Scott was an Executive Managing Director with Colliers International, managing the firm’s strategy and development of its suburban office and industrial groups. Before Colliers he held executive and brokerage positions with Duke Realty Corp. Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Bradley University. He is actively involved in industry and community organizations, including being a current member of the Society of Industrial and Office Properties (SIOR) and a past member of the Board of Directors of the National Associate of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), Chicago Chapter. Scott currently serves on the Board of Directors of Mend A Heart and is a past board member of the March of Dimes, Chicago-Area.
