    Rodrigo López, Chairman-Elect of the Mortgage Bankers Association, is the Executive Chairman of NorthMarq Capital Finance, L.L.C., a mortgage banking company dedicated to providing capital solutions for the multifamily industry. Rodrigo has been actively involved with MBA for almost three decades. He is a former Chairman of MBA's Commercial/Multifamily Board of Governors. He has served on the Association's Board of Directors since 2009, along with a previous stint on the board in 2003 and 2004. Rodrigo was the recipient of MBA's Distinguished Member Award in 2010, MBA's Burton C. Wood Legislative Service Award in 2002, and MBA's Master Faculty Award in 2000. He also received MBA's Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation.

    Dr. Tracey Wilen

    A former visiting scholar at Stanford University, Dr. Wilen has held leadership positions at Apple, HP, and Cisco Systems. She was an adjunct professor for Bay area colleges teaching classes in business, technology and women’s workforce topics.    Dr. Wilen has authored 11 books, including her most recent book, Employed for Life, 21st Century Career Trends (2014), and Society 3.0: How Technology Is Reshaping Education, Work, and Society (2012).   She has appeared on CNN, Fox, and CBS News, and in the Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune, Forbes, the Los Angeles Times, and USA Today. Dr. Wilen was named San Francisco Woman of the Year and honored by the San Francisco Business Times as the most Influential Woman in Bay Area Business.

    Lillian Fahr, CCMS , Managing Director, Head of Defeasance, Commercial Mortgage Servicing , Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.

    Lillian Fahr is a Director and Heads up the Defeasance Group at Wells Fargo. Prior to this role, she was a Director in Asset Management and lead an Asset Management Team in the CMBS Servicing Group working with securitized, conduit deals. Lillian also spent two and a half years leading a team in Tax Credit Asset Management (TCAM) working with low income housing and historic properties that earn the bank tax credits. Prior to this role, Lillian spent five years as a Portfolio Manager in the CMBS group.   Before joining Wells Fargo/Wachovia/First Union, Lillian was with Deutsche Bank on the Trustee side for four years. Overall, Lillian has 19 years of Commercial Real Estate experience, which includes 15 years in servicing.  Lillian is an active member of the MBA and was part of the first graduating class to receive her Certified Commercial Mortgage Servicer (CCMS) Certification from the MBA. She currently serves as chair of the CCMS Committee. Lillian earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Washington in Seattle. She lives in Charlotte with her husband and four children.

    Michael Heagerty’s 20 years of experience in commercial mortgage banking and lending provides insight from the perspective of both the institution and the correspondent. As a Principal and Chief Financial Officer for Newmark, his areas of responsibility include the financial performance, management, and direction of each of the company’s business lines. Michael has managed the expansion of Newmark’s platform on the west coast including operational, recruiting, and technology initiatives that strive to improve the company’s loan production and servicing capabilities. Since forming Newmark’s Loan Servicing Department in 1994, the department has grown to be one of the top commercial loan servicers in the country with a portfolio representing over $8 billion in loans.

    Prior to joining Newmark, Michael began his real estate career in San Francisco commercial mortgage banking and later lending in Los Angeles with a regional bank. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from San Francisco State University. He is a California licensed real estate salesperson and an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America (MBAA) and the California Mortgage Bankers Association (CMBA) and CRE Finance Council (CREF-C) . He is former Chairman of the Servicing Council and current member of the Commercial Real Estate/Multifamily Finance Board of Governors (COMBOG) for the MBA.

    Faye J. Friedman , Managing Director, Head of Loan Closing/Asset Management , TH Real Estate

    Faye Friedman is a managing director with TH Real Estate, an affiliate of Nuveen, the investment management are of TIAA.  Ms. Friedman has more than 35 years of industry experience, including an extensive mortgage and real estate background and manages a portfolio of approximately $20.1bn. She is responsible for loan closings, asset management and surveillance of a diversified mortgage portfolio and CMBS Single Asset B-notes. The portfolio consists of senior mortgage whole loans, both foreign and domestic, and structured subordinate debt transactions such as B-notes and mezzanine loans, and commercial real estate investments for third party investors, including TIAA FSB Bank. Ms. Friedman holds a bachelor degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and is a member of Mortgage Bankers Association. She is a frequent panellist and moderator at the Commercial Servicing Technology conference and also serves on the Life Company Servicing Executive Advisory Group.

    Crystal N. Kalinowski, CCMS , Vice President , Bernard Financial Group

    Crystal is a graduate of Texas A&M University. She began her career at Banc One Mortgage Capital Markets in Houston, Texas in 1996. She spent several years closing commercial mortgage loans before she began working for Argus Software, thereby learning the analytical side of the real estate business.  In 2001 she moved to Michigan and soon thereafter began her career in commercial mortgage servicing with Bernard Financial Group. She is a graduate of the MBA CCMS designation.  She currently oversees the Servicing Department at Bernard Financial Servicing Group with a loan portfolio in excess of $2.5 billion. 

    Brian L. Hanson , Managing Director , RealINSIGHT/CWCapital

    Brian Hanson joined CWCapital in February 2006. His responsibilities are focused on maximizing strategic relationships with clients and business partners of the firm and its affiliate, RealINSIGHT, as well as industry constituents.

    From 1996 to 2003, before joining CWCapital, Mr. Hanson managed the primary and special servicing and asset management functions for CRIIMI MAE’s $19 billion commercial mortgage portfolio.

    Prior to CRIIMI, Mr. Hanson served as Chief Operating Officer and Portfolio Director for JCF Partners in Lanham, Maryland, overseeing their $1 billion real estate portfolio. Prior to joining JCF in 1991, Mr. Hanson was Vice President of secondary marketing and syndications for a financial institution and its wholly-owned mortgage banking subsidiary.

     Mr. Hanson has lectured at various universities, including Harvard, Columbia, NYU, Wharton, Maryland and Johns Hopkins, and has had speaking engagements for the Mortgage Bankers Association, Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (CREFC), Fitch Ratings, Standard & Poor’s, the Appraisal Institute and various other trade associations. During 2012-2013, Mr. Hanson was the Chair of the CREFC Servicer Forum.

     Mr. Hanson holds a B.A. in mathematics from Washington and Lee University.

    Scott Keith serves as Managing Director of CWFS Insight, dba RealINSIGHT.  He directs the technology, client services & sales activities of the company. Before joining CWFS Insight, he was as a founder and served as a senior manager of Insight Associates & President of RealINSIGHT software for 20 years, where he developed the industry leading commercial real estate asset management platform, CAMS.   From 1991 to 1993, he served as Manager for Brazos Asset Management and Lead Systems Architect for American Real Estate Group.  Prior to that, he was a Systems Engineer and Applications Programmer for the Department of Defense.     Insurance is a vital part of commercial real estate finance used to rehabilitate following a loss, to provide cash flows for debt service payments following a business interruption and to protect cash flows from liability claims. Following an insurable event, lenders and owners, may find that the insurance did not perform exactly as expected.     Nick is the Senior Vice President & Managing Director of Financial Institutions Services at Althans Insurance located in Cleveland, Ohio. During his past twenty-five years in the insurance industry, he has worked for a London-Based insurance firm with offices worldwide and one of the largest national insurance brokers in the United States. He has been at Althans Insurance since 1996, and is licensed in every state and represents most admitted insurance companies in the marketplace today.

     For the past twenty years, he has specialized in developing and maintaining the most comprehensive Lender Placed and Real Estate Owned insurance programs in the industry today. Currently he represents the insurance needs for over thirty-five Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) members and places coverage on over two thousand properties monthly.

     After September 11th, 2001, he manuscript and secured the property terrorism policies on a Lender Placed basis for the number two (Sears Tower in Chicago, Illinois) and number three (Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota) terrorist targets in the United States.

     He has testified and been declared an expert witness in the United States Federal Court regarding Lender Placed insurance coverage.  

     He has also been a speaker at the Mortgage Bankers Association Conferences, Insurance Conclaves, and Webinars on the subject of Lender Placed insurance coverage and Flood coverage.  He has been a speaker on insurance related matters for Standard and Poor’s and Freddie Mac too.

    Laura J. Smith , Director , Berkeley Point Capital LLC

    Laura Smith is a Director at Berkeley Point Capital and is responsible for managing several of the operations teams within the Servicing Group.  In this capacity, Laura manages the insurance, escrows, taxes and various other functions for a $55B portfolio encompassing 3,600 loans in 49 states.   She has over 20 years of industry experience as well as over 25 years of experience in the insurance and servicing industry including residential servicing and insurance brokerage and marketing experience. 

    Prior to Berkeley Point, Laura was the Senior Vice President of Loan Administration at Berkadia Commercial Mortgage.  Throughout her tenure with the organization, she managed many of the operations teams including Insurance, Escrows, Inspections , UCC’s, Workflow, Taxes, CMBS Asset Management, Rent Rolls and File Room.  Laura has experience in many different portfolio types including CMBS, GSE, Private Investors, Private Label, Life Company, and Community Loans.  In her capacity at Berkadia, she successfully implemented and managed both outsourced and off shore platforms in Ireland, Manilla, and Hyderabad. 

    Laura holds a B.S. in Marketing from Penn State University, Masters of Education from Arcadia University, and an MBA from LaSalle University.  Laura is also the Co-Chair of the MBA Insurance Stakeholders Roundtable and is an active participant in various insurance industry regulatory discussions and various industry panels.  Laura is a Licensed Life, Accident & Health and Property & Casualty Agent.

     

    Katherina Komisarjevsky , Chief Operating Officer and Head of CMBS , Harbor Group Consulting, LLC

    Katherina S. Komisarjevsky is Chief Operating Officer/Head of CMBS and serves on the Board of Directors at Harbor Group Consulting Holdings LLC.  As Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Komisarjevsky is engaged in all facets of the firm’s operations and is responsible for the management oversight of the firm’s large loan transactions, including balance sheet, agency, syndication, and CMBS loans.  As Head of CMBS, she is responsible for managing, negotiating and closing CMBS transactions for the firm, including all stand-alone securitizations.  Mrs. Komisarjevsky is also credited with creating Harbor’s unique process of managing large loan and stand-alone securitizations and integrating the recently launched Analytics platform into the deal process.  Mrs. Komisarjevsky has overseen transactions totaling more than $500B. These transactions include SL Green’s refinance of Citigroup’s headquarters at 388 Greenwich, Turnberry’s refinance of Fontainebleau Hotel & Aventura Mall and Blackstone’s acquisition of Equity Office Properties.  She also consulted on the first financing completed by the Federal Reserve utilizing the TALF program and represented the investment banking group in the financing of Hilton Hotels, in anticipation of its initial public offering in 2013.  Mrs. Komisarjevsky is called upon for speaking engagements, insurance seminars and contribution to publications and internal presentations of many prominent law firms.  Mrs. Komisarjevsky is a cum laude graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs from Hofstra University.

    Karin Chan is the Director of Loan Closing and Servicing at American Real Estate Capital. 

    Ms. Chan is a dynamic and versatile professional with over 20 years of leadership and business management experience. She is responsible for American Real Estate Capital’s closing process and servicing of the $1 Billion plus commercial real estate loan portfolio. 

    Throughout her career, Ms. Chan serviced multifamily and commercial loans originated under Life companies, CMBS, pension funds, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and other lending programs.

    Ms. Chan graduated with honors from Trinity International University with a BA in Organizational Leadership. She is a Florida licensed Real Estate Sales Associate and Mortgage Broker.

    Kelly Wrenn is a partner in the Washington, DC office of Ballard Spahr LLP and is a member of the Firm’s Real Estate Finance and Capital Markets industry group.  Having practiced for over twenty-five (25) years, Mr. Wrenn’s practice encompasses a wide range of transactional matters, with an emphasis in business finance and equity transactions, commercial real estate law, commercial real estate loan servicing and distressed debt matters. His clients include portfolio, agency, specialty, conduit lenders and commercial loan servicers and a growing number of non-regulated lenders and equity providers. Significant rating agency contacts have been developed in connection with his structured finance practice, and he has been involved in the closing and workout of numerous commercial real estate and business finance transactions throughout the United States since the late 1980’s.

    Stacey Berger is executive vice president of Midland Loan Services, a PNC Real Estate business. Mr. Berger is responsible for corporate strategy, business development and marketing activities at Midland. He is a member of the senior leadership team for PNC Real Estate. Midland, a division of PNC Bank, is the leading provider of loan servicing, asset management and technology solutions for the commercial real estate finance industry. The company is one of the nation's largest commercial loan servicers with $489.6 billion in outstanding balances. As special servicer, Midland is responsible for asset management, workout and resolution of a $169.3 billion CMBS and non-securitized portfolio.     Deborah K. Wright is responsible for providing legal advice to Prudential Financial’s servicing subsidiary, Prudential Asset Resources.  PAR’s $85B+ commercial real estate loan portfolio covers Prudential’s General Account, CMBS, Fannie Mae, FHA, Freddie Mac, third-party investors and other loan portfolios.  This includes assistance in strategic initiatives, business planning, corporate matters, insurance matters, rating agency matters, operations and development, and documentation and negotiation of the acquisition of servicing portfolios.  Recently, she has been very involved with a coalition of lenders working on the revised HMDA regulations as well as earlier efforts working to ensure continued availability of Evidence of Insurance to commercial lenders.  Deborah has over 30 years experience in servicing, special servicing and workouts.  Prior to joining Prudential, she was in private practice with concentrations in banking, real estate, finance, and bankruptcy, followed by a 13 year experience with AMRESCO, Inc. and Lend Lease Real Estate Investments, Inc., and 4 years as General Counsel for Asset Management Company of America, L.P. (formerly a Goldman Sachs subsidiary).  Deborah advised those companies with respect to international fund management, portfolio and corporate acquisitions, CMBS acquisitions and servicing (in both Master and Special servicing capacities), bankruptcy, litigation & workout matters, information technology and other intellectual property areas, and general corporate governance.

    Brad Cheney is an Associate Vice President of Legislative Affairs at MBA, where he represents MBA in both the House and Senate on housing, tax and real estate finance issues. Prior to joining MBA, Brad served as Chief of Staff to Congressman Brad Sherman, a senior member on the House Financial Services Committee.  As Chief of Staff, Brad served as a senior policy advisor to Congressman Sherman, overseeing operations in both the Washington and Los Angeles offices, and worked closely with the House Leadership, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the K Street Community. Prior to joining Congressman Sherman’s office, Brad worked on Hillary Clinton’s Presidential Campaign, serving as Deputy State Director in Vermont and Virginia.  From 2006-2008, Brad was a Senior Government Affairs Associate at The Glover Park Group, one of the leading Public Affairs and Government Relations firms in Washington.  From 2003-2006 Brad served as the Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff in the Washington office of Senator Hillary Clinton. Brad earned a Master’s Degree in Political Management from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from American University.

    Jamie Woodwell , Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Research , Mortgage Bankers Association

    Jamie Woodwell is Vice President in the Research and Economics group at the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), where he oversees MBA's research on the commercial and multifamily real estate markets. Jamie's work covers the macro-economy, commercial and multifamily property markets, commercial and multifamily real estate finance, servicing, mortgage banking benchmarking and more. Jamie is an expert on the commercial real estate finance markets and he and his work are regularly cited in the media, on Capitol Hill and in regulatory settings. He is a frequent contributor to Mortgage Banking magazine and other periodicals and a regular speaker at industry events. He has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg and in other popular and trade press and has testified before the Congressional Oversight Panel for TARP.

    Jamie also leads special MBA projects including its Council to Shape Change and the Council on Ensuring Mortgage Liquidity, and oversees MBA's commercial peer business roundtables including CFOs, CTOs and HR heads. The Council to Shape Change brought together leaders from the single-family and commercial/multifamily finance markets to identify key trends shaping the industry. The group issued its report "Outlook for the Real Estate Finance Industry" in 2006. In 2008, the Council on Ensuring Mortgage Liquidity brought together 23 industry leaders representing MBA's diverse membership who were tasked with determining what a functioning secondary mortgage market should like for the long term. In September of 2009, the Council released "Future Government Role in the Core Secondary Mortgage Market," a framework for government involvement in the single-family and multifamily secondary mortgage markets and a foundation for most subsequent reform proposals.

    Woodwell joined MBA in 2004 from Fannie Mae's multifamily group, where he was responsible for multifamily data initiatives. He has also served as senior director of business development at CapitalThinking in New York, research director at the WMF Group in Virginia, and research manager at the National League of Cities in Washington, D.C.

    Woodwell received his bachelor's degree in economics and American studies from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. He earned his master's degree in urban and regional planning from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh.

    Barbara Byrne Denham , Senior Economist , REIS, Inc.

    Barbara Byrne Denham is a Senior Economist in the research and economics department at Reis. In this role, Barbara has written a number of white papers on the commercial real estate market including The Impact of Brexit on Commercial Real Estate; The Impact of Store Closures on Retail Rents; The Impact of E-commerce on Local Industrial Markets; and The Shrinking Office Footprint that was featured in MBA Insights. Barbara also co-writes Reis’s First Glance Reports, Preliminary Trend Reports and does the Reis Capital Markets Briefing every quarter. Prior to working at Guggenheim, Andrew spent 5 years with US Bank CRE as an Assistant Vice President where he underwrote and managed over $300 million of Construction Loans, Bridge Loans and Lines of Credit for top CRE clients.     Glenn has been with Wells Fargo since 1995, and has 30 years’ experience in real estate finance focused on credit administration, underwriting, and servicing and asset management of performing loans. In addition he was a manager in the Sub-Servicer Oversight Group for both the Residential and Commercial asset classes.  Prior to joining Wells Fargo, he worked for Bear Stearns Mortgage Capital Corporation in New York City in their Residential Master Servicing unit.     Andrew Smith joined Cohen Financial in 2014.  In his role as Unit Manager, he is responsible for a team of financial analysts whose primary function is to ensure the accurate and timely remittance of funds to investors. Further responsibilities of the department include account reconciliation, service fee oversight and collection, bank account administration, and verifying compliance with additional reporting requirements.

     Prior to joining Cohen, Andrew had five years industry experience with a background in surveillance and investor reporting. Jeff was promoted to Senior Loan Portfolio Analyst in 2011, Loan Portfolio Manager in 2013, and Co-Manager of Portfolio Management in 2016.  He oversees the CMBS, Agency, and Surveillance Teams within the Portfolio Management Department. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from South Dakota State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.

    Amelia Rice is a Sr. Loan Servicing Specialist at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Amelia joined Thrivent in June 2013 after 7 years of experience from other financial institutions.  Amelia holds a B.S. degree in Real Estate with an emphasis in finance, investments and appraisal from St. Cloud State University.  Her second full-time job is her  executive level role as Rice Family Circus Chief Executive Officer and President of Operations and Scheduling where she is supermom to her two (soon to be three) boys under the age of four, William, Huxley, and #baby3.  Amelia’s ancestors founded the Ringling Brothers Circus, so she is genetically pre-disposed to efficiently running a three ring circus.  In her spare time, she enjoys concerts, craft beer, and spending time with her husband, Jeffrey.

    Mr. Foster received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from California State University, Long Beach.  In addition, in 2005, he earned his Associate in Risk Management designation and, in 2011, completed the Construction Risk Insurance Specialist program.  Prior to joining Pacific Life in 1998, Mr. Foster was employed for six years by a local real estate company in Southern California as a project accountant.

    Rodney Washington is the Director of Customer Service at Berkadia Commercial Mortgage LLC.  As a member of the Innovative Technology management team, he is responsible for developing and implementing support strategies for technology services and systems.  Throughout his career, he has led technology teams responsible for converting loan data and integrating imaged documents. Mr. Washington has over twenty years experience in the commercial real estate industry.     Laura Smith is a Director at Berkeley Point Capital and is responsible for managing several of the operations teams within the Servicing Group.  In this capacity, Laura manages the insurance, escrows, taxes and various other functions for a $55B portfolio encompassing 3,600 loans in 49 states.   She has over 20 years of industry experience as well as over 25 years of experience in the insurance and servicing industry including residential servicing and insurance brokerage and marketing experience. 

    Prior to Berkeley Point, Laura was the Senior Vice President of Loan Administration at Berkadia Commercial Mortgage.  Throughout her tenure with the organization, she managed many of the operations teams including Insurance, Escrows, Inspections , UCC’s, Workflow, Taxes, CMBS Asset Management, Rent Rolls and File Room.  Laura has experience in many different portfolio types including CMBS, GSE, Private Investors, Private Label, Life Company, and Community Loans.  In her capacity at Berkadia, she successfully implemented and managed both outsourced and off shore platforms in Ireland, Manilla, and Hyderabad. 

    Laura holds a B.S. in Marketing from Penn State University, Masters of Education from Arcadia University, and an MBA from LaSalle University.  Laura is also the Co-Chair of the MBA Insurance Stakeholders Roundtable and is an active participant in various insurance industry regulatory discussions and various industry panels.  Laura is a Licensed Life, Accident & Health and Property & Casualty Agent.

    Carol Huber is Manager, Property Insurance and Tax Risk for Aegon Asset Management.  In this role, Carol is responsible for the continued development of property insurance risk management standards, procedures and policies as part of the mortgage loan origination and servicing team.  She oversees the compliance review of insurance and tax administration at new loan funding and annual renewal and the resolution of non-compliance insurance items.   

    Carol has over 30 years of experience in the commercial mortgage service industry.  She received her MBA from Mount Mercy University and holds the Associate of Risk Management designation.

    Craig Hartzog , Head of Commercial Servicing - ACS , Accenture

    Craig Hartzog is the Head of Commercial Servicing operations at Accenture Credit Services.  Craig has over 15 years of mortgage and commercial credit related experience, and has worked extensively in the servicing industry with multi-family housing, commercial real estate, and non-real estate backed assets.

    In his current position at Accenture, Craig leads a hybrid onshore/offshore platform that delivers insurance, financial reporting, and credit analysis functions in Commercial Loan Servicing. However, he also has extensive management experience with all aspects of commercial & multifamily servicing including new loan setup (document abstraction, data entry, and post boarding QC), servicing transfers, assumptions, letters of credit, tax, payoffs, satisfactions, ARM, UCC’s, investor reporting, sub-servicer reporting, reserves, and inspections.  Craig also acts as a liaison between business and technology teams and has coordinated the design, development, and production of several proprietary applications that are currently integral tools in Accenture’s commercial servicing platform.

    Craig holds a B.A. in Economics and Philosophy from Wake Forest University and is an active member of the MBA Insurance Stakeholders Roundtable.

In his role, Joe is responsible for the overall direction and management of a staff of 100+ associates that service approximately 4,600 loans for all major lender types including Insurance Companies, CMBS, FHA/HUD/Ginnie Mae, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and for its own proprietary products marketed under the Grandbridge subsidiary BB&T Real Estate Finance.

    As an original employee of Grandbridge, Joe spent the first part of his 23+ year career establishing investor reporting processes and systems as well as the company’s internal Information Management System, personally building and developing many of the databases that are still in active deployment today. In 2004, Joe was promoted to the role of Head of Loan Servicing, overseeing the growth of the portfolio from 1,500 loans with a UPB of $6 billion to a 4,600 loans with a UPB of $31+ billion while maintaining an emphasis on using technology to aid the servicing experience for Grandbridge’s borrowers and lenders.

    Joe received his BS in Design from Clemson University and his MBA from the University of South Carolina.  He is active in the MBA currently serving as Vice Chair of the Servicer Council and a member of both the Grandbridge Risk Committee and the Grandbridge Board of Managers.

    As a senior executive for Midland Loan Services, Mr. Shapland is responsible for the overall leadership and operation of Enterprise! Client Services.  As Director, Mr. Shapland manages business development, account management, product support, and application support for the Enterprise! Loan Management System business, as well as FDIC data services.

     Mr. Shapland joined Midland Loan Services in 1991 and has over 25 years of financial services experience.  Mr. Shapland is a graduate of Emporia State University with a BS in Finance.

    Mr. Rapp has been with CBRE since 1996 and is currently Managing Director of Portfolio Management.  His primary focus is on portfolio lender relationships and asset management.  Mr. Rapp joined CBRE (formerly L.J. Melody & Company) in 1996 originally as a Portfolio Manager but also served Managing Director for GEMSA Loan Services and as the Co-Manager of Loan Administration at the time of the GEMSA merger.  Prior to that, he worked in various roles with GE Capital including, portfolio management, portfolio pricing, marketing, sales and acquisitions. 

    Mr. Rapp is an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and a 1999 graduate of its Future Leaders Program.  Additionally, he has served on the Advisory Counsel for Texas A&M’s Master of Real Estate curriculum.  He has a BBA in Finance from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas.

    Pat McEntee, Managing Director of Compliance, has been with CBRE Loan Services, Inc.     Steve is a Principal in PwC’s Consumer Finance Group (CFG). Steve provides mortgage audit support and risk management advisory services to various consumer finance and bank affiliated mortgage companies and government agencies including large prime, sub-prime, and home equity originators and servicers. He supports some of PwC’s largest Financial Services audit clients by auditing model-based critical accounting estimates. Steve has extensive mortgage Capital Markets engagement experience ranging from developing valuation and risk management policies, procedures, and reporting packages to supporting Internal Audit with audits of hedge strategy and risk management controls.

    Steve has led multiple mortgage servicing and MBS trust compliance oversight engagements, including a Federal Reserve Board Consent Order Independent Foreclosure Review, an OCC Consent Order mortgage servicing lookback review, and a GSE MBS trust compliance oversight program design project.

    Josh Lawrence manages Risk, Compliance & Quality Assurance for PNC Real Estate, and has worked for Midland Loan Services / PNC Real Estate for nine years.  The Risk, Compliance & Quality Assurance Department is part of the the 1st Line of Defense within PNC Real Estate, and is responsible for ensuring both contractual and regulatory compliance.  Josh oversees risk assessments, control testing, and issues management within PNC Real Estate, and has enjoyed extensive work with external auditors on Midland’s various audit reports, including the SOC 1.  Josh earned his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Kansas.

    Robert Iber , Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Multifamily Housing , U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development

    Bob Iber is currently serving as Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Office of Multifamily Housing Programs at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.  He has served in an acting capacity in several positions in the Department’s Headquarters including Program Advisor to the FHA Commissioner; Director Office of Asset Management; Director Office of Multifamily Development; and Director of Multifamily Counterparty and Asset Oversight Division.  He has been on the Department’s National Loan Committee since its inception, and stepped down after two years as the Chair. 

    He began his career in the Department of Housing and Urban Development in 1987 as an Attorney Advisor in the Maryland State Office.  He moved on to supervisory functions in the Loan Management Branch in 1989, becoming the Branch Chief in 1993.  He was reassigned to the position of Multifamily Housing Director in the Baltimore Multifamily Hub in March 1998.  He was a Senior Advisor to the New York Regional Director, on detail as the Headquarters Director of the Office of Asset Management and Program Oversight. He has been a designer and trainer in several Departmental initiatives including the 1997 Reorganization, Compliance and Monitoring, Risk Mitigation, Breaking Ground Production Initiative, and the 2014 Transformation. 

    Mr. Iber has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Maryland College and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law.  He is a member of the Maryland Bar Association.  He also has been a member of the Baltimore County Rental Housing Task Force and the Baltimore County Multifamily Housing Advisory Group.  In 2004, Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc. (CHAI) recognized him as its Public Servant of the Year.

    Tim Gruenes graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Real Estate Finance.  Tim joined  HUD in 1991, most recently working in Multi-Family and Healthcare Development prior to his current position as Director of Asset Management and Lender Relations in Healthcare.

    Vance Morris is currently the Operations Manager for the Office of Healthcare Programs.  He responsible for program reporting, systems and technology, cash management, internal quality control, quality assurance, procurement, and managing the operational functions of the virtual office. He has been with HUD nearly 20 years.  Vance has also managed several offices in FHA Single Family Housing.

    Prior to working at FHA, Vance was a Senior Manager with the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development.  Prior to that, he was a commercial lender with a federally charted bank.

    Vance received his Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts, Political Science from Loyola University (Formerly Loyola College) in Baltimore, Maryland.

    Kathleen Frost , Vice President, Asset Management , CBRE Capital Markets

    Kathleen Frost has more than 35 years of real estate experience in all aspects of commercial/multifamily loan servicing and asset management with institutional, government and CMBS clients. Prior to becoming Asset Manager of the CBRE HMF, Inc., Portfolio in June 2016, Ms. Frost started and managed the Ginnie Mae Servicing Platform since December 2008. 

     Prior to joining CBRE HMF, Inc., in December of 2008, Ms Frost was Regional Director of Asset Management for GEMSA Loan Services for the Northeast Region from 2000-2008.

    Ted Wright , Senior Vice President, Asset Management , Cohen Financial, a Division of SunTrust Bank

    Mr. Wright is responsible for overseeing the asset management activities of Cohen Financial, including surveillance and property performance analysis; construction draw review, monitoring and recommendation; lender consents relating to lease approvals, loan modifications, waivers and assumptions; and, asset resolutions for sub-performing and non-performing loans.  He has over 25 years of commercial real estate finance experience including oversight of public and private debt portfolios as well as equity positions.  Prior to joining Cohen Financial, Mr. Wright served as director of asset management for Situs where he oversaw a portfolio of highly structured debt including construction, A/B participations, mezzanine and preferred equity positions for various clients. Prior to Situs, Mr. Wright worked for the Institutional Advisory Group and Southport Asset Management where he assisted in the restructure of a NYSE traded master limited partnership with development holdings in Arizona, California and Texas and liquidated non-performing CRE loan portfolios for the RTC.  Mr. Wright holds an MBA in International Finance from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BA in Business Administration and History from Principia College

    Daniel J. Phelan, CMB, CCMS, CRI , President & Chief Executive Officer , Pacific Southwest Realty Services

    Mr. Phelan joined PSRS in 1973 and currently holds the title of President and CEO. Mr. Phelan attended Creighton University for his undergraduate studies, where he attained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Mr. Phelan has spent his entire 44 year career with PSRS where he has learned about property and construction management, leasing, real estate valuation, underwriting, and finally mortgage banking. During his time with PSRS, Mr. Phelan has served as a chairman for both the Commercial Board of Governors for the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), and for the Certified Mortgage Servicer Task Force. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the MBA in 2008, and in 2015 he received the MBA’s E. Michael Rosser Lifetime Achievement Award.

    David A. Harrison , Senior Vice President , Midland Loan Services, a PNC Real Estate business

    Mr. Harrison is a Senior Vice President in the Real Estate Solutions Group at Midland Loan Services, in Overland Park, Kansas. David joined Midland in 2010, and currently manages the CMBS Conduit and Freddie K B piece platforms at Midland. In addition, David oversees business development and business analytics for the special servicing department. Before entering special servicing, David was a Senior Director at Fitch Ratings where he ran a new deal rating team on the CMBS side, and eventually helped develop and implement Fitch’s CRE CDO rating methodology. David held other related industry positions at Key Bank and The Archon Group. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with a minor in Economics from the University of Houston in 1997.

    Christian Baggett , Vice President, Head of Servicing , Voya Investment Management

    With 29 years of industry experience, Chris’ primary responsibility is the servicing of commercial mortgage portfolios owned by Voya’s life insurance companies and various unaffiliated institutional investors.  Voya’s total servicing portfolio is currently in excess of $12.5 billion.  Duties include correspondent servicer oversight, collateral surveillance and third-party readiness.  From 1993 to 2002 he was employed by CapMark Services as Vice President of Portfolio Management.  He also held real estate and asset management positions at Kilburn Young Asset Management, Resolution Trust Corporation and Federal Asset Disposition Association.  Chris earned his BBA-Finance from Georgia State University.

    Randy Davis , President , F3, Inc.

    Mr. Davis is a Principal of f3, inc. and has more than 38 years’ experience conducting Phase I and II and III Environmental Site Assessments and Remediation of commercial, industrial and multi-family residential properties throughout the United States for a wide range of clients. 

    During this time, he has been a Construction and Environmental Remediation Site Superintendent, EPA Emergency Response Site Manager, Army Corps of Engineer Project Manager, EPA Contract Field Coordinator, and an EPA Contract Program Manager covering 3 EPA regions and 15 states.

    For the past 20 years he has focused his experience on assessing commercial real estate and preparing Property Condition Assessments and Phase I ESA’s and managing services for clients nationwide. During this time, Mr. Davis has prepared written reports (environmental and property condition assessments) in formats prescribed by various fiduciary institutions and performed peer reviews on environmental site assessments completed by other environmental firms. In addition, Mr. Davis routinely manages portfolio property site inspections by coordinating site assessor’s, maintaining schedules and providing quality assurance/quality control review of reports delivered to clients. For the past 12 years Mr. Davis has been a presenter for the Mortgage Bankers Association’s “Multifamily Property Inspection Workshop” training course.

    Tommy Nance , Director, Asset Management , PGIM Real Estate Finance

    Tommy Nance joined PGIM Real Estate Finance in 2010. He manages a team of 11 real estate professionals and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of asset management related to the FHA and Construction portfolios. The FHA portfolio consists of hospitals, multifamily and healthcare senior living facilities. The Construction portfolio consists of various property types across PGIM’s General Account, FHA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loan programs.

    Richard J. Marion, CCMS , Director, Special Asset Managment , Berkeley Point Capital LLC

    Rich is currently the Director and National Head of Special Asset Management for Berkeley Point Capital in the Bethesda, MD office.  Rich has over 25 years of experience in the commercial lending market and has been with BPC (Patrician Financial/Berkshire/Deutsche Bank) since 1997.  BPC currently services a portfolio of over 2,000 loans with a value of $55 billion, consisting of all commercial types, including multifamily, assisted living facilities and nursing homes, seniors and manufactured housing, hotel, retail, office and industrial loans.  Rich currently oversees the Special Servicing group which covers various product types, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, bridge, mezzanine and floating rate transactions.  Rich is directly responsible for identifying and managing risk areas within the portfolio and for driving and approving resolution strategies for stressed and defaulted loans.  He previously was the Director of Portfolio Management and was instrumental in the development and implementation of procedures across all asset management offices, the transition to a new servicing system and shared outsourcing agreement, and the creation of the Special Asset Management group within BPC.  Under Rich’s leadership, BPC has become a rated special servicer by Fitch, S&P and Kroll and has been assigned special servicing responsibilities on several Freddie Mac K-Series pools.  Rich recently earned the CCMS (Certified Commercial Mortgage Servicer) designation from the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) and also helped develop and is a trainer for the Multifamily Property Inspection (MFPI) course, and actively participates in and chairs various committees within the commercial lending community.  Prior to joining BPC, Rich worked for five years with a Baltimore based multifamily lender, MNC Mortgage, where he performed various asset management functions and specialized in tax exempt bond financing.  Rich earned a BA degree in Economics/Business Administration from Kalamazoo College.
