Breakout Session
This session provides an open dialogue between FHA asset managers and HUD senior leadership. Experts address challenges involved in the navigation of HUD multifamily and healthcare loan servicing as HUD modernizes some regulatory guidance and reviews other long-standing protocols. Panelists discuss ways in which HUD and FHA lenders can collaborate to find a path to the shared goals of optimizing the borrower experience while implementing HUD’s enhanced portfolio oversight and surveillance.

Mrs. Brooks has over 17 years’ experience in the multifamily real estate industry. Since joining Greystone in 2001 she has served in various roles in both FHA Asset Management and FHA Production. Her primary focus is on acquisition due diligence, agency compliance, asset management and monitoring portfolio performance, FHA delinquency and defaulted loan analysis and reporting; inclusive of FHA assignments as applicable.

Brian Murray, Deputy Director, Office of Asset Management and Portfolio Oversight, Office of Multifamily Housing Programs, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
Brian Murray is the Deputy Director of the Office of Asset Management and Portfolio Oversight, which oversees more than 31,000 assets and provides rental assistance to about 1.2 million low-income and very-low income households. He is currently serving as the Acting Director of that office. He has worked in financial brokering with Merrill Lynch before starting with HUD in 2007 as an underwriter in Single Family.
He holds a B.S. in Finance and Economics from Morehouse College in Atlanta. He earned his M.S. in Real Estate with a concentration in Development and Finance from Georgetown in Washington, D.C., where he currently teaches stochastic modeling.
