    Elizabeth Burnett is a Senior Portfolio Manager with Newmark Realty Capital, Inc., with 16 years of experience in commercial loan servicing.  Elizabeth joined Newmark in 2002 and is actively involved in all aspects of the portfolio management and loan servicing of Newmark's $12 billion servicing portfolio comprised of 1300 loans in 40 states.  Elizabeth earned the CCMS (Commercial Certified Mortgage Servicer) designation through the MBA in 2016 and has been involved as a course instructor for the designation classes since then.  She is currently serving as the Chair of the CCMS Qualifications Subcommittee.  Elizabeth also assisted as an instructor for the MBA’s Servicing Agreements and Compliance section of the Introduction to Commercial Loan Servicing class in August 2018.  Elizabeth manages both cashiered and non-cashiered life company and CMBS portfolios for Newmark, with loans ranging in size from $1 million to over $200 million.  Additionally, she manages the annual inspection process for Newmark’s 1300 collaterals and has been involved in the development of Newmark's proprietary database over the last 12 years.  Elizabeth graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame with a BA in English and a Concentration in Journalism in 2002.

    Luke Hoffman is the Head of Closing and Servicing Operations at MEMBERS Capital Advisors (MCA), investment advisor to CUNA Mutual Group.

    In his role closing loans and servicing the portfolio at MCA, Luke has closed over 450 loans and managed net portfolio growth of $1.5 billion, tripling the size of the portfolio since joining the company in 2010.  Luke is responsible for overseeing all aspects of portfolio management/surveillance in addition to closing loans. 

    Luke received his BS-Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He earned his CCMS designation from the  Mortgage Bankers Association in 2018 and is an active member of the Life Company Servicers Executive Roundtable.

    Steve is a Principal in PwC’s Consumer Finance Group (CFG). He supports some of PwC’s largest Financial Services audit clients by auditing model-based critical accounting estimates. Steve has extensive mortgage Capital Markets engagement experience ranging from developing valuation and risk management policies, procedures, and reporting packages to supporting Internal Audit with audits of hedge strategy and risk management controls.

    Steve has led multiple mortgage servicing and MBS trust compliance oversight engagements, including a Federal Reserve Board Consent Order Independent Foreclosure Review, an OCC Consent Order mortgage servicing lookback review, and a GSE MBS trust compliance oversight program design project.

    Joni Brown-Haas, President, PGIM Real Estate Finance

    Joni Brown-Haas is President of Prudential Asset Resources, the asset management and servicing group of PGIM Real Estate Finance.  She leads a team of 125+ professionals responsible for all servicing and asset management operations related to PGIM Real Estate Finance’s loan servicing portfolio across multiple capital sources valued at $98.2 billion as of March 31, 2019. Assets under management include Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, Ag, international and the company’s general account.

    Joni joined Prudential Asset Resources in 2005 and has served in various capacities. In her prior role as COO, Joni partnered closely with the senior management team to manage strategic planning and decision making, oversee the daily operational activities, disseminate internal communications, set goals for performance and growth, and promote company culture and vision.

    In addition to Joni’s role as COO, she was responsible for the management and oversight of the Servicing, Administrative Operations and Business Support Services teams. She was charged with the implementation of all servicing functions associated with PGIM’s commercial loan portfolio.  Joni has more than 30 years of experience in the residential and commercial mortgage service industries. She has held senior positions with ORIX Capital Markets LLC, First Horizon Home Loan Corporation, Citicorp and Fleet Mortgage Group.

    Over the course of her career, Joni has been involved in leadership and development training.  Joni is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), and serves on the Commercial Certified Mortgage Servicer (CCMS) Qualifications Committee and is vice-chairman of the Servicer Council.

    Annie Martin, Vice President, Grandbridge Real Estate Capital

    Annie H. Martin. Vice President and Closing Manager for Grandbridge Real Estate Capital LLC, located in the Charlotte, NC Corporate office for the past 20 years.  Ms. Martin manages Grandbridge's Closing Departments in Charlotte and Kansas City for all life company, CMBS and Bank transactions.   Prior to joining Grandbridge, she worked at a Charlotte based law firm specializing in corporate mergers and acquisitions and real estate transactions.

    Scott Keith serves as Managing Director of CWFS Insight, dba RealINSIGHT.  He directs the technology, client services & sales activities of the company. Before joining CWFS Insight, he was as a founder and served as a senior manager of Insight Associates & President of RealINSIGHT software for 20 years, where he developed the industry leading commercial real estate asset management platform, CAMS.   From 1991 to 1993, he served as Manager for Brazos Asset Management and Lead Systems Architect for American Real Estate Group.  Prior to that, he was a Systems Engineer and Applications Programmer for the Department of Defense.     Shannon Carmack is Manager – Loan Servicing at Ameritas Investment Partners, Inc.  Mrs. Carmack is a commercial mortgage professional, with 15+ years experience in closing, servicing, and asset management on both life insurance and CMBS portfolios.  Mrs. Carmack started her career at Ameritas Investment Partners in 2001 as a Loan Closer, and transferred to servicing and asset management in 2007 where she specialized in limiting the risk exposure of the life company commercial mortgage portfolio through property surveillance, client and regulatory reporting, servicing administration, and default management.  Mrs. Carmack currently manages the portfolio analysis and servicing functions within the Loan Administration department.  Mrs. Carmack received her B.S.B.A in Marketing from Xavier University in 2007, her M.B.A. from Xavier University in 2011, and Certified Commercial Mortgage Servicer designation in 2016.

    Jane Ingham, Group Vice President, M&T Realty Capital Corporation

    Jane A. Ingham is a Group Vice President & the Chief Asset Manager of M&T Realty Capital Corporation (“M&TRCC”), the commercial mortgage-banking subsidiary of Manufacturers and Traders Trust Company (“M&T Bank”). Ms. Ingham manages the Asset Management and Servicing Teams for M&TRCC and is directly responsible for overseeing all aspects of asset management, servicing and credit risk analysis on a $19.7 billion dollar portfolio of loans. Over the past 36 years Ms. Ingham has held several positions within the commercial real estate department of M&T Bank and its predecessors, before joining M&TRCC as an asset manager in 1998. Ms. Ingham is very active in the commercial real estate industry and is a past Chair and current member of the MBA FHA Servicing Sub-Committee, the MBA Property Inspection Working Group, Fannie Mae DUS Advisory Servicing Sub-Committee, past member of the Freddie Mac Advisory Committee and numerous other industry groups and committees.

    Leanne Spies, Senior Vice President, Asset Management & Operations, Freddie Mac

    Leanne Spies is senior vice president of Multifamily Asset Management  & Operations in the Freddie Mac Multifamily division. Spies directs six teams consisting of 280 professionals who are responsible for the systems and processes that customers and investors depend on every step of the way when they work with Freddie Mac Multifamily, from funding to loan payoff. These responsibilities include Seller/Servicer eligibility, loan servicing, special servicing, surveillance, and business technical change  management.  Spies also manages internal and external relationships with oversight bodies, audit, and regulatory agencies as well as risk and controls for the Multifamily Division.

    Spies reports to Deborah Jenkins, who is the executive vice president of Freddie Mac Multifamily. She previously held several positions of increasing responsibility at Freddie Mac Multifamily, including Vice President of MF Operations, Senior Director of Multifamily Asset Management Governance & Control at Freddie Mac, Director in Multifamily Asset Management and Director of Loan Accounting, Cash Desk, and Operational Close in Multifamily Operations. Spies began her career at Freddie Mac in 1997 as an Internal Systems Auditor.

    Spies has a Master of Accountancy in Information Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Business degrees from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is a non-practicing CPA.

    Robert E. Walton, Vice President, Multifamily Debt and Equity Asset Management, Fannie Mae

    Rob Walton is Fannie Mae’s Vice President – Debt and Equity Asset Management, reporting to the Senior Vice President – Multifamily Credit and Risk. Walton is responsible for managing the company’s portfolio of multifamily loans (Delegating Underwriting and Servicing and non-DUS), as well as its equity investments in multifamily properties.  

    Before assuming his current position in January 2014, Walton served as Director – Credit Risk Management in the Multifamily Affordable Housing group, where he was responsible for all aspects of credit and risk related to Fannie Mae’s lending activities in multifamily properties for moderate- and low-income families. He also served as Director – Credit Risk for Multifamily’s equity platform, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, Community Investments, Community Lending, and Acquisition, Development, and Construction.

    Prior to joining Fannie Mae in 2004, Walton worked in the commercial real estate divisions of a number of commercial banks, focusing on construction and affordable housing. 

    Walton has a bachelor of arts in political science from Washington and Lee University and a master of business administration from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. 

    Michael J. Palmer, Senior Vice President, Walker & Dunlop, LLC

    Michael Palmer, senior vice president, is responsible for managing Walker & Dunlop's Asset Management department including portfolio loan management, property monitoring activities and loan default management. Mr. Palmer joined Walker & Dunlop in 1992 and has 31 years of experience in the real estate finance industry. He has held several positions at Walker & Dunlop in both the servicing and underwriting departments and has managed the day-to-day operations of the Asset Management department since November 2001. Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Palmer was assistant treasurer for Independence Federal Savings Bank in Washington, D.C. Mr. Palmer obtained his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

He brings more than 16 years of mortgage and commercial credit related experience including multi-family housing, commercial real estate, and non-real estate backed assets.

    Laura J. Smith, Managing Director, Servicing, Newmark Knight Frank

    Laura Smith is a Managing Director at Newmark Knight Frank and is responsible for managing several of the operations teams within the Servicing Group. In this capacity, Laura manages the insurance, escrows, taxes, new loan boarding and various other functions for a $60B portfolio encompassing 3,600 loans in 49 states. She has over 21 years of industry experience as well as over 26 years of experience in the insurance and servicing industry including residential servicing, insurance brokerage, and marketing experience. Laura has experience in many different portfolio types including CMBS, GSE, Private Investors, Private Label, Life Company, and Community Loans. She also has experience in successfully implementing and managing outsourced and off shore platforms in Ireland, Manilla, and Hyderabad. Laura holds a B.S. in Marketing from Penn State University, Masters of Education from Arcadia University, and an MBA from LaSalle University. Laura is also the Co-Chair of the MBA Insurance Stakeholders Roundtable and is an active participant in various insurance industry regulatory discussions and various industry panels.     Michael McDaniel, President, Fortress Risk Consultants, LLC

    Mr. McDaniel formed Fortress Risk in 2012 after spending fifteen years with a number of national and regional insurance brokerage firms, including Wells Fargo Insurance Services, Wachovia Insurance Services and Hamilton Dorsey Alston Company.  During that time, Mike served as the Client Executive in charge of all relationship matters for his clients, including risk management consulting, policy marketing and placement, claims management and loss prevention. Mike has worked with clients of all sizes, from large national property accounts to local technology companies.

    Fortress Risk Consultants specializes in providing high level risk management consulting advice, including providing insurance due diligence and program reviews. Fortress has particular expertise assisting lenders, financial institutions, real estate investment companies and private equity groups determine insurance adequacy before making loans or acquisitions. Mike and his colleagues have years of experience and familiarity with the insurance requirements of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, HUD and CMBS lenders.

    Prior to his insurance career, Mr. McDaniel spent 15 years in the banking industry, working for large regional and national banks. He worked in the mergers and acquisition and commercial real estate sectors of these institutions.

    The combination of experience in both retail insurance and commercial banking allows him to seamlessly understand the complexities of working with both insurance brokers, as well as investors and lenders (and their borrowers), while conducting sensitive insurance due diligence projects.

    Mike holds a B.A. from the University of the South (Sewanee), an MBA from the Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.

    Lindsay Ellingson, Commercial Insurance Manager, NorthMarq

    Lindsay Ellingson, Commercial Insurance Manager, has been with NorthMarq Capital’s Insurance department since 2014 and has been in her current role since 2017.  Lindsay oversees a team of analysts that manages insurance compliance for agency and life insurance company lenders.  Additionally, Lindsay is the Insurance department’s project manager for NorthMarq’s transition to a new servicing system, and is an active member of a stakeholder group responsible for the development of a new insurance module in that system.  Lindsay is the co-Advisor of a leadership development council within NorthMarq’s Servicing department and represents NorthMarq on Aeon’s Young Professionals Steering Committee.

She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of MBA's marquee designation program, the Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB®) including candidate matriculation, curriculum development and the examination process. In addition, she is responsible for the management of the Certified Residential & Commercial Certified Mortgage Servicer (CMS) & (CCMS) designations; Certified Residential Underwriter (CRU) designation; Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) designation. She also provides oversight on the facilitation of several MBA Education courses, including MBA’s premier classroom program, School of Mortgage Banking (SOMB). Amber participates as a mentor in the MBA@Work program and serves on the external committee for MBA’s Diversity and Inclusion efforts.  She is a graduate of Howard University with a B.A. in Legal Communication.

    Joe Lovell, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Grandbridge Real Estate Capital

    Joseph Lovell (“Joe”), Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, joined Grandbridge Real Estate Capital in 1994. In his role, Joe is responsible for the overall direction and management of a staff of 100+ associates that oversee the asset management, operations, business systems/IT, third party loan closing and corporate initiatives for Grandbridge and its subsidiary BB&T Real Estate Funding.

    As an original associate of Grandbridge, Joe spent the first part of his 24+ year career establishing investor reporting processes and systems as well as the company's internal information management system, personally building and developing many of the databases that are still in active deployment today. In 2004, he was promoted to the role of Head of Loan Servicing, overseeing the growth of the portfolio from 1,500 loans with a UPB of $6 billion to 4,000 loans with a UPB of more than $29 billion for all major lender types including insurance companies, CMBS, FHA/HUD/Ginnie Mae, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as well as for Grandbridge’s own proprietary products marketed under BB&T Real Estate Funding. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2018 taking on additional corporate duties in addition to his existing servicing responsibilities.

    Joe received his Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Design from Clemson University and his MBA from the University of South Carolina. He is active in the MBA currently serving as the Chair of the Servicer Council as well as the Chair of the Servicing and Technology Conference Planning Committee and is a member of the Grandbridge's Board of Managers, the Grandbridge Risk Committee and the company's Senior Leadership Team.

    Sean D. Reilly, Managing Director, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.

    Sean Reilly is a Managing Director at Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.  He has 30 years in the financial services industry including 25 years in commercial real estate and CMBS.  He is currently managing various loan servicing operations for the Wells Fargo CMS portfolio.  Prior to Wells Fargo, he was a Managing Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch from 2003 to 2011 responsible for commercial mortgage primary and master servicing including all operations for loan servicing, reporting, accounting, technology, project management and business process improvement.  From 1994 to 2003, he was Senior Vice President of Loan Servicing Operations at CapMark Services for a $110 billion commercial loan portfolio.  Prior to 1994, he managed operations for residential mortgage backed securities and was a senior auditor for Arthur Andersen & Company.  He has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a major in Accounting.

    Laura J. Smith, Managing Director, Servicing, Newmark Knight Frank

    Laura Smith is a Managing Director at Newmark Knight Frank and is responsible for managing several of the operations teams within the Servicing Group. In this capacity, Laura manages the insurance, escrows, taxes, new loan boarding and various other functions for a $60B portfolio encompassing 3,600 loans in 49 states. She has over 21 years of industry experience as well as over 26 years of experience in the insurance and servicing industry including residential servicing, insurance brokerage, and marketing experience. Laura has experience in many different portfolio types including CMBS, GSE, Private Investors, Private Label, Life Company, and Community Loans. She also has experience in successfully implementing and managing outsourced and off shore platforms in Ireland, Manilla, and Hyderabad. Laura holds a B.S. in Marketing from Penn State University, Masters of Education from Arcadia University, and an MBA from LaSalle University. Laura is also the Co-Chair of the MBA Insurance Stakeholders Roundtable and is an active participant in various insurance industry regulatory discussions and various industry panels. Laura is a Licensed Life, Accident & Health and Property & Casualty Agent.

    Brett Adams, Senior Vice President, Berkadia

    Mr. Brett Adams, a Senior Vice President of Berkadia Commercial Mortgage, manages Berkadia’s Life Company Servicing Operations including client relations, asset management, and closing for a $16.7 billion servicing portfolio. Additionally, he is responsible for oversight of Berkadia’s various servicing technology initiatives. Mr. Adams joined Berkadia and its predecessor company in 2006 and has 16 years of experience in real estate.  Prior to joining Berkadia he worked in residential real estate lending with companies in both California and Arizona.  Mr. Adams graduated with a BA in US History from California Polytechnic University, Pomona.

    DeAnne Reed, AVP, Servicing Operations, Pacific Life Insurance Company

    DeAnne Reed is an Assistant Vice President in the Real Estate Investment area at Pacific Life Insurance Company.  She joined Pacific Life in 1998 and overseas the Portfolio Operations and Pacific Life Construction Loan Management teams.  Under her direction, Portfolio Operations is responsible for a wide variety of services including new loan setup and release, billing, IRS annual reporting, UCC filings and continuations, document control/file management as well as insurance, escrow, reserve and cash management.  The Pacific Life Construction Loan Management team provides client services, transaction analysis, construction loan administration and property inspections for the Pacific Life construction loan portfolio.  Her team is also responsible for the oversight, leadership and business direction for the mortgage loan system.  Ms. Reed graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. degree in organizational leadership from Chapman University.

    Paul J. Edgar, Senior Investment Professional, Nationwide Life Insurance Company

    Paul Edgar is a Senior Investment Professional leading the day to day loan servicing operations of Nationwide’s commercial mortgage loan portfolio. Since 2009, Paul has been primarily responsible for evaluating and managing the relationships with Nationwide’s correspondent servicers, the approval of borrower requests for consent, monitoring loan follow up items and collateral enhancements, enforcing the loan document covenants, quoting & coordinating loan payoffs and working across functional areas to update the internal view of the loans and properties in Nationwide’s portfolio. Prior to his current role, Paul has held positions with Nationwide Investments from commercial loan underwriting and acquisition, to the management and operations of Nationwide Investment’s Structured Real Estate securitization platform as well as a rotation to lead Nationwide Investment’s Project Prioritization efforts. He began his career at Nationwide over 20 years ago as an intern while attending Miami University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Finance.

    Nicole Malaske, AVP, Commercial Insurance Senior Manager, NorthMarq

    Nicole Malaske, Assistant Vice President - Senior Commercial Insurance Manager, joined the Insurance team at NorthMarq Capital in 2007.  She has been in her current role since 2018, overseeing a team that consists of two Insurance Managers and their respective teams, Insurance Risk Managers, several Insurance Analysts and the Insurance Coordinator who collectively manage insurance compliance for Agency and Life Insurance Company portfolios.  Nicole was recently appointed as one of the co-chairs of the MBA Insurance Stakeholders group starting in the Fall of 2019.  She was also a recent co-Advisor for NorthMarq’s Servicing Council that provided her with an opportunity to coach and mentor employees on their leadership development.
