    Michael Heagerty, CCMS, Principal, Newmark Realty Capital, Inc

    Michael Heagerty is a Principal and Chief Financial Officer for Newmark Realty Capital, Inc. His areas of responsibility include the financial performance, management, and direction of each of the company’s business lines. Michael has managed the expansion of Newmark’s platform on the west coast including operational, recruiting, and technology initiatives that strive to improve the company’s loan production and servicing capabilities. Since forming Newmark’s Loan Servicing Department in 1994, the department has grown to be one of the top commercial loan servicers in the country with a portfolio representing over $11 billion in loans.

    Michael’s 20 years of experience in commercial mortgage banking and lending provides insight from the perspective of both the institution and the correspondent. Prior to joining Newmark, Michael began his real estate career in San Francisco commercial mortgage banking and later lending in Los Angeles with a regional bank. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from San Francisco State University. He has a CCMS designation from the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) and a California real estate salesperson license. He is former Chairman of the Servicing Council and currently Chairman of the Commercial Real Estate/Multifamily Finance Board of Governors (COMBOG) for the MBA.

    Brian Hanson, 2019 Vice Chair, MBA Servicer Council and Managing Director, CW Capital Asset Management LLC

    Brian Hanson joined CWCapital in February 2006. His responsibilities are focused on maximizing strategic relationships with clients and business partners of the firm and its affiliates RealINSIGHT and RealINSIGHT Marketplace as well as industry constituents. From 1996 to 2003, before joining CWCapital, Mr. Hanson managed the primary and special servicing and asset management functions for CRIIMI MAE’s $19 billion commercial mortgage portfolio. Prior to CRIIMI, Mr. Hanson served as Chief Operating Officer and Portfolio Director for JCF Partners in Lanham, MD, overseeing their $1 billion real estate portfolio. Prior to joining JCF in 1991, Mr. Hanson was Vice President of secondary marketing and syndications for a financial institution and its wholly-owned mortgage banking subsidiary. 

    Mr. Hanson has lectured at various universities, including Harvard, Columbia, NYU, Wharton, Maryland and Johns Hopkins, and has had speaking engagements for the Mortgage Bankers Association, Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (CREFC), Fitch Ratings, Standard & Poor’s, the Appraisal Institute and various other trade associations. Mr. Hanson holds a B.A. in mathematics from Washington and Lee University.

    Melinda G. Nolden is a Managing Director at DBRS a globally recognized credit ratings agency.  She is the Head of Product for Viewpoint which is a free online platform that provides users with access to the history of CMBS conduit and SASB collateral performance data.  She is an innovative business and technical professional who has helps shape product development in the banking and financial services industry. Prior to DBRS she managed the Process and Technology Solutions team within Specialize Lending, Servicing and Trust for Wells Fargo along with running the Business Strategic group for Global Mortgages at Bank of America.

    Bryan Burton, Domain Manager, KeyBank Real Estate Capital

    Bryab has been with KeyBank for 9 years, starting out in the line of business on the commercial loan servicing side, transitioning to technology and operations, currently in the Domain Manager role.  His responsibilities include Delivery and Support for the Real Estate Capital domain, including new business initiatives and ongoing operational support for the Loan Servicing & Asset Management line of business.   KeyBank is involved in a Continuous Delivery Program which he is involved in from a leadership perspective as well as overseeing multiple CD teams and squads piloting the program.

    Rob Lowther, Managing Director, Hunt Real Estate Capital

    Rob Lowther serves as Managing Director, Lender Technology at Hunt Real Estate Capital, joining the firm in 2017.  In this role, he is responsible for the overall architecture and strategy for all business technology initiatives at Hunt and manages a team of eighteen.  In this role he has directed the launch of Hunt’s borrower portal as well as the acquisition of a platform and team supporting machine learning-based market analysis.  Prior to this, he was Vice President in charge of custom technology solutions at Prudential Mortgage Capital where he architected the development of Prudential’s origination, asset management, investor reporting and borrower portal systems, among others.

    Rob began his career as a consultant at Kenneth Leventhal, building financial models for distressed properties, then moving to their new technology consulting services practice.  Following this he worked in various roles at AMRESCO, developing pipeline and asset management systems before serving as Chief Information Officer and overseeing AMRESCO’s acquisition by Austrailian-based Lend Lease.  He also worked as a Director of Technology Services at Hunt Consolidated in Dallas, working across a variety of their business lines ranging from real estate to agriculture to petroleum extraction and refining.

    Rob received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.

    Lyle Shapland, Senior Vice President, Director of Enterprise! Client Services, PNC Real Estate

    As a senior executive for Midland Loan Services, Mr. Shapland is responsible for the overall leadership and operation of Enterprise! Client Services.  As Director, Mr. Shapland manages business development, account management, product support, as well as FDIC data services.   Mr. Shapland’s duties also include the management of application support services, systems testing and implementation, and report/query services for Midland Loan Services. 

    Previously, Mr. Shapland managed the Insurance Company Servicing and Bank Servicing Groups.  Also during his tenure at Midland, Mr. Shapland was accountable for all conversion planning, processing and conversion support. 

    Mr. Shapland joined Midland Loan Services in 1991 and has over 30 years of financial services experience. Mr. Shapland is a graduate of Emporia State University with a BS in Finance.

    Robert DeRosa is a First Vice President for Alliant’s National Marketing Team and is located in the Houston office. Rob has more than 25 years of experience in commercial property and serves as a national resource for complex property and energy risks. He is responsible for the design and implementation of property programs, and will also be charged for leading growth within this space. Throughout his career, Rob has focused on the placement of complex risks for a vast area of clients including Fortune 500, Real Estate, Energy and Middle Market Companies.

    Prior to joining Alliant, Rob was a Regional Property Executive at AIG. Before that, he led Marsh’s Property team for the South Central Partnership.

    Rob received his BS in Business Administration from Bryant College.

    Danielle Lombardo, SVP, Lockton

    Danielle Lombardo is Senior Vice President in Lockton Northeast’s Real Estate Practice, where her expertise lies in developing and servicing clients who specialize in real estate development, management and ownership. She is responsible for coordinating the delivery of all Lockton’s resources to her clients, developing marketplace strategies and utilizing analytics to assist companies in making informed decisions on how to best structure their risk management programs.

    Since 2008, Danielle has been focused on the unique needs of the multifamily real estate sector, building master insurance programs that streamline coverage to produce significant savings for organizations in this industry.

    Danielle’s involvement with real estate-specific business and philanthropic groups has helped her build a powerful network of investors, developers, brokers, attorneys, accountants and finance professionals. Her skill set allows her to foster relationships amongst all of her industry resources to facilitate business connections for her clients.

    Danielle has been a frequent speaker on a variety of topics, ranging from insurance solutions for distressed real estate presented to major law firms, banks and special servicers across the country, to environmental insurance solutions presented to real estate and finance professionals throughout Los Angeles.

    Mike Nardiello, SVP Property Products Leaders, CNA

    Michael A. Nardiello is a Senior Vice President of Property Underwriting at CNA.  He leads the newly formed National Accounts Property Practice which is a dedicated property unit focused on retail and wholesale property programs from the largest domestic and global brokers in the US.

    Mr. Nardiello began his career in 1994 at Marsh & McLennan in NY as an account representative in the Property Advisory Group.  Over the course of his 18 years at Marsh Mr. Nardiello was promoted and held different roles within Marsh’s Northeast Property Advisory and Global Broking Units.  In 2005 he was promoted to Managing Director for the New York Metro region in charge of property placement.  In 2009 he was promoted to National Placement Leader in charge of all property placement operations for the US overseeing 5 regional placement teams handling more than 2500 Risk Management and National property placements totaling over 3 Billion in Gross Written Premiums.

    In 2011 Mr. Nardiello moved to the underwriting side of the business becoming a Regional Property Executive for AIG in the New York region and quickly evolving to encompass the entire North East.  As the Regional Property Executive for the North East, Mr. Nardiello oversaw an underwriting team of over 70 professionals handling $1 Billion of Gross Written Premium.  In 2015 Mr. Nardiello joined Endurance which was then purchased by Sompo to star up property underwriting for the newly formed Global Risk Solutions Group as a Senior Vice President.  The Sompo GRS team was a focused marketing group writing insurance for Real Estate, Professional Services and Financial Institution clients. In 2018, Mr. Nardiello joined CNA in his current role establishing the new National Accounts Property Practice.

    Mr. Nardiello holds a BA in History from Loyola College (University) in Baltimore Maryland.

    Anne Seehusen, AVP/Loan Portfolio Manager, joined NorthMarq Capital in 2012 as a Loan Portfolio Analyst. Anne was promoted to Senior Loan Portfolio Analyst in 2014, to Associate Loan Portfolio Manager in 2015, and to her current position in 2016. Anne oversees a team of Loan Portfolio Analysts and Asset Managers handling a variety of loan events such as assumptions, transfers, easements, payoffs, partial releases and a variety of other functions for a portfolio of over 1100 loans for both Freddie Mac and CMBS Lenders.     Niral Shah serves as a Managing Director, Special Servicing of Rialto Capital Advisors, LLC, with active oversight of CMBS Special Servicing operations and responsible for performing loan consents, surveillance of Rialto Capital’s named special servicing portfolio, CMBS compliance and investor reporting/loan administration.  Ms. Shah joined Rialto Capital in 2009. Prior to joining Rialto Capital, she worked for Lennar Corporation as of 2006 as a member of the Corporate Investment Committee (CIC). In this role, Ms. Shah was responsible for underwriting all land purchases and managing assets in Florida and Texas. Ms. Shah was also a key member of a special projects team directly accountable to Lennar’s CEO and Senior Executives. Ms. Shah holds an MBA from the University of Miami, and a B.A. in Economics from Emory University.

    Leslie Hayton is a managing director within Wells Fargo Commercial Mortgage Servicing. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Leslie leads the Accounting, Investor Reporting, Data Steward and Client Solutions teams located in Charlotte, New York, the San Francisco Bay Area, and greater Washington, D.C. Leslie’s teams are responsible for CMBS reporting on over 1000 CMBS, GSE, CDO and Specialty Investors.

    Leslie has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry with an extensive background in financial controls and servicing. She has been with Wells Fargo and previously Wachovia for fifteen years. Prior to her current role, Leslie was the Product Controller for the Commercial Mortgage Servicing group as well as several other Wholesale business groups, including commercial mortgage originations teams. Prior to joining the bank, Leslie was the Treasurer and CFO for Triumphe Insurance Holdings, a wholly owned subsidiary of Volvo Financial Services. Leslie began her career in the financial services industry as a Senior Auditor with Deloitte & Touche LLP, a public accounting firm, where her specialty was financial services and complex financial transactions.

    Leslie received her M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro and her B.S. in Accounting from the University of Delaware. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of North Carolina and has earned her CCMS designation from the Mortgage Bankers Association. Leslie is active in the CRE Finance Council, currently chairing the Servicers Forum and formally serving as the IRP committee co-chair.   She has spoken on numerous panels on relevant topics to servicing industry as well as authored several articles in industry publications.

    Ronald Steffenino, Senior Managing Director, Newmark Knight Frank

    Ron Steffenino is a Senior Managing Director and Member of the Multifamily Capital Markets Executive Committee at Newmark Knight Frank (NKF), where he joined in 2016.  He is responsible for managing Servicing, Asset Management and Special Servicing on a $60B portfolio, representing over 3,100 loans.  Ron also manages the Business Support group, which is responsible for Cash Controls, T&E and AP approvals, Payroll and Business Continuity.  His additional responsibilities also include Servicing Strategy, Marketing, Recruiting and Business Development.

    Prior to NKF, Ron spent 19 years with Berkadia Commercial Mortgage, as the SVP of Operations and Special Servicing/Default Management.  Throughout his tenure, he was responsible for more than 250 employees in the US and offshore operations in India.  Previously, he held various management positions in both the residential and commercial servicing operations for Fidelity Bond & Mortgage Company.

    Ron holds a B.S. in Operations Management and Marketing from LaSalle University. He is a recognized industry leader, a member of the Freddie Mac Advisory Council and a frequent speaker at various industry conferences.

    Jan Sternin, CMB, Senior Vice President, Managing Director, Berkadia

    Jan Sternin is a Senior Vice President and Managing Director and is responsible for business development across the servicing platform. Jan has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Berkadia, she was responsible for business development, marketing and communications for Situs. Additionally, Ms. Sternin previously served as Senior Vice President of Commercial and Multifamily for the Mortgage Bankers Association and CEO of MISMO, the MBA’s technology initiative for creating uniform data standards for the real estate finance community. Previously, Ms. Sternin held the position of Senior Vice President at Midland Loan Services responsible for marketing and sales activities. Ms. Sternin has worked with numerous governmental agencies including the Resolution Trust Corporation, Office of Thrift Supervision, Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation, and the Federal Home Loan Bank System. Ms. Sternin currently serves on the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council Board of Governors. Ms. Sternin earned a B.S. in Business Administration, and an M.B.A. from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Ms. Sternin also holds the Certified Mortgage Banker designation.

    Brian Murray is the Deputy Director of the Office of Asset Management and Portfolio Oversight, which oversees more than 31,000 assets and provides rental assistance to about 1.2 million low-income and very-low income households. He is currently serving as the Acting Director of that office.  He has worked in financial brokering with Merrill Lynch before starting with HUD in 2007 as an underwriter in Single Family.  

    He holds a B.S. in Finance and Economics from Morehouse College in Atlanta. He earned his M.S. in Real Estate with a concentration in Development and Finance from Georgetown in Washington, D.C., where he currently teaches stochastic modeling.

    Sharon is the Chief Financial Officer for Greystone Servicing Corporation, Inc.   She has over 25 years in the mortgage finance area.  Sharon began her accounting career as an auditor for Coopers and Lybrand.  Her clientele included real estate clients, the International Monetary Fund and not for profit organizations.  She started her career in mortgage finance as the Controller at Washington Capital.  After helping sell the multifamily agency lender she was hired by The WMF Group (a publicly traded multifamily agency lender) which was purchased by Prudential Multifamily Mortgage.  After Prudential she continued her career at AMI Capital, Inc. assisting in the sale to Wachovia Bank, NA.  After the sale, Sharon stayed on to become the Director of Multifamily Agency Servicing for Wachovia which was acquired by Wells Fargo.  She joined Greystone in November 2005.  Sharon attended Vanderbilt University and obtained a Bachelor of Accountancy from George Washington University.  She is an active certified public accountant.

    David Croskery is a Senior Managing Director and leader of the Loan Servicing Group for HFF (Holliday Fenoglio Fowler, L.P.).  Located in the Houston office, he has over 23 years experience in commercial real estate.  He is primarily responsible for the management of HFF’s loan servicing operations, including portfolio management, staff supervision and acting as a liaison to borrowers and lenders.

    Mr. Croskery joined the firm in February 2004. Prior to HFF, he was a Corporate Real Estate Manager with Shell Oil Company and a Director at American General where he managed a $4B mortgage portfolio.  Mr. Croskery also served as a Senior Real Estate Consultant at Ernst & Young, LLP.

    Joni Brown-Haas is President of Prudential Asset Resources, the asset management and servicing group of PGIM Real Estate Finance.  She leads a team of 125+ professionals responsible for all servicing and asset management operations related to PGIM Real Estate Finance’s loan servicing portfolio across multiple capital sources valued at $98.2 billion as of March 31, 2019. Assets under management include Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, Ag, international and the company’s general account.

    Joni joined Prudential Asset Resources in 2005 and has served in various capacities. In her prior role as COO, Joni partnered closely with the senior management team to manage strategic planning and decision making, oversee the daily operational activities, disseminate internal communications, set goals for performance and growth, and promote company culture and vision.

    Jane A. Ingham is a Group Vice President & the Chief Asset Manager of M&T Realty Capital Corporation (“M&TRCC”), the commercial mortgage-banking subsidiary of Manufacturers and Traders Trust Company (“M&T Bank”). Ms. Ingham manages the Asset Management and Servicing Teams for M&TRCC and is directly responsible for overseeing all aspects of asset management, servicing and credit risk analysis on a $19.7 billion dollar portfolio of loans. Over the past 36 years Ms. Ingham has held several positions within the commercial real estate department of M&T Bank and its predecessors, before joining M&TRCC as an asset manager in 1998.     Leanne Spies, Senior Vice President, Asset Management & Operations, Freddie Mac

    Leanne Spies is senior vice president of Multifamily Asset Management  & Operations in the Freddie Mac Multifamily division. Spies directs six teams consisting of 280 professionals who are responsible for the systems and processes that customers and investors depend on every step of the way when they work with Freddie Mac Multifamily, from funding to loan payoff. These responsibilities include Seller/Servicer eligibility, loan servicing, special servicing, surveillance, and business technical change  management.  Spies also manages internal and external relationships with oversight bodies, audit, and regulatory agencies as well as risk and controls for the Multifamily Division.

    Spies reports to Deborah Jenkins, who is the executive vice president of Freddie Mac Multifamily. She previously held several positions of increasing responsibility at Freddie Mac Multifamily, including Vice President of MF Operations, Senior Director of Multifamily Asset Management Governance & Control at Freddie Mac, Director in Multifamily Asset Management and Director of Loan Accounting, Cash Desk, and Operational Close in Multifamily Operations. Spies began her career at Freddie Mac in 1997 as an Internal Systems Auditor.

    Spies has a Master of Accountancy in Information Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Business degrees from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is a non-practicing CPA.

    Robert E. Walton, Vice President, Multifamily Debt and Equity Asset Management, Fannie Mae

    Rob Walton is Fannie Mae’s Vice President – Debt and Equity Asset Management, reporting to the Senior Vice President – Multifamily Credit and Risk. Walton is responsible for managing the company’s portfolio of multifamily loans (Delegating Underwriting and Servicing and non-DUS), as well as its equity investments in multifamily properties.  

    Before assuming his current position in January 2014, Walton served as Director – Credit Risk Management in the Multifamily Affordable Housing group, where he was responsible for all aspects of credit and risk related to Fannie Mae’s lending activities in multifamily properties for moderate- and low-income families. He also served as Director – Credit Risk for Multifamily’s equity platform, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, Community Investments, Community Lending, and Acquisition, Development, and Construction.

    Prior to joining Fannie Mae in 2004, Walton worked in the commercial real estate divisions of a number of commercial banks, focusing on construction and affordable housing. 

    Walton has a bachelor of arts in political science from Washington and Lee University and a master of business administration from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. 

    Michael J. Palmer, Senior Vice President, Walker & Dunlop, LLC

    Michael Palmer, senior vice president, is responsible for managing Walker & Dunlop's Asset Management department including portfolio loan management, property monitoring activities and loan default management. Mr. Palmer joined Walker & Dunlop in 1992 and has 31 years of experience in the real estate finance industry. He has held several positions at Walker & Dunlop in both the servicing and underwriting departments and has managed the day-to-day operations of the Asset Management department since November 2001. In this capacity, Laura manages the insurance, escrows, taxes, new loan boarding and various other functions for a $60B portfolio encompassing 3,600 loans in 49 states. She has over 21 years of industry experience as well as over 26 years of experience in the insurance and servicing industry including residential servicing, insurance brokerage, and marketing experience. Laura has experience in many different portfolio types including CMBS, GSE, Private Investors, Private Label, Life Company, and Community Loans. She also has experience in successfully implementing and managing outsourced and off shore platforms in Ireland, Manilla, and Hyderabad.     Michael McDaniel, President, Fortress Risk Consultants, LLC

    Mr. McDaniel formed Fortress Risk in 2012 after spending fifteen years with a number of national and regional insurance brokerage firms, including Wells Fargo Insurance Services, Wachovia Insurance Services and Hamilton Dorsey Alston Company.  During that time, Mike served as the Client Executive in charge of all relationship matters for his clients, including risk management consulting, policy marketing and placement, claims management and loss prevention. Mike has worked with clients of all sizes, from large national property accounts to local technology companies.

    Fortress Risk Consultants specializes in providing high level risk management consulting advice, including providing insurance due diligence and program reviews. Fortress has particular expertise assisting lenders, financial institutions, real estate investment companies and private equity groups determine insurance adequacy before making loans or acquisitions. Mike and his colleagues have years of experience and familiarity with the insurance requirements of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, HUD and CMBS lenders.

    Prior to his insurance career, Mr. McDaniel spent 15 years in the banking industry, working for large regional and national banks. He worked in the mergers and acquisition and commercial real estate sectors of these institutions.

    The combination of experience in both retail insurance and commercial banking allows him to seamlessly understand the complexities of working with both insurance brokers, as well as investors and lenders (and their borrowers), while conducting sensitive insurance due diligence projects.

    Lindsay Ellingson, Commercial Insurance Manager, NorthMarq

    Lindsay Ellingson, Commercial Insurance Manager, has been with NorthMarq Capital’s Insurance department since 2014 and has been in her current role since 2017.  Lindsay oversees a team of analysts that manages insurance compliance for agency and life insurance company lenders.  Additionally, Lindsay is the Insurance department’s project manager for NorthMarq’s transition to a new servicing system, and is an active member of a stakeholder group responsible for the development of a new insurance module in that system.  Lindsay is the co-Advisor of a leadership development council within NorthMarq’s Servicing department and represents NorthMarq on Aeon’s Young Professionals Steering Committee.

    Christine had the pleasure and honor to be the feature story and cover of Mortgage Women’s Magazine for the March/April edition and now is a monthly columnist for that publication.   

    She wrote and released two bestselling books in early 2018 and won an American BookFest award for her sales book Wise Eyes: See Your Way to Success while receiving the Best Selling label for Clear Boundaries: Every Business Woman’s Essential Safety Guide as a Hot New Release on Amazon.

    On November 1st, Christine fully launched her Coaching company 20/20 Vision for Success Coaching & Consulting into the Mortgage finance and Real Estate world. When asked about future plans, she says in all seriousness with a huge smile, “I plan to go in and grab market share—again—from the boys who dominate this space in our field!”

    Amber Lawrence has over 15 years’ experience as a real estate/mortgage finance professional. Amber is currently the Associate Director of Education Operations & Programming for the Mortgage Bankers Association, managing certification and training programs. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of MBA's marquee designation program, the Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB®) including candidate matriculation, curriculum development and the examination process. In addition, she is responsible for the management of the Certified Residential & Commercial Certified Mortgage Servicer (CMS) & (CCMS) designations; Certified Residential Underwriter (CRU) designation; Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) designation. She also provides oversight on the facilitation of several MBA Education courses, including MBA’s premier classroom program, School of Mortgage Banking (SOMB). Amber participates as a mentor in the MBA@Work program and serves on the external committee for MBA’s Diversity and Inclusion efforts.  She is a graduate of Howard University with a B.A. in Legal Communication.
