    Joe Lovell, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Grandbridge Real Estate Capital

    Joseph Lovell (“Joe”), Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, joined Grandbridge Real Estate Capital in 1994. In his role, Joe is responsible for the overall direction and management of a staff of 100+ associates that oversee the asset management, operations, business systems/IT, third party loan closing and corporate initiatives for Grandbridge and its subsidiary BB&T Real Estate Funding.

    As an original associate of Grandbridge, Joe spent the first part of his 24+ year career establishing investor reporting processes and systems as well as the company's internal information management system, personally building and developing many of the databases that are still in active deployment today. In 2004, he was promoted to the role of Head of Loan Servicing, overseeing the growth of the portfolio from 1,500 loans with a UPB of $6 billion to 4,000 loans with a UPB of more than $29 billion for all major lender types including insurance companies, CMBS, FHA/HUD/Ginnie Mae, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as well as for Grandbridge’s own proprietary products marketed under BB&T Real Estate Funding. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2018 taking on additional corporate duties in addition to his existing servicing responsibilities.

    Joe received his Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Design from Clemson University and his MBA from the University of South Carolina. He is active in the MBA currently serving as the Chair of the Servicer Council as well as the Chair of the Servicing and Technology Conference Planning Committee and is a member of the Grandbridge's Board of Managers, the Grandbridge Risk Committee and the company's Senior Leadership Team.

    Sean D. Reilly, Managing Director, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.

    Sean Reilly is a Managing Director at Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.  He has 30 years in the financial services industry including 25 years in commercial real estate and CMBS.  He is currently managing various loan servicing operations for the Wells Fargo CMS portfolio.  Prior to Wells Fargo, he was a Managing Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch from 2003 to 2011 responsible for commercial mortgage primary and master servicing including all operations for loan servicing, reporting, accounting, technology, project management and business process improvement.  From 1994 to 2003, he was Senior Vice President of Loan Servicing Operations at CapMark Services for a $110 billion commercial loan portfolio.  Prior to 1994, he managed operations for residential mortgage backed securities and was a senior auditor for Arthur Andersen & Company.  He has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a major in Accounting.

    Laura J. Smith, Managing Director, Servicing, Newmark Knight Frank

    Laura Smith is a Managing Director at Newmark Knight Frank and is responsible for managing several of the operations teams within the Servicing Group. In this capacity, Laura manages the insurance, escrows, taxes, new loan boarding and various other functions for a $60B portfolio encompassing 3,600 loans in 49 states. She has over 21 years of industry experience as well as over 26 years of experience in the insurance and servicing industry including residential servicing, insurance brokerage, and marketing experience. Laura has experience in many different portfolio types including CMBS, GSE, Private Investors, Private Label, Life Company, and Community Loans. She also has experience in successfully implementing and managing outsourced and off shore platforms in Ireland, Manilla, and Hyderabad. Laura holds a B.S. in Marketing from Penn State University, Masters of Education from Arcadia University, and an MBA from LaSalle University. Laura is also the Co-Chair of the MBA Insurance Stakeholders Roundtable and is an active participant in various insurance industry regulatory discussions and various industry panels. Laura is a Licensed Life, Accident & Health and Property & Casualty Agent.

    Brett Adams, Senior Vice President, Berkadia

    Mr. Brett Adams, a Senior Vice President of Berkadia Commercial Mortgage, manages Berkadia’s Life Company Servicing Operations including client relations, asset management, and closing for a $16.7 billion servicing portfolio. Additionally, he is responsible for oversight of Berkadia’s various servicing technology initiatives. Mr. Adams joined Berkadia and its predecessor company in 2006 and has 16 years of experience in real estate.  Prior to joining Berkadia he worked in residential real estate lending with companies in both California and Arizona.  Mr. Adams graduated with a BA in US History from California Polytechnic University, Pomona.

    DeAnne Reed, AVP, Servicing Operations, Pacific Life Insurance Company

    DeAnne Reed is an Assistant Vice President in the Real Estate Investment area at Pacific Life Insurance Company.  She joined Pacific Life in 1998 and overseas the Portfolio Operations and Pacific Life Construction Loan Management teams.  Under her direction, Portfolio Operations is responsible for a wide variety of services including new loan setup and release, billing, IRS annual reporting, UCC filings and continuations, document control/file management as well as insurance, escrow, reserve and cash management.  The Pacific Life Construction Loan Management team provides client services, transaction analysis, construction loan administration and property inspections for the Pacific Life construction loan portfolio.  Her team is also responsible for the oversight, leadership and business direction for the mortgage loan system.  Ms. Reed graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. degree in organizational leadership from Chapman University.

    Paul J. Edgar, Senior Investment Professional, Nationwide Life Insurance Company

    Paul Edgar is a Senior Investment Professional leading the day to day loan servicing operations of Nationwide’s commercial mortgage loan portfolio. Since 2009, Paul has been primarily responsible for evaluating and managing the relationships with Nationwide’s correspondent servicers, the approval of borrower requests for consent, monitoring loan follow up items and collateral enhancements, enforcing the loan document covenants, quoting & coordinating loan payoffs and working across functional areas to update the internal view of the loans and properties in Nationwide’s portfolio. Prior to his current role, Paul has held positions with Nationwide Investments from commercial loan underwriting and acquisition, to the management and operations of Nationwide Investment’s Structured Real Estate securitization platform as well as a rotation to lead Nationwide Investment’s Project Prioritization efforts. He began his career at Nationwide over 20 years ago as an intern while attending Miami University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Finance.

    Nicole Malaske, AVP, Commercial Insurance Senior Manager, NorthMarq

    Nicole Malaske, Assistant Vice President - Senior Commercial Insurance Manager, joined the Insurance team at NorthMarq Capital in 2007.  She has been in her current role since 2018, overseeing a team that consists of two Insurance Managers and their respective teams, Insurance Risk Managers, several Insurance Analysts and the Insurance Coordinator who collectively manage insurance compliance for Agency and Life Insurance Company portfolios.  Nicole was recently appointed as one of the co-chairs of the MBA Insurance Stakeholders group starting in the Fall of 2019.  She was also a recent co-Advisor for NorthMarq’s Servicing Council that provided her with an opportunity to coach and mentor employees on their leadership development.
