    Seth D. Sprague CMB, EVP of Trading & Analytics, joined PHOENIX in 2013 after more than ten years with SunTrust Mortgage managing mortgage servicing rights (MSR) portfolio valuation process as well as their periodic MSR transactions. Seth’s primary responsibilities at PHOENIX include managing bulk and flow MSR transactions and offering strategic advice across PHOENIX’s250 plus clients. In 2017, Seth’s duties were expanded to include a more active role in the strategic leadership in PHOENIX Analytics with an emphasis on developing and providing strategic valuation solutions to meet the needs of clients. Seth has a total of over 25 years of mortgage banking and servicing valuation experience at a variety of firms including SunTrust Mortgage, Bank of America Mortgage, United Financial/Matrix Financial and KPMG LLP.  In 2018, Seth was selected as Secretary of the MBA’s Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) Society and continues to serve on a number of committees with the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) including the Financial Management Steering Committee, MBA’s Servicing Council for the 21st Century, MBA’s BASEL III and the Servicing Compensation Working Group. Seth is a frequent speaker at various MBA and other industry conferences often speaking on liquidity and the overall challenges present in the mortgage industry. Seth has been an instructor with the MBA’s School of Mortgage Banking (SOMB) program since 2007, teaching “Servicing/MSR Day” and also as an instructor for the MBA School of Mortgage Servicing.

    Mark A. Jones, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, AmeriFirst Home Mortgage

    Mark A. Jones co-founded Kalamazoo-based AmeriFirst Home Mortgage in 1986. As CEO of the community mortgage banker, Mark and the leadership team at AmeriFirst have seen the company grow to serve over a dozen states through nearly 70 branches and nearly 700 employees.  Named one of the “Fastest Growing Private Companies in America” by Inc. Magazine for the past 7 years in a row, AmeriFirst is the #1 USDA rural housing lender in the state of Michigan, the #3 FHA lender in Michigan, and one of the 50 largest FHA lenders in America. AmeriFirst services the loans it originates in house, and currently manages a servicing portfolio of about 4 Billion.  Mark currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Mortgage Bankers Association and Southwest Michigan First. He is an active member of the Community Home Lenders Association and Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association. In 2016 Mark was named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Michigan and Northwest Ohio.

    Paul A. Chmielinski, Senior Vice President, Director of Relationship Management, TIAA Bank

    Paul Chmielinski is the SVP, Director of Relationship Management TIAA Bank.  Prior to joining TIAA Bank, Mr. Chmielinski successfully built and led mortgage finance relationship teams at EverBank, MetLife, Santander, Bank of America and Fleet Bank. Mr. Chmielinski has 30 years of mortgage industry experience and has helped finance and grow hundreds of mortgage companies nationwide. Mr. Chmielinski is well regarded within the industry serving two terms as the National Chairman of the Risk Management Association’s Warehouse Lenders Roundtable, the premiere forum for Wall Street and Commercial Banks to address key industry risks and issues. Mr. Chmielinski has extensive experience in the financing of residential mortgages (including HECM Loans) as well as the financing of Mortgage Servicing Rights and Servicing Advances.
