    Hear from a panel of mortgage executives and experts who represent companies that have been acquired, have received a capital infusion, formed strategic partnerships or may be considering a graceful exit. A moderator will probe questions regarding the sale of one’s company or potential loss of control, including financial, organizational and psychological dimensions important to owners and employees. The current difficult market conditions will not be ignored but instead, addressed head-on. The panel will discuss the realities of today’s market, how to beat the odds and how prepare yourself as an owner for the best transition possible under the circumstances.

    Lauren Pryor, Partner, Mayer Brown LLP

    Lauren Pryor is a partner in Mayer Brown’s Financial Services Regulatory & Enforcement practice and co-lead of the Financial Institutions M&A group.  Lauren focuses her practice on counseling clients in M&A, corporate and business transactional matters in the financial services industry, including advising publicly held and private companies involved in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and transfers of assets, including mortgage servicing rights and whole loan sales.  Lauren has experience negotiating and drafting bulk and flow mortgage servicing rights purchase and sale agreements (including in connection with the Ginnie Mae PIIT program), whole loan sale agreements for performing and non-performing assets, correspondent agreements and servicing arrangements. Lauren has counseled clients in complex stock and asset-based transactions, joint ventures, financings, entity formation and business planning across industry sectors, including mortgage companies, loan servicers, banks, hedge funds and technology firms.

    Teresa Whitehead, Chief Executive Officer, Citywide Home Loans/CHL Mortgage

    Teresa has worked in the financial services sector for over 30 years, but found a passion for mortgages about 20 years ago. Since joining Citywide Home Loans in 2009, Teresa’s unsurpassed leadership ability has driven progression throughout the company, and the mortgage industry as a whole. Citywide, with Teresa at the helm, has managed to navigate through a slew of regulatory changes without losing sight of what matters most, the homeowners.  Teresa has a thorough knowledge of all aspects of manufacturing a loan, and has an uncanny ability to structure the most complicated transactions. This dedication to challenges and doing right by borrowers, has given rise to a client-centric culture at Citywide. This culture, dubbed Citywide’s “soul”, is very attractive to highly skilled sales people and innovative operations personnel, giving rise to the company’s impressive growth.  Teresa was a founding member, and the Secretary/Treasurer, of the Utah Mortgage Bankers Association. She served as a member of the CFPB panel on the impact of Dodd-Frank, and is currently the Co-Chair of the MBA IMB Network Call.

    Dan Diepenhorst is President and Chief Executive Officer of Legacy Mutual Mortgage.  After earning a Bachelor of Business Administration at Southwest Texas State University, Dan started his mortgage lending career in San Antonio with Mission Mortgage in 1992. Fast forward to June 2003 when Dan followed his dream and started his own mortgage company. This dream was accomplished by establishing a respected reputation as a reliable local mortgage banker in San Antonio for the past 13 years. As the VP of Sales for Legacy for 6 Years, Dan settled into the role as the respected leader of the company in the CEO/President role shortly after and has been there for 7 of the over 13 years of Legacy’s history, humbly boasting over 27 years of experience in the Mortgage Business.
