    Loretta Salzano founded Franzén and Salzano in 1997 after serving as in-house counsel to financial institutions. Loretta is also a founder of ComplyShare, a quality control and compliance company. Loretta advises banks, mortgage lenders, real estate brokers, title agents and other settlement service providers on how to increase their business while remaining within the confines of the laws of all 50 states and federal law including, but not limited to, TILA, RESPA, ECOA and HMDA. Loretta advises her clients regarding fair lending, compensation, marketing, licensure, fees, disclosures, reporting, and other matters related to their products and services. She drafts and negotiates contracts, including service agreements, compensation agreements, loan purchase and sale agreements and warehouse documents. Loretta also assists clients in responding to regulatory examinations. Loretta was named a Top Compliance Lawyer by Mortgage Compliance Magazine, is a Fellow of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Attorneys and serves as Legal Counsel to the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia and to Rainbow Village, a transitional housing program.     Fran Mordi, Assistant Vice President, Financial Management, Tax and Accounting Policy, Mortgage Bankers Association

    Fran Mordi joined the Mortgage Bankers Association in May of 2017 after 20 years of post-Law school experience in the areas of tax and accounting. As VP in the Tax, Accounting & Mortgage Markets group at the American Bankers Association for ten years, Fran worked with financial services entities on tax and accounting issues, specifically as subject matter expert and member engagement lead on policy and compliance. Fran worked on domestic and international issues impacting the industry, put together training sessions for members, managed several banker committees, and was a frequent speaker at various bank tax conferences and meetings. Fran has extensive experience working with the banking regulators, FASB, the Treasury and Congress as an advocate of the financial services industry. Before joining the MBA, Fran spent a few years at Deloitte Tax where she expanded her knowledge and experience in Tax Accounting as well as client relationship and management.

    Phillip L. Schulman, Partner, Mayer Brown LLP

    Phillip Schulman is a partner in Mayer Brown's Washington DC office and a member of the Consumer Financial Services group. His practice focuses on a range of matters related to real estate finance, mortgage banking and consumer finance in both the primary and secondary markets. He represents companies in the mortgage lending, title insurance and real estate industries in connection with administrative and regulatory compliance matters, including those involving the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Ginnie Mae, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He advises clients on matters related to approval, origination and servicing requirements under the US Federal Housing Administration's single-family loan programs. He also defends companies in connection with governmental audits, investigations and enforcement proceedings, before, among others, the CFPB, HUD, the VA, the DOJ and the Federal Trade Commission, with particular focus on defense of False Claims Act, Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act, Mortgage Review Board and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act enforcement matters. Mr. Schulman served as chief legal counsel for HUD’s Office of Inspector General and Mortgagee Review Board.     Owen V. Lee, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Owner, Success Mortgage Partners, Inc.

    Owen Lee is an attorney, co-owner and CEO of Success Mortgage Partners, Inc. (SMP) in Plymouth, Michigan. SMP has obtained mortgage lending licenses in 23 states and built a staff of over 120 loan officers and an overall staff of over 300. SMP has obtained its Full-Eagle designation with FHA for both forward and reverse mortgages. Gained Fannie Mae, FHA, VA, RD, and HECM lender approvals. Owen is also the co-owner and Managing Member of Title Partners, LLC a full service multi-underwriter title agency.

    Frank Fiore, President, Matchbox, LLC

    Frank Fiore began his career in the financial world on Wall Street. During this 10 year period, he worked at 3 firms, Nomura Securities, Lehman Brothers, and Morgan Stanley. During this time he gained an appreciation for the balance between the services needed by front office production units and the support needed from the operations teams. He has managed this balance successfully throughout his career which has aided him through all the companies he worked for.  In 1998, Frank had a unique opportunity to join a growing mortgage company that was close to home in Long Island, New York. Frank enjoyed a 15 year period at Premium Capital Funding, where after filling in multiple Operational positions over the years, such as C.F.O. and Head of Secondary, he became the Chief Operating Officer.  Frank Fiore is the President of matchbox LLC, a consulting and advisory firm focusing on mortgage banking operations in two areas: improvement in the use of technology and the understanding of the secondary markets. matchbox was created in 2010 to be a consulting and advisory firm that would not just advise companies but work with them in implementing improvements on the operational side that resulted in increased profitability. Since inception, matchbox has worked on over 250 successful engagements, mostly on the Encompass Loan Origination side and has assisted many companies in achieving their goals.     Nate Harbacek started his career at Oliver Wyman as a consultant in their Finance and Risk practice at the start of the financial crisis, where he specialized in mortgage credit risk modeling and bank analytics, restructuring, and corporate finance. He then spent four years at Goldman Sachs in investment banking, covering financials for M&A and capital markets, and covered large U.S. and international banks and the world’s largest mortgage companies. He was recruited to TPG Capital’s credit and special situations fund (TSSP), where he covered residential and small balance commercial real estate asset investing and financial institutions. He oversaw Roosevelt, TSSP’s residential mortgage servicer, asset manager, and originations platform. Currently, Nate is Head of Corporate development at Opendoor, where he runs business and corporate development, including partnership programs, and also co-runs Opendoor’s capital markets business.

    David Lowman was named executive vice president for the Single-Family business in May 2013. He is a member of the company's senior operating committee and reports directly to CEO Don Layton. As head of Single-Family, Mr. Lowman has broad responsibility for the line of business, including managing the company's relationships with its Seller/Servicers, the performance of Freddie Mac's guarantee book of business, securitization of new business, and all sourcing, servicing and business operations. He has worked in the mortgage and consumer finance business for over 30 years, serving at some of the nation's largest mortgage operations.     Andrew Bon Salle is Executive Vice President – Single-Family Business at Fannie Mae, a leading source of liquidity in the U.S. residential housing market. Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Bon Salle is responsible for all aspects of the Single-Family business, including engagement with customers, managing the performance of the credit portfolio, and overseeing all capital markets activities.     Marcia M. Davies is Chief Operating Officer for the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA).     Joshua Weinberg is a nationally recognized speaker, author, consultant, and leader in mortgage lending; specializing in integrating compliance and technology. He is currently Executive Vice President of Compliance, and has lead compliance since 2009 at First Choice Loan Services Inc., a Berkshire Bank Company, America’s Most Exciting Bank® He works closely with Federal and State Regulators including the CFPB, FDIC, CSBS/AARMR, and the HUD/FHA and participates with many industry associations. He is the immediate past Chair of the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Regulatory Compliance Committee, a member of ABA’s Residential Markets Committee, was previously Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for MISMO, and remains a member of the Registered Institutions Working Group for the NMLS, and an Advisory Board Member and Compliance Expert for Mortgage Compliance Magazine. Weinberg also consults privately for some of the top mortgage technology vendors in the country. Previously he worked for a major LOS vendor where he was in charge of Compliance, Government Loan programs and Reverse Mortgages.     Lisa Klika, Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Vice President, Guild Mortgage Company

    As chief compliance officer, Lisa Klika is responsible for Guild Mortgage’s risk management, compliance, quality assurance and legal functions.  Her responsibilities include managing state and federal regulatory agency filings, licensing, inquiries and audits, and analyzing regulatory changes and areas of risk to ensure Guild continues its commitment to customer service while advancing new compliance standards. She directs policy, operational and corresponding technology enhancements to meet multiple regulatory requirements, including the SAFE Act, RESPA reform and the Dodd Frank Act.  Ms. Klika joined Guild in 2003 as a compliance analyst. She held multiple positions with the company, including quality assurance analyst and quality assurance manager, before she was promoted to vice president in 2007. She was named senior vice president in 2013.  Ms. Klika has been active in the mortgage industry throughout her career. She was named to the Mortgage Bankers Association Future Leaders program in 2007 and to the California Mortgage Bankers Association Future Leaders program in 2009. She served on the MBA Residential Board of Governors Advisory Committee in 2010-11 and was chair of the MBA Regulatory Compliance Committee from 2010-13. She currently serves as the vice chair of the MBA State Legislative and Regulatory Committee.
