    Sheila leads the Quality Assurance team at Genworth Mortgage Insurance.  She has over 25 years of experience in mortgage lending in both the mortgage insurance and correspondent lending arenas.  Sheila has held various positions ranging from underwriting and third-party risk management to quality assurance.   She has an MBA from DePaul University and is a Certified Mortgage Banker. 

    Kat Foster, SVP Credit Risk, Guild Mortgage Company

    Kat Foster joined the company in 1986. Ms. Foster is responsible for credit approval, credit policy and risk management and has been essential in developing Guild’s loan origination and underwriting systems and in driving the company’s continued growth and risk strategies. She started as Underwriting Assistant and became an underwriter, obtaining her FHA and VA credentials in the early 1990’s. She advanced to Corporate Underwriting Manager in 2010 and Vice President of Underwriting in 2013. She is experienced with structuring loans and delivering them to the secondary market; her extensive knowledge in assessing risk and developing protocol led to her elevation to Senior Vice President, Director of Credit Risk in 2014. She is involved with the leadership program of the California Mortgage Bankers Association. She studied at Cannon Business School in Hawaii, graduating with a degree in business in 1982.
