    David Stevens, CMB is President and CEO of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). Prior to assuming this position, Dave served as the Assistant Secretary for Housing and Federal Housing Commissioner at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

    Dave has more than 30 years of experience in mortgage finance and has held several executive level positions in sales, acquisition, investment, risk management and regulatory oversight, including positions in senior management with Wells Fargo, Freddie Mac and World Savings. Prior to his appointment by the Obama Administration to serve at HUD, Dave was President and COO of the Long and Foster Companies.

    He is known inside the beltway as a key housing influential; serving as an industry authority on major mortgage finance legislative and regulatory issues. Dave is often quoted in the national media and regularly appears trade media on issues affecting the mortgage and housing markets.

    In 2013, Dave received the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) Founders Award, presented to individuals that have distinguished themselves by their work in support of sustainable Hispanic homeownership to improve the quality of life for Hispanics in America. He has been named to Bloomberg’s “50 Most Powerful People in Real Estate” list, and twice recognized as one of the “Top 100 Most Influential Real Estate Leaders” by Inman News and named one of Swanepoel REAL ESTATE TRENDS Report’s top ten "Newsmakers" of the year.

    He currently serves on the Hope Loan Port board of directors, the board of MBA Opens Doors Foundation, MBA's national 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization for philanthropic ventures, and as an advisory board member of the newly formed J. Ronald Terwilliger Foundation for Housing America's Families.

    Isaac Boltansky , Director, Policy Research , Compass Point Research & Trading LLC

    Isaac Boltansky is Director of Policy Research, Washington Policy Analyst at Compass Point Research & Trading. Mr. Boltansky coordinates the firm’s Washington policy analysis and follows financial services policy issues with a particular focus on mortgage finance, consumer lending, education services, and tax policy. Mr. Boltansky joined Compass Point from the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) Congressional Oversight Panel and previously worked as an analyst at EJF Capital, LLC.

    Kurt Pfotenhauer , Vice Chairman , First American Title Insurance Company

    Kurt Pfotenhauer joined First American Title Insurance Company as Vice Chairman in 2011. He previously served as chief executive officer of the Washington, D.C.-based American Land Title Association (ALTA), the national trade association for the title insurance and real estate settlement services industry.

    Prior to joining ALTA, Kurt served as senior vice president of government affairs for the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), where he was twice named one of Washington, D.C.’s top lobbyists. He previously served as chief of staff for Senator Gordon Smith (R-OR) and Rep. Denny Smith (R-OR), and was vice president of public affairs for United Parcel Service. Kurt is currently chairman of the board of MERSCORP, Inc., serves on the MBA's Board of Directors, its Residential Board of Governors and the MBA Open Doors Foundation Board of Directors. He is also the past chair of the MBA’s political action committee (MORPAC). In addition, he sits on the Housing Policy Council's executive committee at the Financial Services Roundtable.

    James M. Parrott , Senior Fellow, Urban and Founder , Falling Creek Advisors

    Jim Parrott is a senior fellow at the Urban Institute and owner of Falling Creek Advisors, which provides financial institutions with strategic advice on housing finance issues. Jim spent several years in the White House as a senior advisor on the National Economic Council, where he led the team of advisors charged with counseling the cabinet and president on housing issues. He was on point for developing the administration’s major housing policy positions; articulating and defending those positions with Congress, the press and public; and counseling White House leadership on related communications and legislative strategy. Prior to his time in the White House, Jim was counsel to Secretary Shaun Donovan at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

    Prior to his life in public policy, Jim was a litigator, first in New York with Sullivan and Cromwell, and later in North Carolina with Smith Anderson. He has a JD from Columbia University School of Law, an MA from the University of Washington, and a BA from the University of North Carolina. Jim also served in Sri Lanka with the Peace Corps.

    Jessica W. Killin , Assistant Vice President, Federal Government Relations , USAA Federal Savings Bank

    Jessica Killin is the Assistant Vice President of Federal Government Relations in USAA's Washington, DC office. In that capacity, she provides political, regulatory, and legislative advice and counsel to USAA’s key business leaders. She is responsible for interfacing with, and engaging, government officials about legislative and political issues that are critical to USAA, specializing in consumer banking and tax policy matters. Prior to joining USAA, Ms. Killin was an attorney in the Washington, DC office of Latham and Watkins, LLP where she represented large private equity funds and corporations in mergers, acquisitions and related corporate transactional matters. Ms. Killin worked in the United States Senate for U.S. Senators Bill Nelson and Tom Carper from 2001 through 2003. Ms. Killin also served in the United States Army from 1995 until 2000, where she was a Captain in the Military Police Corps.

    Mr. Gandhi has nearly 20 years of proven strategy, business process, program management and organizational change skills, leadership and delivery expertise. He also has extensive management and delivery experience working with diverse business clients and a solid track record delivering measurable success to clients across various business disciplines.

    Prior to his current position, Mr. Gandhi was senior director for organizational capability where he led the company’s global reorganization program in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Before joining Marriott, Mr. Gandhi was a senior consulting manager in Accenture’s Communications and High Tech practice for more than a decade, where he managed merger and integration programs as well as process reengineering efforts for large telecom clients. He also led diversity programs at Accenture.

    Rodrigo Lopez, CMB, is 2016 MBA Chairman-Elect and Executive Chairman of NorthMarq Capital L.L.C., a mortgage banking company dedicated to providing capital solutions for the multifamily industry.

    Rodrigo has been actively involved with MBA for almost three decades. He is a former Chairman of MBA's Commercial/Multifamily Board of Governors. He has served on the Association's Board of Directors since 2009, along with a previous stint on the board in 2003 and 2004. Rodrigo was the recipient of MBA's Distinguished Member Award in 2010, MBA's Burton C. Wood Legislative Service Award in 2002, and MBA's Master Faculty Award in 2000. He also received MBA's Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation.

    Rodrigo was the founder, and former President and Chief Executive Officer of AmeriSphere, which was acquired by NorthMarq Capital in 2015. Prior to founding AmeriSphere, he was Chief Lending Officer for a life insurance company, responsible for investments in commercial mortgage loans and real estate properties. During his tenure in the architecture and construction industry, he worked on a wide range of commercial and institutional projects. In addition to his work with MBA, he presently serves as Director of Mutual of Omaha.

    Michael Fratantoni , Chief Economist and Senior Vice President, Research and Industry Technology , Mortgage Bankers Association

    Michael Fratantoni is MBA's Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of Research and Industry Technology. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing MBA's industry surveys, benchmarking studies, economic and mortgage originations forecasts, industry technology efforts, and policy development research for both single-family and commercial/multifamily markets. Additionally, Fratantoni is president and member of the Board of Directors of the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO). He previously served as MBA's Vice President for Single-family Research.

    Fratantoni has had nearly twenty years of industry experience including risk management and senior economist positions at Washington Mutual and Fannie Mae. In these roles, he was responsible for assessing macroeconomic, regional, housing, and mortgage market trends, and providing technical expertise regarding credit pricing and mortgage policy issues.

    Fratantoni has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Washington, and Johns Hopkins, George Washington, and Georgetown Universities and has published papers on housing and mortgage topics in leading economics and real estate finance journals.

    Dr. Frank Nothaft , Senior Vice President and Chief Economist , CoreLogic

    Dr. Frank Nothaft is senior vice president and chief economist for CoreLogic, America’s largest provider of advanced property and ownership information, analytics and data-enabled services. He leads the economics team responsible for analysis, commentary and forecasting trends in global real estate, insurance and mortgage markets.

    Before joining CoreLogic, Frank served in a variety of leadership positions with increasing responsibility at Freddie Mac. Most recently, he was vice president and chief economist responsible for forecasts, research and analysis of the macro economy, housing and mortgage markets. Prior to Freddie Mac, Frank was an economist with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, where he served in the mortgage and consumer finance section and as assistant to Governor Henry C. Wallich.

    Frank has served as president of the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association, Board member of the Financial Management Association, Advisory Board member of the Real Estate Research Institute, Chair of the Real Estate Roundtable for the National Association for Business Economics, and as Editorial Board member of the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics.
