    mPower Founder Marcia Davies has shared the stage before with Mika Brzezinski, MSNBC’s Morning Joe Co-Host. But this year, they are taking it to the next level in a one-on-one personal interview.  Mika and Marcia will be digging deep and getting personal as they discuss navigating change and taking risks, plus offer take-away advice as they share their biggest lessons.



    Marcia M. Davies, mPower Founder, Chief Operating Officer, Mortgage Bankers Association

    Marcia M. Davies is Chief Operating Officer for the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). As COO, Marcia is responsible for ensuring cross-organizational alignment and facilitating the implementation of strategic initiatives, as well as maintaining oversight of key organizational priorities. She is also the lead strategist for MBA's external activities, providing leadership, guidance and overall management to the public affairs and marketing divisions. In addition, Marcia provides strategic direction and management of MBA's Conferences, Membership, Education, Information Technology and Office Services divisions. She also provides management oversight to and is a Board member of MBA's Opens Doors Foundation. Previously, Marcia worked at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), as Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Housing and Federal Housing Commissioner. She directed HUD's industry relations program to strengthen relationships, garner support, streamline communications and resolve policy and regulatory issues. Before joining HUD, Marcia spent 21 years at Freddie Mac, where she held a variety of officer positions in communications, customer outreach, marketing, servicer relations and policy. Marcia is the founder of mPower - MBA Promoting Opportunities for Women to Extend their Reach -- MBA's networking platform for women in the real estate finance industry. She is a member of the NAWRB Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Council (NDILC). Marcia is also a member of Women in Housing Finance and the International Women's Leadership Association. In 2015, she was honored by HousingWire as one of its 2015 Women of Influence.

    Mika Brzezinski, MSNBC’s Morning Joe Co-Host and New York Times Best-Selling Author

    Mika Brzezinski is the co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe and the author of three best-selling books. Her memoir All Things At Once became a New York Times best seller in January 2010.  Her second book, Knowing Your Value, which examines the role of women in the workplace, reached #1 on the New York Times bestseller list for business books in 2011. Her third book, Obsessed: America’s Food Addiction and My Own, debuted on the bestseller list in spring of 2013.  In 2015, Mika released Grow Your Value, which is a sequel to Knowing Your Value and explores the intersection between self-fulfillment, family, and career. In 2018, she re-released a revised and expanded version of her second book Knowing Your Value, titled Know Your Value. In the spring of 2019, Mika released her new book “EARN IT!: Know Your Value and Grow Your Career, in Your 20s and Beyond” with co-author Daniela Pierre-Bravo, which provides young women the tools to find their voices and build success. In 2020, Mika will release her next book “Comeback Careers: Rethink, Refresh, Reinvent Your Success—At 40, 50, and Beyond” with co-author Ginny Brzezinski. It will be a guide for reentering, reinventing, or rebooting your career at any age.  In 2014, Mika partnered with NBCUniversal to produce events based on Knowing Your Value throughout the country.  Know Your Value is a nationwide effort focused on empowering women to express their worth in business and in life.   Through these events, Mika will provide tangible, relatable advice that will support all women – at all ages and stages of their careers.  In 2016, Mika, along with co-host, Joe Scarborough, was inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame.  Prior to joining MSNBC in January of 2007, Mika was an anchor of CBS Evening News Weekend Edition and a CBS News correspondent who frequently contributed to CBS Sunday Morning and 60 Minutes. She reported live from Lower Manhattan for CBS News during the September 11, 2001 attacks.  A native of New York City, Mika is the daughter of Foreign Policy Expert and Former National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski.  She is a member of the Council of Foreign Relations and a Williams College alum.
