Bankers representing different markets and risk appetites discuss ways they are sourcing business and providing funds in today’s competitive environment.

    Chris Niederpruem, Managing Director, CIT

    Chris Niederpruem is a Managing Director in the Real Estate Finance Group at CIT. He is the head of the east coast office and leads teams responsible for loan origination and underwriting.  His teams focus on acquisition, bridge, and construction loans across various property types.  Prior to CIT, Niederpruem served as Director of U.S. Property Finance for Bank of Ireland where he was responsible for new business origination, underwriting and portfolio management. Before joining Bank of Ireland, he worked for the Commercial Real Estate Banking Group of Anglo Irish Bank in New York where he focused on underwriting commercial mortgage loans for major U.S. investors. He also worked in the U.S. commercial real estate lending group at the New York Branch of KBC Bank.  Niederpruem received a BA from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY.

    Kathleen Farrell, Head of Commercial Real Estate Business, SunTrust Bank

    Kathy Farrell is head of the Commercial Real Estate line of business for SunTrust, a full service provider of banking solutions to owners, operators and developers of commercial real estate across the country. She also has responsibility for Pillar/Cohen Financial, the newly acquired Agency origination, third party
    servicing and mortgage brokerage business. She is also responsible for the Real Estate Investment Banking unit which offers debt, equity and advisory solutions across the CRE Line of Business.

    During the course of her SunTrust career, Kathy has held several key positions as the executive risk officer for Commercial Real Estate, head of the REIT Banking Group and the REIT senior credit officer.
    Kathy has over 25 years of real estate finance and banking experience, including origination, underwriting, capital markets, work out strategies, and risk management. Prior to joining SunTrust, she was a commercial real estate credit executive at PNC Bank, covering commercial real estate markets from Ohio to
    Texas. Previously, she served as the managing director of debt capital markets at one of PNC’s predecessors, National City Bank, where she established a real estate syndications group. She spent the early years of her career at Fleet Bank and in real estate capital markets at GE Capital Corp. Kathy graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics.

    Gregg N. Gerken, Executive Vice President & Head of U.S. Commercial Real Estate Lending, TD Bank, N.A.

    Gregg Gerken is the Head of Commercial Real Estate of TD Bank in the US.  Gregg is responsible for a $18 Billion Investment Real Estate Portfolio serving Regional and Institutional Real Estate clients. He has over 30 years of banking experience, spending over half that time in the Real Estate Industry. Gregg Gerken joined Commerce Bank in 1997 as the Senior Lender for the Northern Region.  In 1998 he was promoted to Senior Vice President/Market Manager for Commerce/North.  In 2008 he was promoted as the North Market President of TD Bank, responsible for the Commercial & Retail Banking functions in Bergen, Passaic, and Hudson Counties, New Jersey & Rockland County, NY.   In August 2009, Gregg was promoted as Co-Director of Commercial Real Estate for TD Bank in the US.  In October 2010, Gregg was announced as the Head of Commercial Real Estate of TD Bank in the US.Prior to joining Commerce Bank, Gregg’s responsibilities included Real Estate Lending in New Jersey for Fleet Bank, National Westminster Bank & Citizens First National Bank, which were combined through mergers.  He held positions of increasing responsibility including Team Leader-Real Estate Lending & while at Citizens, Real Estate Division Manager.

    Gregg graduated from Ohio University in 1982 with a Degree in International Business and Political Science.

    He serves on the Executive and Development Committee for the New Jersey Chapter of the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation and is on the Board of Theatre Square Development for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

    In addition Gregg serves on the Executive Committee for the MBA, President's Council Member for Real Estate Roundtable.

    Gregg ran in his third Boston Marathon on April 21, 2014.

    Doug Faithfull, Executive Vice President Chief Lending Officer, Cambridge Savings Bank

    Doug Faithfull has been in Banking and Finance for almost 4 decades. He joined CSB in 1999 as head of CRE Lending and was named Chief Lending Officer (CRE and Corporate Lending) in 2011. Prior to joining Cambridge Savings, he spent 4 years as Director of Finance at Modern Continental Corporation in Cambridge, 8 years at Shawmut National Bank in Boston (CRE Boston Team Lead), and 9 years at Old Stone Bank in Providence, RI in the Real Estate Investment Group as a national lender. Doug started his banking career at City Federal Savings in NJ as an appraiser.  He sits on the Board of Cambridge Neighborhood Apartment Housing Services (CNAHS), a non-profit developer and manager of affordable housing properties in greater Boston.

    Faithfull is a graduate of Elon University, and is a member of NAIOP and the Greater Boston Real Estate Board Real Estate Finance Association (REFA). He is a resident of Cohasset, MA.
