    Kris D. Kully, Partner, Mayer Brown, LLP

    Kris Kully is a partner in Mayer Brown’s Washington office and a member of its Consumer Financial Services group. She advises providers of consumer financial products and services on federal and state compliance matters. Her practice includes advising on compliance with licensing, consumer protection, and other requirements facing mortgage and consumer lenders/brokers, servicers, and investors, as well as other participants in the real estate finance and consumer credit industries. She focuses on all the authorities of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, including the Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (SAFE), the Consumer Leasing Act, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), as well as similar state laws. Kris is a former lawyer for the Department of Housing and Urban Development. In that role, she advised the Department on its oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, RESPA, and the implementation of various housing and community development programs. She also worked in the financial services industry for a number of years.

    Thomas Kearney, Partner, Akerman LLP

    Thomas Kearney joined Akerman from the CFPB's Office of Regulations, where he led the team responsible for the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act rulemakings. During his years at the CFPB he was also substantially involved in the TRID/KBYO and ATR/QM rulemakings and worked on CFPB outreach efforts regarding the Dodd-Frank Act Title XIV rulemakings.  Thomas now assists lenders, investors, financial technology companies, and service providers with navigating the wide range of challenges that arise under financial services laws, including TILA, HMDA, ECOA, FCRA, RESPA, UDAAP, and licensing issues.

    Karen Cullen, CRCM, CrossCheck Compliance LLC

    Karen Cullen is a regulatory compliance and fair lending leader with over twenty-five years in financial services including banking, mortgage banking and electronic payment services. She has both corporate and organizational expertise in detailed compliance program implementation, quality control program management, fair and responsible banking program management, risk management, process development and improvement, training, and team member development. Prior to joining CrossCheck, Karen was the Director of Compliance Risk Strategy for Discover Financial, an $85 billion direct banking and electronic payment services company, where she managed a team of compliance and risk professionals that administered the enterprise-wide fair lending and responsible banking compliance risk program. Before Discover, she was the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer for Associated Bank, a $30 billion regional bank, where she directed and advised management on all aspects of compliance risk. She also held compliance roles with M&I Marshall and Ilsley Bank (now BMO Harris Bank) and Fleet Financial Group where she gained experience in loan processing, shipment, and bulk sales to the GSEs, and quality control.

    Deborah Ames Naylor, AMP, Executive Vice President and President, Mortgage Banking, Pentagon Federal Credit Union

    Deborah Ames Naylor is an Executive Vice President and President of Mortgage Banking for PenFed. Deborah’s career with PenFed spans 35 years, in which she served in many roles; including operations, consumer credit, collections and for the last 13 years in real estate lending and servicing. Since 2012, Deborah originated more than $18 Billion in new mortgages and she currently has responsibility for a servicing portfolio of over $19 Billion. At PenFed, Deborah established a network group of female professionals focusing on educational opportunities, volunteerism, and social activities and mentoring.
