    Monika L. McCarthy is the Managing Director & General Counsel at CrossCheck Compliance LLC.  Monika is a general counsel with over twenty years of experience in nationwide financial services companies. She has advised senior management and boards of directors on both crisis critical and fundamental legal issues, including guiding lenders through CFPB and other regulatory examinations and compliance with the subsequent requirements and reporting.  Monika joins CrossCheck from Stonegate Mortgage Corporation where she was Associate General Counsel. Previously she has been general counsel for Cove Financial Group, Stearns Lending and New Century Mortgage Corporation. Her background includes all phases of mortgage lending including origination, compliance, fair lending, regulatory affairs, litigation, secondary market transactions, and claims resolution; as well as general business operations including vendor management and the internal audit function. She has also been Senior Director, Compliance and Fair Lending at Treliant Risk Advisors focused on enforcement actions.

    Jerry Scipione , Director of Systems Compliance , LoanDepot.com, LLC

    Jerry Scipione, Director of Systems Compliance for loanDepot.com, LLC, has over 25 years of experience as a Compliance professional.  Starting as an analyst upon completion of his undergraduate degree, Jerry has worked in the compliance field for several financial services companies, including Avco Financial Services, Deutsche Bank AG, New Century Mortgage, Carrington Mortgage Services and Stearns Lending.

    Jerry has managed loan origination systems, regulatory examinations, legislative analysis, policy and procedures, licensing, TPO approval, and compliance support desks throughout his career.

    In his current role at loanDepot, Jerry manages a team of compliance analysts who carry out compliance related LOS user acceptance testing for new products, law changes, regression analysis, as well as LOS integrations with third party document providers and compliance engine vendors.

    H. Burton Embry , Executive Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer , Primary Residential Mortgage, Inc.

    Burton Embry is the Executive Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer for Primary Residential Mortgage, Inc. Burton is responsible for the Company’s risk management, quality assurance, and compliance management programs.

    Burton has more than 35 years in the financial and mortgage banking industry with more than 30 of those years focusing on mortgage compliance and quality assurance matters, He has become a nationally recognized compliance leader in the mortgage industry having been a successful regulatory compliance executive for industry leading mortgage lending companies such as GE Capital Mortgage, Banc One Financial Services, and NationsCredit.  Burton is an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Legal Issues and Regulatory Compliance Committee where he serves as the Chair of the Regulatory Compliance Subcommittee. He is also an active member of the MBA State Legislative and Regulatory Committee and the Quality Assurance subcommittee of the Mortgage Bankers Association, and the Mortgage Quality and Compliance Committee of the California Mortgage Bankers Association.  Burton is currently the President of the Mortgage Compliance Professionals Association of America and a member of the Association’s Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Mortgage Compliance Magazine Advisory Board.   

    Burton often speaks at meetings and conferences about industry issues related to loan officer compensation, mortgage loan originator licensing and state and CFPB examination practices and developments as well as other general compliance matters.
