    Tobias Moon is a partner in Husch Blackwell's Financial Services & Capital Markets Strategic Business Unit. His national regulatory practice focuses on compliance with federal and state requirements related to originating and servicing loans secured by residential real property. He regularly counsels lenders, servicers, investors, and settlement service providers with regard to compliance with various federal statutes and regulations including RESPA/Regulation X, TILA/Regulation Z, ECOA/Regulation B, HMDA/Regulation C, and UDAAP. Tobias also advises consumer financial services companies on complying with CFPB rules and exam readiness.

    Laura Jacobsen handles litigation, employment, and regulatory compliance matters for clients in a diverse range of industries, including construction, gaming, manufacturing, outsourcing, municipalities, and marijuana/cannabis. Clients contact her with day-to-day employment and compliance questions, as well as to handle their complex legal matters. Whether she is defending an employer before the Nevada Labor Commissioner’s office, guiding employers through sensitive internal matters, or litigating a class action, Laura makes client communication a priority. Her primary goal is to resolve these matters in a fast and efficient way so that her clients can return their focus to their businesses. Laura was named one of the 2018’s “Best Up & Coming Attorneys” and “Legal Elite” by Nevada Business Magazine. Prior to joining McDonald Carano, Laura was an attorney at Severson & Werson, focusing on litigation and compliance matters in the residential mortgage lending industry.

    Michelle R. Rodriguez is general counsel and chief compliance officer of Woodland Hills Mortgage Corporation, a mortgage lender, and R.C. Temme Corporation, a mortgage servicer, in Woodland Hills, California. Ms. Rodriguez is licensed as an attorney in California, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Ms. Rodriguez earned a Juris Doctor degree from Hamline University School of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and an M.B.A. from the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Ms. Rodriguez is a licensed real estate broker with an NMLS MLO endorsement. Ms. Rodriguez is a member of the board of directors of the California Mortgage Association (CMA), and is chairperson of CMA’s Dodd-Frank committee. She has presented many courses on Federal and State lending regulations, at CMA, the California Mortgage Banker’s association, the California Association of Mortgage Professionals, and the United Trustee’s Association.
