    A large wave of forbearance plans under the CARES ACT is set to expire in September and October 2021. Follow the data as we hear about the latest trends in forbearance reporting to gauge the magnitude of impacts of the expiration of the forbearance plans and discuss the transition to workout options for homeowners and potential pending foreclosures on lending volume and servicing portfolios.

    Marina Walsh, CMB, is Vice President of Industry analysis in MBA's Research and Economics Department, specializing in industry performance benchmarking for residential lenders and servicers. Currently, she leads the management and direction for the Mortgage Bankers Performance Reports, the Servicing Operations Study and Forum, the Peer Group Survey and Roundtable Program, the Mortgage Banking Compensation Survey Program, the Weekly Forbearance and Call Volume Survey and other ad hoc surveys and policy analyses. She is also MBA's spokesperson for the National Delinquency Survey. In addition, Walsh conducts specialty workshops and roundtables on a variety of current topics critical to the mortgage industry and provides program advisory support for conferences, particularly MBA's Accounting and Financial Management Conference and its National Servicing Conference. She is an instructor for several MBA Education webinars and courses, including the Schools of Mortgage Servicing and the Future Leaders Program. Results of her work have been published in all of the major trade publications as well as national and local newspapers. She is a frequent speaker at MBA and other industry events and conferences.  In 2020, Walsh received the Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation, awarded to seasoned professionals seeking the ultimate recognition for professionalism and experience in residential mortgage banking. In 2016, she was named to HousingWire's "Women of Influence" list. The list, which is based on nominations from the industry, highlights women who are making significant contributions to mortgage banking and real estate. Prior to joining MBA, Walsh was a manager in Ernst and Young's Real Estate Advisory Services Group where her focus was Federal credit program design, implementation and performance measurement. She started her career in the Management Training Program, then subsequently the financial planning division, of the Port Authority of NY & NJ. She holds a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Columbia University.

    Named a HousingWire “Woman of Influence”, and on Progress in Lending’s list of the “Most Powerful Women in FinTech”, Susan Allen is a patented inventor who now leads the Experian Mortgage product team. Experian Mortgage creates tailored solutions that reduce friction, better manage risk, enable targeted marketing, and support financial inclusion. As the Consumer’s Bureau, we put empowered consumers at the heart of everything we do.  Prior to joining Experian, Allen was responsible for the mortgage analytics and valuation products at CoreLogic, a leading provider of property data and analytics. Earlier in her career, Allen served as a risk management executive at Chase, GMAC, US Bank, and Comerica Bank where she was responsible for the evaluation, creation and execution of risk management protocols. Her responsibilities spanned mortgage, credit card, and commercial lending. During her tenure, she focused on fraud control, collateral risk management, credit risk management, and securitization. Allen is a geek at heart, earning an MBA in International Economics from Indiana University following her BA in Finance from Michigan State University. Recently she completed an Artificial Intelligence certification from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her Data Science Certification at the University of California, Irvine. Allen lives in Huntington Beach, California and enjoys mentoring youth as a Court Appointed Special Advocate and Girls, Inc volunteer.

    Nolan Turner, CMB, Managing Director, Carrington Mortgage Services, LLC

    Nolan leads the firm's strategic initiatives, institutional business outreach, growth and revenue objectives, and industry / government partnerships across Carrington's continuum of companies and 4,000 employees.  Carrington is a vertically integrated asset manager providing a range of investment opportunities and services encompassing all aspects of the single-family residential mortgage and real estate markets.     Carol Norton, CMB, SVP, Servicing Systems, Investor/Cash, New American Funding

    Carol Norton joined New American Funding in 2014.  Ms. Norton is a Senior Vice President and responsible for the Servicing Systems as well as the Servicing Transfer/On-boarding team.  Ms. Norton was a primary driver in the build of the Servicing division and servicing transfer of sub-serviced loans back into NAF in 2014.  She has continued to bring technology and automation to the Servicing team. Ms. Norton has over 30 years of mortgage and financial expertise including mortgage servicing, mortgage technology, reverse mortgage, vendor services and retail banking.  Prior to working at New American Funding, Ms. Norton was with Equator, LLC, Financial Freedom, IndyMac Bank, FiServ as well as several other financial institutions.
