    Kristin Messerli, founder of Cultural Outreach, specializes in improving wealth generation among underserved markets and Millennials. She built betterloanofficer.com, which is a successful sales training platform that directly supports production with Millennials and diverse segments. Kristin has worked with over 50 lenders and spoken at over 100 conferences. She is the co-author of MBA’s Section 342 Compliance Toolkit and also serves as the Managing Editor for Mortgage Women Magazine. Kristin holds over 13 years of experience working in multicultural business and social work. Prior to Cultural Outreach, she was a social worker and community organizer in the Latino immigrant community. She later consulted for international social enterprises with former McKinsey consultants at the University of Oklahoma.

    Marcia Davies , Chief Operating Officer , Mortgage Bankers Association

    Marcia Davies is Chief Operating Officer for the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). As COO, Marcia is responsible for ensuring cross organizational alignment and facilitating the implementation of strategic initiatives, as well as maintaining oversight of key organizational priorities. She is also the lead strategist for MBA's external activities, providing leadership, guidance and overall management to the public affairs and marketing divisions. In addition, Marcia provides strategic direction and management of MBA's Conferences, Membership, Education, Information Technology and Office Services divisions. She also provides management oversight to and is a Board member of MBA's Opens Doors Foundation. Previously, Marcia worked at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), as Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Housing and Federal Housing Commissioner. She directed HUD's industry relations program to strengthen relationships, garner support, streamline communications and resolve policy and regulatory issues. Before joining HUD, Marcia spent 21 years at Freddie Mac, where she held a variety of officer positions in communications, customer outreach, marketing, servicer relations and policy. Marcia leads MBA's networking platform for women in the real estate finance industry, mPower - MBA Promoting Opportunities for Women to Extend their Reach. Marcia is a member of Women in Housing Finance and the International Women's Leadership Association. In 2015, she was honored by HousingWire as one of its 2015 Women of Influence.

    Kimberly Lanham is the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Client Services at Digital Risk. Kimberly is a published author, requested speaker, and frequently sits on various symposium panels, as well as organizes national industry summits. As a current lead in Digital Risk’s Marketing, PR and Client Relations efforts, as well as former head of the company’s Project Management Office, Kim has a thorough understanding of all of the company’s solutions serving each sector of the residential and commercial real estate and mortgage finance sectors.     Megan Moore joined the Federal Housing Finance Agency in January 2014 where she serves as Special Advisor to Director Melvin L. Watt. Previously, Moore worked at the U.S. Department of the Treasury from 2009 to 2014, most recently as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Housing, Small Business and TARP in the Office of Legislative Affairs. Moore also worked in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2006 to 2009.

    Melvin L. Watt is the Director for the Federal Housing Finance Agency. Born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina on August 26, 1945, Mel Watt was a 1967 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina with a BS degree in Business Administration. In 1970 he received a JD degree from Yale University Law School and was a published member of the Yale Law Journal. Mel practiced law from 1970 to 1992, specializing in business and economic development. He served in the North Carolina State Senate from 1985 to 1986. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1993 to 2014 as a member of the House Financial Services Committee and the House Judiciary Committee. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate and was sworn in as the Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency on January 6, 2014.

    David H. Stevens, CMB is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA).     Sean Grzebin is a Managing Director of Consumer Originations, Home Lending at Chase. Sean is head of Home Lending Consumer Originations at Chase. He manages all mortgage origination activity, including sales, operations and underwriting, across the company’s consumer direct, home equity, and retail channels. Chase’s Home Lending business is ranked No. 2 in originations and servicing. Sean joined Chase in August 2011, previously leading Home Lending’s Default Servicing business and later the Retail originations channel. Sean has more than 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry, with an extensive background in centralized fulfillment and technology.     Mark S. Stewart is the Chair of Ballard Spahr LLP, a national law firm with more than 500 lawyers in offices across the United States.  Before assuming his full-time leadership position, Mr. Stewart successfully litigated complex commercial matters, including securities, antitrust, contract disputes, and product liability, on behalf of major pharmaceutical and other corporate clients. He also chaired the firm's Higher Education Practice Group and represented university clients across the country in commercial disputes and other civil litigation.
    Mr. Stewart is a member of Ballard Spahr's Diversity and Inclusion Council and is a recognized leader in the effort to bring greater diversity to the legal profession. He has been the recipient of a number of awards in this area, including the 2015 Albert S. Dandridge, III Business Law Section Diversity Award from the Philadelphia Bar Association and the 2015 Diversity Leader Award and 2012 CEO Leadership in Action Award from Profiles in Diversity Journal.     Cathy Pharis , Managing Director , Wells Fargo Multifamily Capital (WFMC)

    Cathy Pharis is the head of the FHA Platform for Wells Fargo Multifamily Capital (WFMC). In that role, she is responsible for overseeing the origination and underwriting of all projects financed by WFMC using HUD’s multifamily and healthcare mortgage insurance programs. Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2009, Cathy was with Deutsche Bank Berkshire Mortgage, Inc. (including predecessor companies) for over 25 years. She has extensive experience in unique financing structures, including mixed financing, LIHTC, and bond transactions. Cathy was awarded the Mortgage Bankers’ Association’s 2016 Commercial Real Estate Finance Distinguished Service Award.

    Kristy Fercho , President, Mortgage , Flagstar Bank, FSB

    Kristy Fercho joined Flagstar Bank in September 2017 as president of Mortgage, with responsibility for the direction and oversight of all aspects of Flagstar’s mortgage business and its continued expansion. Flagstar originated more than $33 billion in home loans in the last 12 months.  Prior to Flagstar, Fercho was with Fannie Mae for 15 years, most recently as senior vice president, customer delivery executive, responsible for the end-to-end strategy and business performance of all single-family customers in the western United States, resulting in acquisition volume of over $300 billion. Her experience in the mortgage industry is broad and deep, covering mortgage originations, fulfillment, risk management, secondary marketing, servicing, and regulation.  Also at Fannie Mae, she served as a Human Resources executive, leading the company’s culture transformation, guiding its people strategy, and developing programs to improve the performance, diversity, and satisfaction of its workforce.  Fercho serves on the board of directors of the Mortgage Bankers Association, as president of the board for Habitat for Humanity, Chicago, and chairman of the board for LIFT. MReport recognized her as one of the Top Women in Housing, and Diversity Journal listed her among its Women Worth Watching.

    Lissiah Taylor Hundley serves as the Vice President, Workforce Diversity & Inclusion, Military Hiring & University Relations for Comcast. In this role, she leads a team of talent acquisition and diversity and inclusion professionals who are responsible for the attraction and acquisition of diverse, high performing talent and employee programs focused on building an inclusive work environment. Hundley partners with and provides strategic guidance to business leaders and key stakeholders across the organization. She also leads the engagement with core diversity partners, universities, and organizations supporting workplace inclusion.  In her prior role, Hundley was the Diversity and Inclusion Strategist for Cox Enterprises, where she served as the company’s senior diversity and inclusion advisor, and partnered with Cox’s divisions, including Cox Communications, Cox Automotive, and Cox Media Group. Hundley worked closely with the executive diversity council, and was responsible for leading the build and implementation of the company’s first Employee Resource Groups. Prior to Cox, she served as the Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion at Wells Fargo Bank. There, her team was responsible for programs and initiatives supporting over 280,000 employees.  Hundley holds a Juris Doctor degree from St. Mary’s Law School in Texas. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential, and the USBLN Disability Equality Index Advisory Committee. She also served as a corporate mentor for Techstars Atlanta.     Gary Hayes is a member of the firm’s Leadership and Succession Sector at Russell Reynolds. He has extensive experience in the areas of succession planning, board effectiveness, leadership assessment and development. Gary is based in New York. Prior to joining the firm, Gary was a managing partner at his own firm. He spent 25 years providing senior-level leadership advisory consulting to organizations ranging from start-ups to large multinational corporations. His clients have included a wide range of financial professional services firms. Gary has published numerous articles on leadership development topics, ranging from the effects of "groupthink" at Enron to the need to integrate succession planning with strategic planning. In 2010, he published his book, Leading in Turbulent Times in which he documented the leadership responses of over two dozen CEOs around the world to the financial crisis. A licensed psychologist and psychoanalyst, Gary received a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Columbia University as well as Masters Degrees in international affairs and counseling psychology from Columbia and a B.S. in foreign service from Georgetown University. He is a member of the American Psychological Association.

    Erin Zolna is a member of the firm’s Leadership and Succession team at Russell Reynolds. She designs and leads assessment programs that contribute to effective hiring decisions, executive team benchmarking, succession management, leadership development, and mergers/acquisitions integration. In addition to these advisory services, Erin has played a leading role in the development of Russell Reynolds Associates' service offerings, such as cultural assessment/diagnosis, the measurement of executive fit to a given organizational culture, and more insightful board evaluation. Erin is based in New York.  Erin's recent engagements have focused on succession planning for organizations across sectors, ranging from an international securities firm to multiple energy companies. She leads considerable work within the Healthcare Sector, advising boards on CEO succession and developing high-potential healthcare talent. She also helps CEOs to better understand their organizational cultures, gaps and unique dynamics in order to create cultures that support their strategic goals. In addition, Erin partners with colleagues in the Private Equity Practice to conduct management team assessments, and is currently leading a CEO succession planning engagement focused on developing talent within an investment team.  Erin has been active in developing new insights in the areas of team dynamics and personality. She has written and lectured on various talent management and assessment topics. She has over 15 years of investment banking and capital markets experience at Morgan Stanley, the U.S. Treasury and Lehman Brothers.

Mrs. Brown is currently Director in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at Fannie Mae, where she is responsible for developing and implementing diversity and inclusion strategies for its Family Mortgage Business.  With more than 20-years of experience in housing and financial services, Mrs. Brown has been lauded for her success as a leader in business development, corporate social responsibility, diversity and inclusion, and community relations. Prior to joining the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, she developed and implemented strategic initiatives for multicultural and underserved markets as part of Fannie Mae’s Housing and Community Development Division and Single Family Mortgage Business.  Mrs. Brown holds a Master of Arts degree from The Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, she is credited with completing the Diversity Management Program at Cornell’s ILR School, as well as the Harvard Kennedy School for Executive Education, Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Program.     Keith Bickel , Senior Vice President, Neighborhood Lending and Mortgage Policy Executive , Bank of America

    Keith Bickel is the Senor Vice President, Neighborhood Lending and Mortgage Policy Executive for Bank of America, responsible for identifying opportunities to drive successful homeownership among low-to moderate-income borrowers, underserved communities, and multicultural borrowers across the economic spectrum as well as managing federal policy relationships on behalf of Bank of America’s mortgage business.  In his role, Keith is accountable for transforming the company’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) mortgage commitment into a strategy designed to increase demand, market share and consumer education. He is also responsible for aligning strategies to deepen relationships with multicultural, first time home buyers and low-to-moderate consumers. Relating to mortgage policy, Keith helps Bank of America’s senior executive team define positions on key mortgage-related topics; leads the mortgage business in evaluating the impacts of proposed regulatory and legislative changes; and manages the Bank’s long-term vision and strategy for housing and mortgage finance. He works extensively with the external industry and multicultural policy and trade group community, and engages directly with both executive and legislative policy-makers to shape policy options and outcomes.  Prior to joining the Bank, Keith was chief of staff for the COO at Freddie Mac with responsibility for overseeing their end-to-end technology transformation effort. Previously, he led the corporate strategy group there as well.     Jill Showell is the Senior Vice President for Government and Community Relations at Ocwen Financial Corporation. In this role, Jill manages the corporation’s relationships with Congress, regulatory agencies, and housing trade associations. Additionally, Ms. Showell established and manages Ocwen’s Consumer Advisory Council which is comprised of 18 non-profit community organizations and housing policy experts and is chaired by Ocwen’s President & CEO.  Ms. Showell has over 25 years of experience in public policy, government relations, and consumer outreach with a strong focus on mortgage finance issues. She was most recently the Vice President for Government Relations at the mortgage insurer, The PMI Group, where she built and managed their government relations office in Washington D.C. Prior to that, Jill spent 12 years in government and industry relations at Freddie Mac. She began her career on Capitol Hill working for a Member of Congress who served on the House Banking Committee and also spent two years at the Mortgage Bankers Association.

    Zeeda M. Daniele is New American Funding’s Community Lending and Strategic Partnerships National Director with responsibilities to help increase access to safe, sound and affordable mortgage options for low-to-moderate and middle-income households through partnerships with public and private stakeholders, businesses and community based organizations throughout the United States.  Prior to joining New American Funding in July 2017, Mrs. Daniele was the senior business manager of the Western Region for Fannie Mae for seventeen years with responsibilities to help preserve and increase affordable homeownership and rental housing opportunities for low-moderate income families and promoting neighborhood stabilization and revitalization in underserved communities.     Raj Date is a Managing Director at Fenway Summer Ventures and serves as the Chair of the Investment Committee. Raj serves on the Boards of Directors for two Fenway Summer-seeded startups: a mass-market credit card venture, FS Card, and a private student lender, College Avenue. He also serves as a Director for a number of other innovative, high-growth firms in consumer finance, including Prosper, the peer-to-peer lender; Circle, the digital currency firm; and Green Dot, a bank holding company. For Raj, Fenway Summer is the latest chapter in a long and varied career in and around U.S. financial institutions — as a senior policymaker, as a bank executive, and on Wall Street.
    Raj was the first-ever Deputy Director of the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). As the Bureau’s second-ranking official, he helped steward the CFPB’s strategy, its operations, and its policy agenda. He also served on the senior staff committee of the Financial Stability Oversight Council, and as a statutory deputy to the FDIC Board. Before being appointed Deputy Director, Raj acted as the interim leader of the new agency, serving as the Special Advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury. He led the CFPB for most of the first six months after its launch. Before his time in public policy, Raj was a Managing Director in the Financial Institutions Group at Deutsche Bank Securities, where he led the firm’s investment banking coverage for the largest U.S.-based banks and thrifts. His client work focused on calibrating credit deterioration, evaluating capital-raising alternatives, and generating liquidity. Before that, Raj was Senior Vice President for Corporate Strategy and Development at Capital One Financial, where he led M&A development efforts across the U.S. banking and specialty finance markets. He began his business career in the financial institutions practice of the consulting firm McKinsey & Company. He has also served as an attorney in both private practice and government service.

    Beth Mlynarczyk is Senior Vice President for Homeownership Expansion Strategies at Wells Fargo Home Lending; the nation’s largest home mortgage lender.  Beth is a member of the Housing Policy & Homeownership Growth Strategies Leadership Team which is dedicated to Advancing Homeownershipsm in America through the development of housing policy and strategies to implement and promote products and programs that fill gaps, at-scale, for customers and communities with specialized mortgage needs across the economic spectrum.  Prior to joining Wells Fargo, from 2014-2016 Beth was Vice President of Policy and Strategy at Two Harbors Investment Corp. She served at the United States Treasury Department as a Senior Advisor to the Counselor on Housing Finance Policy from 2012 to 2014 and in the Capital Markets Group, Domestic Finance from 2010 to 2012.     Schuyler Vaughan is the National Sales Manager at CIBC Bank, USA and is responsible for oversight of the Mortgage Banking and Community Lending sales efforts.  Prior to joining CIBC BANK USA, Schuyler worked in several managerial roles for two other major US Banks. Schuyler is currently finishing his 22nd Year in the Mortgage Banking industry.  Under Schuyler’s leadership, The PrivateBank and Trust Company achieved national recognition. In 2016, Schuyler and The PrivateBank were honored with the Inaugural Diversity and Inclusion Award by the National Mortgage Bankers Association for Market Outreach.

    Andrea Mitchell, a Partner in the Washington, DC office of Buckley Sandler LLP, advises financial services clients throughout the country on a wide range of administrative enforcement and regulatory compliance matters. She focuses her practice on fair and responsible financial services, including matters that involve disparate impact and disparate treatment, unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts and practices (UDAAP), and other unfair, predatory, or anti-discrimination issues.  Ms. Mitchell has extensive experience in counseling banks, finance companies, and third-party service providers on regulatory compliance and risk management with respect to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Truth in Savings Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Electronic Fund Transfer Act (ETFA), and UDAAP laws.     Tamara King is Vice President of Residential Policy and Member Engagement. She manages MBA's residential loan production area where she helps direct the association's policy development on regulatory, legislative, and industry issues. Additionally, she helps lead MBA's engagement strategy with several key member segments.     Zahira (Zah) Gonzalvo joined Flagstar Bank in 2013 and serves as senior vice president and operational risk director of Flagstar Bank. In this role, she is responsible for managing enterprise and operational risk, including model risk management, Volcker compliance and the enterprise risk framework and program for the bank. In addition, Gonzalvo leads the Diversity and Inclusion Strategy for Flagstar Bank since its inception in July 2016.  Gonzalvo has over 20 years of auditing, information technology, and risk management experience in the public accounting, auto manufacturing, and financial services industries. She spent 10 years at GMAC/Ally Financial, in different IT and risk managerial positions, most recently as Operational Risk Director for the Auto Finance and Insurance lines of business.     Jean-Marie Navetta is the Director of Equality & Diversity Partnerships for PFLAG National, leading its Straight for Equality project which aims to invite, educate, and engage new allies in the effort to achieve full inclusion for people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT).  She has been the lead architect of the project since its 2007 inception. She was the primary author of the guide to being a straight ally (now in its second edition), straight for equality in healthcare (2010), be not afraid – help is on the way: straight for equality in faith communities (2012), and the guide to being a trans ally (2014). Under her leadership, over 12,000 people have been trained, many in Straight for Equality in the Workplace events across the U.S. in more than 110 major corporations.  In 2011, she was the staff lead in developing and launching PFLAG Academy Online, a monthly web-based learning program for PFLAG chapters to build their skills and understand more about LGBTQ issues. In 2012, she was named a finalist for the Outie Award in the Trailblazer category by Out & Equal Workplace Advocates for her contributions to LGBTQ inclusion and education.  Jean-Marie is the former Director of Communications for PFLAG where she increased the organization’s visibility in outlets including The New York Times and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
