    Susan Sullivan, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Genworth Mortgage Insurance

    Susan Sullivan is Senior Vice President of Human Resources (HR) for Genworth Mortgage Insurance. She drives the overarching people strategy for Genworth MI, leading the employee relations, internal communications, learning & development, and facilities teams. Prior to joining Genworth in 2008, Susan held leadership and executive positions at Misys Healthcare Systems (Now Allscripts). She also has extensive experience in mergers, acquisitions, integrating cultures and setting organizations up for future success.  Susan is a volunteer with a number of non-profit organizations, as well as an advocate for many philanthropic efforts that Genworth supports.

    James McDuffie, Senior Vice President, Manager Diverse Lending, First Citizens Bank

    James McDuffie serves as Senior Vice President and Manager of Diverse Lending for Raleigh-headquartered First Citizens Bank. He is responsible for helping the bank create strategies and opportunities that increase home ownership across all of the diverse communities First Citizens serves. He also helps cultivate community relationships that are meaningful in the growing diverse marketplace.  McDuffie has more than 16 years of experience in the mortgage industry, with positions ranging from process design in the secondary market, origination and sales management. Eleven of the 16 years have been spent in business development in the diverse lending/Community Reinvestment Act marketplace, and he has held key positions meeting the needs of the ever-changing diverse lending environment and supporting affordable housing.

    Loreli Wilson, Director, Diversity & Inclusion Programs, Veterans United Home Loans

    Loreli Wilson serves as the director of Diversity & Inclusion Programs at Veterans United Home Loans, directing the diversity and inclusion initiative, including diversity recruitment, programming and college relations. She is dedicated to promoting an inclusive workforce conducive to Veterans United’s unique culture, and ultimately strives for each employee to feel comfortable in their own skin. She was acknowledged in Columbia Business Times’ 20 under 40 class of 2017, and has contributed to Veterans United Home Loans diversity initiative being recognized in 2018 with the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Residential Leadership Award for Diversity and Inclusion, the 2017 Corporate Leader of Inclusion + Innovation nationally by the Society of Diversity and locally by the City of Columbia with the Columbia Values Diversity 2018 award. With a background in Human Resources and Recruiting, she has volunteered her skills to such organizations as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Missouri as a board member, Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) MO as Director of Diversity and currently serves as the president of the Inclusive Impact Institute and as a board member of the Boone County Historical Society.

    Joe Palank, Assistant Director, Member Engagement, Mortgage Bankers Association

    Joe Palank is Assistant Director for Member Engagement at MBA. Among other tasks, he manages the IMB and CBCU Networks, and serves on MBA’s Diversity & Inclusion External Committee. Joe also oversees the D&I Leadership Awards Working Group and writes original content for MBA’s Diversity & Inclusion Resource Center. Previously, Joe worked at Living Cities, a non-profit that strives to build more inclusive economies in the US, and at the Department of Homeland Security.

    Miguel Narvaez, Chief Production Officer and Partner, Alterra Home Loans

    Miguel Narvaez is Chief Production Officer and Partner for Alterra Home Loans, responsible for overseeing sales, marketing, affinity programs, new business and driving the growth of Alterra in more than 32 states over the last eight years. In 2005, he founded Alianza Hispana, where he partnered with well-respected Realtors to educate the Hispanic community about real estate and mortgage through media, in both TV and radio shows in different cities across the U.S.
