    Donald Schmidt, Director, Deputy Chief Information Security Officer, Fannie Mae

    Don Schmidt joined Fannie Mae in August 2016 as the Director, Deputy Chief Information Security Officer, reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). In his current role, Mr. Schmidt is primarily responsible for Fannie Mae’s Information Security Architecture, Engineering and Operations, the company’s Cyber Threat Intelligence, Detection and Incident Management/Response and Identify and Access Management.  Mr. Schmidt is a retired military officer with over 27 years of leadership, and IT experience, primarily focused on Information Security. Prior to joining Fannie Mae, he was Vice President, Information Security at Fidelity Information Services (FIS) where he had matrixed responsibilities for the FIS enterprise-wide incident response, corporate investigations and threat intelligence programs.

    Brian Magruder, Ph.D, Senior Vice President, SunTrust Bank

    Brian graduated from Iowa State University with a doctorate degree in sociology and statistics. He’s applied his education in the financial industry and high-tech applications since 1993, with a specific focus on mortgage originations technology for the last twenty years. His career has spanned from technical project management, architecture, consulting, system redesign, and delivery management at several major financial institutions. Brian has been with SunTrust for over six years and is currently the Senior Vice President of mortgage originations technology, with responsibilities over retail, consumer direct, correspondent, and capital markets infrastructure and associated applications.

A recent graduate of the MBA’s Future Leaders program, Erin specializes in completing on-site due diligence assessments to evaluate compliance with third-party oversight regulations and mandates. This assessment includes evaluating contracts and internal controls relating to consumer privacy, information security, and the overall strength of the business.

    Prior to joining MQMR, Erin created, developed and implemented a full vendor management program for Churchill Mortgage Corp. Her practical knowledge of building and maintaining a vendor management platform, and the operational requirements needed to complete a thorough and sufficient onsite review gives her a unique and dynamic perspective with which to assist both lenders and vendors alike.

    Katie Klauss, Senior Vice President, Operations, Moria Development, Inc. dba Peoples Mortgage Company

    Katie is the Senior Vice President of Operations with Moria Development Inc, dba Peoples Mortgage Company. Katie has been with Peoples Mortgage for 17 years, holding various positions throughout her tenure. She is currently responsible for day to day operations with a focus on how to leverage new technology to create more efficient process flows. Prior to her role in Operations, Katie was the Chief Compliance Officer. During that time she worked to implement a robust Compliance Management System that included vendor management oversight.  Katie is a recent graduate of the MBA Future Leaders Program and her team received a First Place for their final presentation.

    Alex Wood has over 19 years of experience in Information Security and more than 24 years in IT. Alex is the CISO for Pulte Financial Services (Mortgage, Title, and Insurance) and has managed security programs and services at several major companies in different verticals, including telecommunications, energy, healthcare, and financial services. Additionally, Alex has served as a Director on the International Board of the Information System Security Association (ISSA) and is Past-President of the ISSA Denver Chapter. Alex is also Co-host of the Colorado = Security Podcast.

    Jonathan is a partner within PwC's Consumer Finance Group and has spent his career serving the mortgage industry in both audit and advisory capacities. Jonathan works with companies on strategic initiatives and achieving operational excellence across sales/operations, strategy, finance/accounting, data, technology, and risk/compliance. Most recently, he has led projects to design and implement technology solutions and processes for digital consumer portals, workflow capabilities, internal/external benchmarking and scorecards, finance systems, and regulatory compliance. He is currently leading PwC's efforts within the consumer finance vertical on CCPA, California's new data privacy act. Jonathan is a MBA Future Leaders program graduate.

    Erin Barry, Associate Vice President, Legislative Affairs, Mortgage Bankers Association

    Erin Barry is an Associate Vice President of Legislative Affairs at the Mortgage Bankers Association.  In this role, she represents MBA on Capitol Hill, primarily working with Senate Democrats.  Erin joined MBA in May 2018 after serving on the staff of several offices on Capitol Hill over the course of 15 years.  Prior to joining MBA, Erin worked for the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Development as the lead Democratic staffer for housing and mortgage finance since 2011. She worked for both former Banking Committee Chairman Tim Johnson (D-SD) and current Ranking Member Sherrod Brown (D-OH).  During that time, Erin helped craft and negotiate the “Johnson/Crapo” housing finance reform package during the 113th Congress, along with other notable work on committee-passed FHA reforms, community lender relief (including SAFE Act and QM/ATR amendments), USDA rural housing programs, and funding for the Hardest Hit Fund.  Before serving on the Banking Committee staff, Erin served on Senator Johnson’s personal office staff and also worked for Representative Dan Boren from Oklahoma. 

    Justin Antonipillai, Chief Executive Officer, WireWheel

    Before WireWheel, Justin most recently served as Acting Under Secretary for Economic Affairs at the US Department of Commerce during the Obama Administration.  In that capacity, Justin led a number of high-priority international efforts around privacy and security. From 2013 until 2016, Justin led the U.S. Negotiating Team in reaching the E.U.-U.S. Privacy Shield with Europe. Among other things, Justin led dialogues with the European Commission, outreach to industry and civil society groups, briefings for Congressional committees and EU Members States, and engagements with the CNIL and E.U. Member State Ministries and Data Protection Authorities. He also testified in the EU Parliament in support of adoption of Privacy Shield. During this effort, Justin led extensive dialogues with European Regulators on the General Data Protection Regulation, as the GDPR was being considered for approval.  In 2016, Director James Clapper recognized Justin with the National Intelligence Medallion.

    Daniel Hoye, Head of Privacy, Citizens Bank

    Dan is the Head of Privacy at Citizens Bank, reporting up to the Chief Privacy Officer, where he has served in a variety of privacy and compliance roles over the past six years. Dan combines eighteen years of experience specializing in privacy, compliance, and risk management both in his time at Citizens Bank, as well as ten years at Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he served a number of global organizations across a variety of industries perform complex risk assessments and regulatory implementations. As the Head of Privacy at Citizens Bank, Dan has built and oversees the Bank’s enterprise Privacy Program. This includes the ongoing monitoring of current privacy risk profiles, as well as the implementation of new and emerging privacy regulations and the resulting impact on the Bank’s Privacy Program and control environment.
