About the Course
MBA Education's School of Loan Origination (SOLO) II is a multi-week instructor-guided online course designed to increase high-level competencies for mortgage professionals with one to three years of residential mortgage origination experience. This live, online, and highly interactive course builds on the foundational concepts taught in School of Loan Origination and gives originators the tools and knowledge needed to grow their production to the next level.
Topics and content taught in School of Loan Origination II also have applicability for processors, loan assistants, and other employees that support the production business. Through a mix of live presentations, group discussions and case studies, students can expect to gain a thorough understanding of the latest regulations impacting mortgage production, products and pricing available in the marketplace, the documents needed to complete a quality loan package, and communication techniques to sell yourself and increase your purchase business.

The course is presented in a blend of self-study and instructor-guided learning, all from the comfort of your own desk. The course includes 1.5 live sessions and encourages participant interaction with the instructor and other industry experts. Course activities also include readings, homework activities, virtual field trips, a case study, quizzes, and online discussions. The course concludes with an online final exam.
Students who successfully complete the course requirements will receive a certificate of completion for employee training transcript purposes.

The course instructor is Debra Killian, a 20-year veteran who is still actively originating mortgage loans. Deb is an NMLS State Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator and Certified Residential Mortgage Specialist (CRMS) with over 35 years of financial, banking, accounting, and business experience.
SOLO II is designed Mortgage Loan Officers (MLOs) with 1-3 years experience in the position, Processors, and MLO Assistants.
Additional Course Information
- There will be 3-5 hours homework per week in addition to class time.
- Successful completion of this event will earn the participant 15 points toward MBA's Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) Designation.
