Dart Appraisal is an independent, nationwide Appraisal Management Company founded in 1993. We understand that appraisal management is not one-size-fits-all, and work closely with our partners to engineer a solution that meets their unique needs.

Dart takes pride in having one of the most experienced appraiser panels in the country. All of our appraisers are licensed and have more than 1,000 appraisals experience, which translates to roughly 5-8 years of experience. MBA NEWSLINK: What trends does your company see in the next few years?

DART APPRAISAL: a) Appraiser availability; b) Interest rates, and what effect they will have on origination volume; c) The resurgence of wholesale lending; d) Mergers and acquisitions activity; e) How lenders and investors approach their collateral review; and f) The emergence of internet-based lenders, and what impact they will have on the traditional origination channel.

NEWSLINK: What is the single most important issue facing your company right now?

DART: Appraiser availability. In today's high-volume market, appraisers are taking on more work than ever and turn times across the country have been on the rise. This, combined with the looming shortage of appraisers, is the most important issue facing our company today.

Dart Appraisal has always been focused on developing relationships the appraisers we work with, and one of the benefits of that relationship is loyalty from our panel members. That loyalty is especially beneficial to Dart Appraisal and our clients in markets like we're seeing today.

NEWSLINK: Why did your company join the Mortgage Bankers Association?

DART: We have been a member of the MBA for years. We believe it's a foundational part of any business to be active in your industry's association--not just for the networking and marketing opportunities available, but also to have access to the latest news and events MBA offers. Additionally, we appreciate the advocacy efforts the MBA puts forth on behalf of all of its members.

NEWSLINK: How has being a Premier level member benefited your company?

DART: We upgraded to Premier status very recently, but what interested us about the Premier level were the exclusive opportunities it provides. We look forward to attending select events offered as part of our Premier membership, as well as the exposure we'll gain from this membership in terms of advertising and event participation.
