CREF Careers

With the unemployment rate at 3.9 percent and more unfilled jobs than there are unemployed, MBA's Commercial Real Estate Finance (CREF) Careers effort is working to bring more -- and more diverse - candidates to the $3 trillion commercial real estate finance industry.

Now in its fifth year, there is a full slate of CREF Careers activities coming up in the fall of 2018, including:

- Three "traditional" CREF Careers college events
- A CREF Careers presence at three affinity events and
- A virtual career fair.

THREE "TRADITIONAL" CREF CAREERS COLLEGE EVENTS
MBA will host three "traditional" CREF Careers events in the fall -- one each in Washington DC (at George Washington University), Los Angeles (at UCLA) and Dallas (at SMU). The events will include outreach to students, faculty and staff at more than 20 colleges and universities; panel discussions with senior leaders and recent hires from participating firms; followed by a job fair/reception at which students will meet with representatives from sponsoring firms to learn about internships, jobs and careers in the industry.

CREF CAREERS PRESENCE AT THREE AFFINITY EVENTS
This year we are expanding our CREF Careers activities to include a presence at three affinity events. MBA will host a booth at Prospanica (September 12 - 14 in Milwaukee WI), the National Black MBA (September 25 - 29 in Detroit, MI), and the Atlanta University Center Consortium Career Fair (which brings together Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, and Spelman College in Atlanta GA on September 21).

VIRTUAL CAREER FAIR
As in year's past, MBA will host a virtual CREF Careers fair for students at colleges and universities not represented at our in-person events.

CREF Careers 2018 activities are made possible by its sponsors: Berkadia, Berkeley Point Capital, CBRE, Greystone, HFF, KeyBank Real Estate Capital, NorthMarq Capital, PGIM Real Estate Finance, Walker & Dunlop and Wells Fargo.
