Freddie Mac Names Sam Khater Vice President and Chief Economist, Ricardo Anzaldua as Senior Legal Advisor
Freddie Mac, McLean, Va., appointed Sam Khater as vice president and chief economist, responsible for providing insights and analysis on economic trends and policy issues affecting Freddie Mac and the housing market.
Khater joins Freddie Mac after 11 years at CoreLogic, where he most recently served as vice president of research and deputy chief economist. Prior to joining CoreLogic, he was a senior economist hwi Fannie Mae and an economist with the National Association of Realtors.
Freddie Mac also hired Ricardo Anzaldua as Executive Vice President and Senior Legal Advisor. After a transition period, he is expected to succeed William McDavid, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. McDavid recently informed the company that he will retire from Freddie Mac at the end of 2018.
Anzaldua was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of MetLife Inc., from 2012 until 2017. From 2007 to 2012, he held senior positions in the legal department of the Hartford Financial Services Group. He began his legal career at law firm Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton LLP, where he became a partner in 1999.
Mark R. Johnson Promoted to President of LRES
LRES Corp., Orange, Calif., promoted chief strategy officer Mark R. Johnson to president.
Johnson joined LRES a year ago, implementing strategic priorities and spearheading numerous core company initiatives, while also developing the company's business partnerships to position LRES for continued growth.
Johnson has more than 20 years of executive experience with Fortune 500 companies in the mortgage industry. Prior to LRES, he served as division president of Nationstar Mortgage Holdings, and as division president and chief operating officer of Lender Processing Services (now known as Black Knight Financial Services).
LERETA Taps William "Bill" Theisinger to Lead Technology Initiatives
LERETA, Covina, Calif., announced Bill Theisinger joined the executive team as chief technology officer, responsible for creating business platforms that allow for greater efficiencies both internally and for the company's customers.
Theisinger has nearly 20 years of experience. Prior to LERETA, he worked at YP.com (The Real Yellow Pages) for five years building big data platforms and the infrastructure to support them. He segued into owning his own business, Snipvue, focused on the evolution of technology opportunities in the genetics space. Theisinger also worked at tech incubator, IdeaLab in Pasadena, Calif. and GoTo.com, which was eventually bought by Yahoo!
Teraverde Adds Frank Poiesz as Chief Revenue Officer
Teraverde, Lancaster, Pa., hired Frank Poiesz as Chief Revenue Officer, responsible for overall marketing and sales.
Poiesz has more than 30 years of experience in banking and lending technologies, both within lending organizations and as an advisor. His previous experience includes financial technology development as well as advisory work with GSEs, large banks and lenders.
CFPB Taps Czwartacki as Chief Communications Officer
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau announced John Czwartacki transitioned from the Office of Management and Budget to the Bureau as its Chief Communications Officer and Spokesperson.
Czwartacki has 30 years of experience in public and private sectors and had been with OMB since early 2017. In November he assumed a dual role with the Bureau as a Senior Advisor.
Matic Adds Shaz Kojouri to Senior Management Team
Matic, Sherman Oaks, Calif., hired Shahrzad "Shaz" Kojouri as vice president of legal and compliance, responsible for corporate governance, regulatory compliance and vendor management.
A licensed attorney with more than 15 years' experience in corporate compliance, Kojouri previously served as assistant general counsel for nonprofit student loan provider AccessLex Institute. Before that, she oversaw regulatory compliance testing and Consumer Finance Protection Bureau readiness for national mortgage lender New Penn Financial. She first joined New Penn in 2009, in the immediate aftermath of the subprime mortgage crisis, and guided the lender through a time of intense regulatory change.
National General Lender Services Names Jody Gunderson and Greg Giammario as Executive Vice Presidents
National General Lender Services, Mesa, Ariz., appointed Jody Gunderson and Greg Giammario as executive vice presidents.
Gunderson and Giammario each bring more than 30 years of experience in specialized insurance products and services to their new roles.
Jeff Payne Joins Hunt Mortgage Group as Vice President
Hunt Mortgage Group, New York, hired Jeff Payne as Vice President, responsible for originating debt for conventional and small balance Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Loan Programs and Proprietary Commercial, Bridge, and Mezzanine Loan Programs for clients in the South Central United States. He will be based in the firm's Houston office.
Payne has more than 28 years of commercial real estate lending experience and comes to Hunt Mortgage Group from PlainsCapital Bank, where he was Senior Vice President of Commercial Real Estate Lending covering the Houston market. Prior to that, he served for 22 years as First Vice President and Houston Market head with Citibank's Commercial Real Estate Group (First Gibraltar/Cal Fed until it was acquired by Citibank in 1999.
Patrick McClain Joins Altisource as Senior Vice President of Hubzu Auction Services
Altisource Portfolio Solutions S.A, Luxembourg, appointed Patrick McClain as Senior Vice President of Hubzu Auction Services., responsible for growth of Hubzu's residential online marketing and auction business. He will oversee product innovation for the company's Online Auction, Live Auction, Short Sale, Claims Without Conveyance of Title and National Brokerage Services businesses along with Hubzu's client management program and business development strategy.
McClain joined Altisource from Auction.com, where he served as Senior Vice President of Asset Management, overseeing operations of the REO business unit including the asset management, contracting, title and closing groups. During a 20-year tenure in this industry, he also held senior executive asset management positions with GMAC Mortgage and Atlas Nationwide.
TCN Worldwide Announces Paul Licausi as a Regional Vice President
TCN Worldwide, Kansas City, Mo., appointed Paul Licausi as central regional vice president, responsible for overseeing operations, serving as an advisor to the member firms located in his region, as well as act as a liaison with TCN Worldwide corporate headquarters.
Licausi has been active in the industry for more than 30 years. He founded LS Commercial Real Estate with a focus on brokerage, management and development of commercial properties. He has completed numerous sale and lease transactions throughout his career of more than 5 million square feet of commercial property nationally, with an aggregate value in excess of $175 million.
