Vice President, Strategic Member Relations
Lionel Lynch is Vice President of Strategic Member Relations at the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). In this role, he is responsible for strengthening and managing relationships with senior executives of MBA member companies in order to maximize the value of their MBA membership and engagement. He ensures that MBA maintains a deep understanding of member companies' business models, organizational structures, legislative and regulatory priorities and operational challenges. Working together with MBA team members, Lionel provides comprehensive account management and support, identifies opportunities for MBA to further assist members, and connects members to MBA resources that can support the unique needs and goals of each company -- from leveraging MBA's unparalleled research data, conferences, and education programs to inform their individual business strategies, to better understanding each company's market experience with a particular product to help MBA engage on industry-wide policy concerns.
Lionel has a breadth of experience in real estate finance, housing policy, capital markets, and public-private development throughout the United States. Prior to joining MBA, Lionel was the Director of New Development and Strategic Planning at Roadside Development. Previously, he served as a principal in the Washington DC office of HR&A Advisors, a real estate and economic development consulting firm. He also held positions with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), including Senior Advisor for Housing Finance and Policy, where he where he advised the HUD Secretary and FHA Commissioner on FHA's single family and commercial portfolio, launched new product offerings with lenders and institutional investors, and participated in reforming numerous housing finance policies and regulations. Lionel received an AB from Harvard in Social Studies and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
