David Motley, Chairman-Elect of the Mortgage Bankers Association, is President of Colonial Savings, F.A. and its divisions -- Colonial National Mortgage and CU Members Mortgage. 

  Colonial Savings, a federally chartered thrift institution headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, maintains a network of eight depository branches and 23 loan production offices, and now services more than $26 billion in residential home mortgages.  With more than 36 years in the banking and mortgage finance sector, David oversees the management of consumer/commercial banking; consumer direct, retail and credit union mortgage channels; as well as human resources, legal and marketing functions.   

David has been an active member of MBA for more than two decades. He serves as the 2017 Chairman of MBA's Diversity and Inclusion Committee. He has also served on MBA's Board of Directors for six years, and has served on MBA's Residential Board of Governors (RESBOG) since 2008, including two years as RESBOG Chair.  David has participated on MBA's Secondary and Capital Markets, Residential Loan Production and Loan Administration Committees, and as the Servicing-21 Working Group Co-Chair. He has received MBA's Andrew D. Woodard Distinguished Service and Top 25 Member Heads of Mortgage Awards. Dedicated to grassroots advocacy, David has been an active member of the Texas MBA (TMBA) since 1995. With the TMBA, he has served on numerous committees including Government Relations, Convention, TMBPAC, Legislative, and Young Mortgage Bankers.  He served on the Board of Directors from 1999-2005.  

He has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, is a graduate of the School of Mortgage Banking, and holds a Certified Mortgage Banker designation.  David was also a member of the Community Bank Advisory Counsel for the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau in 2015 and 2016.
