MBA's Vermont Ambassador
Mark Severance has been actively involved in finance for his entire working career, and involved exclusively in the mortgage business since 1986. After stints with the Chittenden Bank in Vermont and Irving Trust in New York, Mr. Severance started Summit Financial Center, an independent mortgage banking company in Burlington, Vermont. Summit grew to become the largest independent mortgage company in the State, and operated independently until the end of 2007. At that point in time, Mr. Severance affiliated with Merrimack Mortgage Company of Manchester, New Hampshire. He continued to operate as Summit Financial Center through the middle of 2011, at which time the branch converted to Regency Mortgage Corporation, headquartered in Hooksett, New Hampshire. Mr. Severance now serves as a producing Branch Manager for Regency's only Vermont office.
Mr. Severance has served three separate terms on the Vermont Mortgage Bankers Association Board, serving as the President at the beginning of the Association 20 years ago, and is now again serving as President and Legislative Chair. He has also been active in various Realtor Associations on a local and state level, as well as serving as Treasurer and President of the Burlington Country Club. Mr. Severance has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Vermont, Class of 1977; he is also married to Terri Severance, and they live in Shelburne, Vermont.
