Jamie Korus Wins MBA Opens Doors Foundation Community Champion Award
“MBA is proud to honor Jamie Korus with our 2013 Opens Doors Foundation Champion Award,” said Debra Still, CMB, Chairman of the MBA Opens Doors Foundation. “Jamie has been an influential force behind the Foundation since its creation. Without her continued efforts – especially her innovative fundraising efforts within her company, Alliance Financial Resources – the foundation would not have been in a position to provide mortgage assistance grants to the dozens of families who have received them to date. I cannot think of a more fitting recipient for this new award, and I commend her for her generosity and commitment to a truly noble cause.”
Jamie Korus has served as President and Principle of Alliance Financial Resources, LLC since 2006. She serves on MBA’s Residential Board of Governors (RESBOG) and has served on the Residential Loan Production Committee, Membership Committee and MORPAC Political Advocacy Committee. Korus holds both Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.
The MBA Opens Doors Foundation was launched in October 2011, with an initial start-up contribution of $50,000 from the Mortgage Bankers Association and with MBA covering all administrative costs of the Foundation. The Foundation assists families with critically ill or injured children by providing mortgage assistance grants to help them keep their homes in the face of significant medical expenses. Having begun by serving families in the Washington, D.C. area, MBA Opens Doors has established a sound operational framework that will enable the Foundation to expand across the United States.
