Introductions
Monica Von Egidy is a manager in FICO’s Scores division. Her focus is building and maintaining the internal structure of the Mortgage and Capital Markets team as they grow their presence in the mortgage industry. She also works with tech vendors in the mortgage industry to adopt FICO® Score 10 T into their systems. Prior to joining FICO, Monica gained expertise in various roles of the mortgage industry, starting at Movement Mortgage as a mortgage trading analyst, and then moving to Cardinal Financial, where she spent a few years as a senior pricing analyst. Most recently, she worked as a production analyst for wholesale at Cardinal Financial, where she led channel projects focused on growing the business and improving processes. Monica holds a B.S. in finance from Wingate University.

Mark Jones is the 2024 MBA Chairman and President of Union Home Mortgage. Mark co-founded Amerifirst Home Mortgage in 1983, a company he grew from an individual location in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to over 80 full-service locations and 900 personnel nationwide. In January 2023, Amerifirst merged with Union Home Mortgage to form a top 40 national mortgage lender, where Mark now serves as President. Prior to the merger, Amerifirst was the No. 1 USDA lender and the No. 3 FHA lender in Michigan, and the No. 13 FHA lender in Florida. Amerifirst was also a Ginnie Mae issuer and serviced in-house a $6 billion loan portfolio. Amerifirst ranked as a Best and Brightest Company to Work for in the Nation for five consecutive years (2016-2020) and was named one of the top 50 Best Mortgage Companies to Work For in 2021. In 2016 Mark received the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for Michigan and Northwest Ohio. In addition to his service as MBA’s Chairman-Elect, Mark currently serves as Chairman of MBA’s DEI Advisory Committee. He previously served as co-chair of MBA’s Independent Mortgage Bankers Executive Council. Mark also serves as board member and Public Policy Committee Chair at Southwest Michigan First and serves as Chair of Southwest Michigan First PAC.

Naa Awaa Tagoe is the Deputy Director for the Division of Housing Mission and Goals at the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA). She is responsible for oversight of single-family and multifamily housing policy and regulatory capital policy for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (the Enterprises). She is also responsible for oversight of the affordable housing mission activities and fair lending compliance of the Enterprises’ and the Federal Home Loan Bank System. Naa Awaa also supports the FHFA Director’s responsibilities as a member of the Financial Stability Oversight Council. She assumed this role in July 2022. Previously, Naa Awaa served as the Principal Associate Director in the Office of Capital Policy at FHFA responsible for oversight of the Enterprises’ credit risk transfer programs, non-performing loan sales programs, Dodd-Frank Act stress tests, and financial eligibility requirements for approved mortgage insurers, mortgage sellers, and mortgage servicers. Prior to joining the predecessor agency of FHFA in 2003, Naa Awaa held positions in financial services and management consulting. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and her MBA from Stanford University.
