Robert (Bob) Broeksmit is President and CEO of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). Bob is a senior finance executive and corporate officer with a 35-year career in the mortgage sector. He has directed all aspects of lending activities, including marketing, sales, operations, secondary marketing, loan servicing, and default management. He has also served as a mortgage underwriting expert testifying on many large, high-profile cases. Prior to joining MBA in 2018, Bob served as President and Chief Operating Officer with Treliant, heading the firm’s mortgage litigation support practice and serving diverse financial services clientele including large banks, independent mortgage lenders, community banks, credit unions, and service providers to the mortgage industry. As a Washington-based financial services consultancy, Treliant’s mortgage practice included strategic advisory for executive management and corporate boards; litigation defense, including file reviews, litigation strategy, expert reports, and expert testimony; CFPB examination preparation and implementation of mortgage regulations promulgated by the CFPB and other regulators; and operational aspects of mortgage banking, ranging from origination to servicing and loss mitigation. Before Treliant, Bob held senior leadership positions in the mortgage business, including fourteen years with Chevy Chase Bank (including after its purchase by Capital One), where he was Executive Vice President and President of its B.F. Saul Mortgage Company subsidiary. Bob also was a Vice President at Prudential Home Mortgage for seven years. He has overseen annual originations of $9 billion, a balance sheet of $10 billion in residential mortgages, and a servicing portfolio of $20 billion. He also held positions at Great Western Mortgage, Krupp Residential Mortgage, and The Money Store. Bob has served as the Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Residential Board of Governors and as a member of its Board of Directors. Firms under his leadership have garnered multiple awards for servicing operations excellence, including Freddie Mac’s Tier One and Hall of Fame designations. He is a Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) and a graduate of Yale University.

Mr. Bailey is the Senior Managing Director and Chief Servicing Officer of Pennymac Financial Services, Inc. (NYSE: PFSI) and has held a variety of roles and responsibilities since joining Pennymac in 2010. Mr. Bailey is currently responsible for directing Loan Servicing and Portfolio Strategies. Since joining in 2010, Pennymac has grown its servicing portfolio from $2.5 billion to over $600 billion. Pennymac is currently the 2nd largest producer of residential mortgages in the U.S. and is the 5th largest servicer.
Michael (Mike) Dunlap is an accomplished leader in the mortgage banking industry, currently holding multiple prominent roles, including President and CEO of Merchants Bank of Indiana, President and COO of Merchants Bancorp, and Chairman of Merchants Capital Corp. With over 30 years of experience, Dunlap’s strategic expertise and dedication to excellence have been instrumental in the success of Merchants Bank and its affiliated companies. Beyond his roles at Merchants Bank, he serves on the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Residential Board of Governors and is a member of its Board of Directors. Dunlap’s journey in finance began as a Certified Public Accountant at KPMG, and he further developed his financial expertise through key positions at National City Mortgage (now part of PNC), Bank One (now JPMorgan Chase), and Waterfield Mortgage. He is a graduate of the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
Mike Henry is the Head of Mortgage Servicing at M&T Bank, headquartered in Buffalo, NY. In his role, Mike is responsible for P&L management of M&T’s $175 billion servicing portfolio, infrastructure scalability and stability, and driving continuous improvement in customer experience. In his 20 years at M&T, Mike has held positions in Corporate and Business Line Finance, CCAR/Stress-testing, and Credit Administration. Prior to M&T, Mike held roles in M&A and MSR advisory at Milestone Merchant Partners and Bayview Financial. He holds an MS in Finance from Boston College, a BBA in Finance from St. Bonaventure University, and is a CFA Charter holder.
Jay Jones serves as Executive Vice President of Servicing for Mr. Cooper Group, overseeing the Mr. Cooper mortgage servicing organization. Prior to this role, he held various key leadership roles in other organizations, strategically guiding mortgage servicers through the ever-changing industry landscape. He served as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for Celink and as Executive Vice President at CIT Bank, where he led the Residential Servicing Operations Division. Jones has more than 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry with responsibilities ranging across a variety of functions including leading and managing capital marketing, analytics, credit management, servicing and special servicing. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge.
David Sheeler joined Freedom in 2014, and currently serves as President of Residential Servicing as well as Executive Vice President of Correspondent Lending. Under his leadership the division has grown its whole loan and flow MSR acquisitions groups by over 500%. Dave has held various roles in the mortgage industry including Executive Vice President of Correspondent Lending and branch operations at W.J. Bradley Mortgage Capital and the positions of Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Pricing & Trading Operations Manager in the Correspondent Lending Division of JPMorgan Chase. Dave has also worked at Countrywide Financial in Warehouse Lending and served in various roles at BNP Paribas, included Mergers & Acquisition, Divisional Chief Financial Officer.
