He has written or co-written more than 120 books, including the acclaimed Missing Manual technology series, several For Dummies titles, the Pogue’s Basics trilogy, and How to Prepare for Climate Change. His forthcoming 2026 book, Apple: The First 50 Years, chronicles one of the most influential companies of our time. A summa cum laude graduate of Yale with distinction in music, Pogue spent a decade conducting and arranging Broadway musicals before turning to journalism. His honors include a Loeb Award, two Webby Awards, and an honorary doctorate in music—a testament to his unique blend of creativity, curiosity, and insight into how technology is reshaping our lives.
