State Monthly Activity Report

Are you looking for real-time data on how your mortgage applications compare for the states where you operate? Do you want to know how the refinance share of business is changing on a month-to-month basis?

The State Monthly Activity Report (SMAR) provides state-level information on retail/consumer direct applications, giving you the ability to benchmark your application volume by purpose, loan size, term, government share and other characteristics. You will be able to see how quickly a particular state is growing relative to nearby states and on a national level. The report also includes changes in applications by loan tranche and purpose so you can track changes in small to large loan amounts.

Provided in an EXCEL format, the data can be easily downloaded from your inbox and quickly imported into analytical models. SMAR data for the month will be available the following Month (i.e. January data will be available by mid-February). Data is for retail/consumer direct applications only.

Some of the metrics in the report include:
  • Purchase and refinance share in a state and on a national level
  • Changes in monthly and annual applications for purchase and refinance loans by state
  • Average loan sizes by product types
  • Loan balance share for purchase and refinance loans
