In these roles Ashwin advised the CEO’s of multi-national insurance companies on strategy, new product launches, and financings. At Advocate, Ashwin leads a team of 60+ insurance experts and technologists providing insurance reviews to lenders across pre-closings and servicing. His team oversees tens of thousands of loan reviews a year across commercial real estate including Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, HUD, CMBS, Construction, Bridge and other private lenders. He also directly oversees the product strategy and development of Advocate’s insurance compliance technology automation/AI platform which reduces loan time to close by 50% and improves the operational efficiency of reviews by 5x, delivering significantly lower insurance operational costs and high quality to lenders compared to legacy solutions.

He began in origination and asset management roles at top-tier CRE investment firms, where he underwrote and managed approximately $10 billion in loans. He later co-founded Nativ, a full loan lifecycle data and reporting platform for CRE lenders, which was acquired by Built Technologies in 2022. At Built, he helped lead the integration of Nativ into Built’s broader CRE platform and headed the Asset and Portfolio Management Solutions team, supporting institutional lenders in modernizing infrastructure and automating workflows. Kaufman holds a degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Rutgers University.
