Ken Markison Legacy Achievement Award
The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) honors our industry’s compliance experts every year by awarding the Ken Markison Legacy Achievement Award.
The award was established in 2017 when Ken Markison retired from the MBA. During his career at the MBA, Markison was Vice President and Regulatory Counsel. He helped champion the Certified Mortgage Compliance Professional (CMCP) certification and designation program. He was at the forefront of educating members and also the principle architect behind MBA’s Compliance Essentials program.
Ken, Of Counsel at Weiner Brodsky Kider, PC lends his extensive experience and knowledge of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Housing Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), and almost every other law governing the primary and secondary mortgage markets to lenders, vendors, trade associations, and other organizations. He is a well-known spokesperson for the sector to lawmakers and regulators at all levels of government, and he frequently speaks at conferences across the nation.
