Executive CMB
The Executive Certified Mortgage Banker (Executive CMB) designation recognizes seasoned mortgage banking leaders who have demonstrated distinguished industry experience and executive-level responsibility. Unlike the Residential CMB track, the Executive CMB allows experienced professionals to leverage their leadership background in lieu of the traditional point-based educational requirements. To qualify, candidates must have significant executive experience in real estate finance and be employed by an MBA member company. All candidates must complete the MBA CMB prep course and successfully pass both the written and oral exams.

Candidate Profile
The Executive CMB is intended for professionals who:
- Currently serve in a senior leadership or executive role with strategic, managerial, or enterprise-level responsibility
- Are employed by an MBA member company
- Possess broad, cross-functional industry knowledge gained through leadership roles rather than through formal coursework
- Seek formal recognition of their executive expertise through the Certified Mortgage Banker designation
Requirements
At least 10 years of executive-level experience in the mortgage banking or real estate finance.
Current employment in a senior management or executive role.
Employment must be with an MBA member company.
The Executive CMB Process

Enrolling in the Residential CMB Prep Course is the best way to prepare for the Written and Oral Exam. Review the Written Exam outline with your CMB Sponsor. Learn more about CMB Sponsorship. - Take Your Online Written Exam & the Oral Exam
Once your CMB Sponsor has confirmed your readiness to take the exam, schedule your online written exam by emailing [email protected]. After you pass your written exam, you participate in a one-hour oral exam. Learn more about the CMB Exam process. - Graduate & Be Recognized
Upon your graduation, you will receive your official plaque at the CMB Graduation Ceremony and Reception, held at MBA's Annual Convention & Expo each year.
Executive CMB Costs
Total cost for the executive CMB program, including all exams, certificates and test materials is $2,500.
