Introduction to Mortgage Banking

Welcome to an exploration of the wide-ranging world of single-family mortgage finance. This course is designed to provide you an interactive and comprehensive overview of an industry that is a major driver of the global economy, employees hundreds of thousands of individuals, and provides financial stability and path for wealth creation for millions of Americans.

In a format that's convenient and flexible for students and companies, the course unveils the basic tenets of mortgage lending's basic business model and how profit is generated from the lending cycle. Once this foundation is established, the course moves to the three critical phases of the loan lifecycle: loan production, loan servicing, and secondary marketing. As a conclusion, the final session will clarify the critical importance of regulatory compliance, the necessity of quality assurance and quality control, and the ever-evolving technology that propels mortgage finance into the future.

The content is presented in short, bite-sized learning elements and includes pre-recorded videos, learning activities, downloadable guides and worksheets, knowledge checks, and discussion boards. Additionally, MBA will hold two current events and networking sessions during the course where students can get their questions answered from an industry professional and learn from their peers.

This course is FREE for full-time college students! Contact the MBA Help Desk for details.
