Joe Grassi, loanDepot’s Chief Risk Officer, is responsible for the enterprise risk management program. A proven senior leader known for delivering results, he brings expansive expertise in the real estate and financial services industries, along with substantial regulatory experience, helping ensure the company delivers on its commitment to superior customer service. Grassi’s responsibilities include setting the overall direction and strategy of the risk management program, including the design and implementation of both enterprise and loan-level governance policies and procedures. He provides strategic counsel on managing potential risks to reduce the frequency and severity of operational issues and losses and to position the company for continued growth. Grassi brings more than 35 years of experience in real estate finance, consumer lending compliance, and law to the role, including leadership positions at Celebrity Home Loans, HUD, Guaranteed Rate, Prospect Mortgage, and Freddie Mac. He also spent 20 years as a senior attorney at Fannie Mae, where he served as lead counsel for the multifamily and single-family businesses and as interim general counsel and corporate secretary, overseeing the legal, government, and industry relations departments and advising the CEO and Board.

She has held nearly every role in the mortgage industry over a 30+ year career, giving her a rare, end-to-end understanding of lending, operations, and executive leadership. She is nationally respected for her commitment to empowering others and advancing the mortgage banking profession, earning recognition such as MPA’s Hot 100 and Elite Women honors. In 2015, Sue authored Crazy Lucky Girl – Do YOU Have the Keys to Success?, which became an Amazon bestseller. She is a contributing author to Women Who Dream, where she shares a pivotal leadership evolution story—strategically merging her company with a larger organization to scale impact while improving quality of life.
Sue Woodard brings more than 30 years of financial services and mortgage industry experience, strategic vision and leadership to her role as a Strategic Advisor at STRATMOR Group. Having held many executive and leadership positions throughout her career, Woodard’s specialties are in customer experience, operationalizing excellence in the customer and employee journey, content strategy, and developing personal brand and presence via speaking, media and social media. Woodard started her career at the ground level in financial services, became a top producing originator, then leveraged her knowledge to become a highly acclaimed industry speaker, subject matter expert and technology executive. Sue has been awarded numerous industry honors, including the NMP Most Powerful Women in Mortgage Banking, the MPA HOT 100 list, the Housing Wire Vanguard Award, and the NMP Most Innovative Award. Sue is known for her genuine enthusiasm and passion for the mortgage industry, the people working in it, and the customers across the nation that the industry helps create “home.” She applies her breadth of experience and depth of relationships to add tremendous value to each of the clients she serves. Throughout her career, delivering an excellent experience that goes beyond what is expected is the standard – which made joining the team at STRATMOR a perfect fit. A graduate of Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Woodard completed a double major in Finance and Business Management with a minor in Economics.
