Patti Dietz

Chief Risk and Legal Officer, Lennar Mortgage

Patti Dietz has served as Lennar Mortgage's Chief Risk & Legal Officer since Lennar Corporation (NYSE: LEN) acquired CalAtlantic Homes (formerly NYSE: CAA) in February 2018. Prior to the acquisition, Dietz served as Associate General Counsel of Financial Services for CalAtlantic Homes. She was General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer for American Residential Properties, Inc. (formerly NYSE: ARPI) prior to its merger with American Homes 4 Rent (NYSE: AMH). Dietz also held legal and compliance roles with increasing responsibility at GE Capital (formerly part of NYSE: GE) and Fidelity National Information Services (NYSE: FIS). She started her legal career in 1999 at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, as part of its Financial Institutions practice group.

James M. Milano

Partner, Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP

Jim Milano is a partner at Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP, advising financial institutions on regulatory risk and compliance in financial services projects. He works with mortgage companies, banks, consumer finance entities, and secondary market investors to navigate state and federal lending laws. His work includes guiding clients on digital marketing compliance under RESPA, implementing FHA’s Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) program, and developing home equity investment and leasehold mortgage programs. Milano also focuses on structuring private reverse mortgage loan programs and assisting lenders, servicers, and settlement service providers with regulatory matters. He supports clients through regulatory inquiries, investigations, and enforcement actions. Earlier in his career, he contributed to the design of a patented Sharia-compliant financing arrangement, continually addressing operational risks and adapting to evolving legal and regulatory landscapes.

Tobias P. Moon

Partner, Chapman and Cutler

Tobias Moon, Partner at Chapman and Cutler, counsels financial services companies, from startups to the country’s largest financial institutions, on commercial lending, regulatory, compliance, and product innovation issues. He advises depository institutions on building, reviewing, and auditing compliance management systems to minimize risks associated with consumer and commercial financial products, including mortgage, automotive, and personal loans, equipment finance loans and leases, and loans secured by commercial real estate. Moon also has extensive experience helping fintechs, marketplace lenders, and small-dollar lenders establish compliance management systems to address the regulatory issues impacting the design and delivery of new financial services products.
