Jeff Barringer is a Member in the Consumer Financial Services and Business Law groups of McGlinchey’s Albany office. He regularly advises financial institutions, mortgage lenders and servicers, and other providers of consumer financial services on compliance with state and federal laws. His work includes providing counsel regarding licensing, usury restrictions, preemption, and other regulatory compliance matters, including responding to regulatory inquiries and examination issues.
Mitch Kider is the Chairman and Managing Partner of Weiner Brodsky Kider PC. He represents banks, mortgage companies, residential homebuilders, real estate settlement service providers, credit card issuers, and other financial service companies in a broad range of matters. As a litigator, Mitch has defended clients in more than 150 class-action lawsuits in federal and state courts across the country. He also advises clients on federal and state regulatory compliance matters. He represents clients in investigations and enforcement actions before the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, Ginnie Mae, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and various state and local regulatory authorities and Attorney General's offices. In addition, Kider acts as outside general counsel to smaller companies and special regulatory and litigation counsel to Fortune 500 companies. He has written extensively on issues involving lenders and other settlement service providers and speaks frequently on regulatory and litigation matters before trade associations and other industry groups.
Kathleen Massimo is a Partner in Houser LLP’s New York and New Jersey offices. Massimo represents corporations, financial institutions, corporate directors and officers, and other institutional clients. She has successfully tried cases in both New York and New Jersey. As an active litigator, Massimo represents clients in all aspects of litigation, including evidentiary hearings, mediations, depositions, bankruptcy proceedings, discovery disputes, and motion hearings. Massimo’s focus is to creatively resolve matters for her clients quickly and efficiently. She also works with clients to develop best practices and legal compliance. A substantial portion of Massimo’s practice is also devoted to Appeals. She has successfully argued before the New York and New Jersey state Appellate Courts and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Before joining Houser, Massimo clerked for the Honorable Joseph L. Yannotti, P.J.A.D. of the New Jersey Appellate Division and was a litigator at a large New York firm.
Haydn Richards, a partner at Bradley, is one of the foremost leaders in state financial services law and licensing matters. He counsels clients on all aspects of financial services licensing and compliance, state law, the NMLS, and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau-related compliance matters. Selected by his peers to serve as chair of the Industry Advisory Council of the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators from 2018 to 2020, Richards regularly interacts with state regulators on behalf of industry members. He has individually resolved financial services enforcement actions in 45 states and the District of Columbia, more than most other attorneys in this space. Richards also regularly assists clients with the industry’s largest transactions in a creative, company-focused manner.
