Owen Lee is the 2026 MBA Chair-Elect and Chief Executive Officer at Success Mortgage Partners, Inc., (SMP). He co-founded the company with his father, Vincent, in 2002. Under his leadership, SMP has closed billions of dollars of mortgage loans yearly since 2016, is licensed in 42 states, and has more than 600 employees. Lee is also a Managing Member of Title Partners, LLC, a full-service title insurance and escrow services agency. An active leader in the mortgage and financial services sectors, Lee serves on MBA’s Board of Directors, is Co-Chair of its Independent Mortgage Bankers Executive Council, and is currently the 2023-2024 Chairman of MORPAC, MBA’s political action committee, where he has been a successful political fundraiser, helping to advance the association’s top legislative priorities.

Joseph M. Gormley was confirmed by the United States Senate on December 18, 2025, to serve as Ginnie Mae's 19th President. Mr. Gormley previously served as Ginnie Mae’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. As President, Mr. Gormley will lead the agency's mission to connect the U.S. housing market with global capital markets, helping to provide low-cost financing for federal housing programs and make affordable housing more accessible to millions of Americans. He brings considerable experience in housing finance, policy, and regulation, and has consistently championed market-based solutions to expanding affordable homeownership and improving economic outcomes for families nationwide. His leadership at Ginnie Mae supports the agency's role in ensuring liquidity and stability in the secondary mortgage market. Prior to joining Ginnie Mae, he served in several senior positions at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), including Deputy Assistant Secretary for Single Family Housing at the Federal Housing Administration and Chief of Staff to the Deputy Secretary. In these roles, he led high-impact policy and operational initiatives that advanced housing access and institutional accountability. Before his tenure at HUD, Mr. Gormley served as Assistant Vice President and Regulatory Counsel at the Independent Community Bankers of America, where he focused on federal regulatory policy and compliance matters affecting community bankers. He also held positions at the Mortgage Bankers Association and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), where he advised on housing finance and capital markets regulation. Mr. Gormley holds a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Matt Jones was appointed by President Donald J. Trump to serve as Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for the Office of Single Family Housing within the Office of Housing at the Department of Housing and Urban Development. In this role, Matt is responsible for overseeing the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) insurance-in-force portfolio of more than eight million loans with an unpaid principal balance of approximately $1.38 trillion at the close of fiscal year 2024. Additionally, he is responsible for managing all aspects of FHA’s single family housing operations including origination and servicing policy, quality control and lender enforcement, institutional risk management, and information technology strategy. Matt is also responsible for the management oversight of more than 700 employees. Immediately prior to joining FHA, Matt served as the Associate Vice President for Government Housing Finance at the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), where he oversaw MBA’s government lending portfolio and managed the organization’s Residential Board of Governors (RESBOG). He previously served as Senior Advisor for Capital Markets at Amerifirst Home Mortgage. From 2017 to 2021, Matt was a senior U.S. Senate staffer, serving as Senior Counsel to both the Senate Banking Committee and Senate Finance Committee under Senator Mike Crapo (R-ID). In this capacity, he played a key role in drafting and negotiating several pieces of legislation that became law, including the CARES Act, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, and the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act. Matt began his career as a Mortgage Loan Originator at Amerifirst Home Mortgage, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Matt holds a BA from the University of Michigan, and a JD from Georgetown University.
