William Kooper is Vice President of State Government Affairs and Industry Relations at the Mortgage Bankers Association and in that capacity leads MBA's advocacy efforts at the state and local level as well as MBA's engagement with mortgage banking associations across the country. William is responsible for the MBA State Legislative and Regulatory Committee, staffs the State Association Relations Committee and leads the State Relations Initiative -- MBA's program to partner with state associations to align business development, communications and advocacy interests.

Kelli Burke is Vice President of Commercial Multifamily Finance (CMF) for the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). In this management role, Burke develops and executes MBA’s CMF member engagement strategy across the various sectors within commercial real estate finance and serves as a staff expert on several business functions, including originations, underwriting, securitization, servicing, and asset management. Her responsibilities also include leading the planning and content development for MBA’s annual CREF Convention and Expo, and Servicing and Technology conference. Burke has over two decades of experience in commercial real estate and hospitality. Before joining MBA, she held several hospitality management roles, including as sous chef, food event planner, and restaurateur for businesses in Dallas and San Diego. Prior to that, she worked for 11 years in expanding roles at Prudential Mortgage Capital Company, LLC, in Dallas, including as Vice President, Information Systems, where she partnered closely with the commercial servicing business of the company. Burke also worked for seven years in commercial servicing at GMAC Commercial Mortgage, a predecessor company of Berkadia, in Atlanta. Burke holds a Masters Certificate in Applied Project Management from Villanova University, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Phoenix in Dallas, and an Associate of Science in Culinary Arts from the Art Institute of California.
Venita Murray is a Director of Member Relations at the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). She is responsible for managing and developing existing and new member relationships with MBA members. Murray collaborates with residential member companies and internal colleagues to identify opportunities to strengthen engagement and deepen utilization of MBA education, policy, advocacy, research, networking tools, and resources. She has been with MBA for more than 37 years and has served in several departments and roles. Murray holds an MBA in Business Administration, a Certificate in Leadership Essentials from eCornell, and has recently earned her AMP (Accredited Mortgage Professional) designation.
David Upbin is the Vice President of Education and Strategy. at the MBA. Joined the staff in 2013, he is currently responsible for the overall success of MBA Education, the premier training provider for the single-family and commercial/multifamily real estate finance industry. During his time at MBA, Upbin has played a significant role in the development and execution of several key initiatives, including Mortgage Banking Bound, Commercial Real Estate Basics, the Certified Mortgage Compliance Professional (CMCP) designation, and Education Advantage, a training package geared towards Independent Mortgage Bankers and community-based lenders. For his duties related to MBA strategy, he helps develop, track, and manage annual MBA performance goals and objectives, and plays a key role in overseeing the MBA's cross-departmental strategic initiatives. Prior to joining MBA, Upbin was a Client Relationship Manager at Cambridge Associates, LLC, where he led teams of client reporting specialists responsible for performance measurement and monitoring for institutional clients.
