Joe Grassi, loanDepot’s Chief Risk Officer, is responsible for the enterprise risk management program. A proven senior leader known for delivering results, he brings expansive expertise in the real estate and financial services industries, along with substantial regulatory experience, helping ensure the company delivers on its commitment to superior customer service. Grassi’s responsibilities include setting the overall direction and strategy of the risk management program, including the design and implementation of both enterprise and loan-level governance policies and procedures. He provides strategic counsel on managing potential risks to reduce the frequency and severity of operational issues and losses and to position the company for continued growth. Grassi brings more than 35 years of experience in real estate finance, consumer lending compliance, and law to the role, including leadership positions at Celebrity Home Loans, HUD, Guaranteed Rate, Prospect Mortgage, and Freddie Mac. He also spent 20 years as a senior attorney at Fannie Mae, where he served as lead counsel for the multifamily and single-family businesses and as interim general counsel and corporate secretary, overseeing the legal, government, and industry relations departments and advising the CEO and Board.

John Coleman is a partner at Orrick. He represents banks, nonbank financial institutions, corporations, and individuals in supervisory and enforcement matters initiated by government regulators, as well as in private civil litigation and internal investigations. He also counsels clients on compliance with consumer protection laws and supervision preparedness. Prior to joining Orrick, Coleman was a partner at Buckley LLP following 15 years in federal government service as a litigator and advisor to senior policymakers, most recently serving as Deputy General Counsel for Litigation and Oversight at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). He joined the CFPB soon after its creation in 2010 and was part of a core group of attorneys responsible for interpreting the agency’s authorities under the Consumer Financial Protection Act and establishing procedures for exercising those authorities. He was the first attorney to appear in court on behalf of the CFPB and was involved in every significant litigation matter prior to his departure. During his tenure, Coleman advised every CFPB director and senior officials on complex legal and policy matters and managed the Bureau’s litigation and appellate teams, including representation before congressional oversight bodies.
Matthew Previn is a Partner for Consumer Financial Services at Paul Hastings. He brings extensive experience representing banks and nonbank financial services companies in a wide range of regulatory examinations, investigations, and enforcement actions brought by federal and state government agencies, including the CFPB, OCC, FDIC, FRB, DOJ, FTC, HUD, and state attorneys general and state banking regulators. In addition, he counsels financial institutions on consumer finance issues and advises boards and management on regulatory expectations, new products and services, and corporate governance. He also represents financial services companies in class actions and commercial litigation nationwide. During his more than two decades of practice, he has represented many of the country’s leading financial services companies in precedent-setting matters.
Michelle Rogers is a highly respected financial services enforcement lawyer serving as the Global Chair of Financial Services at Cooley LLP. She is a trusted adviser and first call for financial institutions in high-stakes litigation and enforcement matters, including government investigations, regulatory examinations, class actions, complex litigation, compliance and regulatory matters, and internal investigations. She is known for providing thoughtful, practical advice. Rogers’ clients appreciate her deep understanding of complex regulatory issues, her ability to translate those concepts into operational terms, and her proactive approach to problem-solving. She also co-leads the firm’s State AG practice, having represented clients in every state in the country, and serves on Cooley’s Board of Directors.
Nanci Weissgold co-chairs Alston & Bird's Financial Services Group and advises financial institutions and financial service providers on federal and state matters relating to mortgage lending and mortgage servicing, valuation, and other consumer lending issues as part of her national regulatory compliance and enforcement practice.
