Dan Sugg has spent over 28 years in the mortgage industry, filling every role from loan officer to President. Dan started his career with GMAC Mortgage in 1997, and he has worked in both large banks, credit unions and independent mortgage companies. Dan currently serves as Chief Mortgage Lending Officer for Michigan First Credit Union. In this role, Dan oversees all aspects of the mortgage division. Dan joined Michigan First Credit Union in late 2016 and has led the purchase and integration of Michigan First Mortgage (a CUSO) into Michigan First Mortgage, now a division of Michigan First Credit Union. Dan has been very active in the Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association (MMLA) for many years including filling the presidency role in 2007. Dan has been very active in the Mortgage Banker Association (MBA), currently serving on the residential board of governors (RESBOG). He also currently serves co-chair credit union advisory board for Freddie Mac and an advisory board member forLenders One, a mortgage collaborative. In the past, Dan served as the co-chair MBA’s CU network, 6 years as a CU: REALM Advisory board and proudly attained his Certified Mortgage Banking designation (CMB) in 2009.

As the Chief Risk Officer at Servbank, Shayna is responsible for overseeing the Bank’s Risk and Compliance Management Programs. This includes oversight of legal and regulatory compliance, risk assessments, change management, policies and procedures, quality control, risk and compliance testing, examinations, and consumer complaint management. Shayna previously served as the Chief Compliance Officer at The Money Source Inc. (TMS) for over 6 years, where she was responsible for compliance across all business channels, including Correspondent, Servicing, Subservicing, and formerly the company’s Retail and Wholesale Origination Channels. Shayna previously worked at a mortgage banking focused law firm where she served as outside compliance counsel to a variety of lenders, servicers, and industry vendors. She has extensive government and regulatory experience, including time at the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Justice. In 2017, Shayna was named to HousingWire’s Women of Influence, which recognizes the outstanding efforts of women in housing. In 2020, she was selected as one of National Mortgage Professional’s 40 under 40 Influential Achievers. Most recently, she was named as a 2022 Five Star Women in Housing finalist for the Authentic Leader Award.
Mr. Battany is the Executive Vice President of Capital Markets for Guild Mortgage Company. He oversees the firm’s capital market activities, including pricing, hedging, and secondary market execution. He’s also responsible for Guild’s credit policy, shipping, and product development functions. Mr. Battany manages investor relationships with GSEs, government agencies, and private investors. Prior to joining Guild, Mr. Battany was Chief Product Strategist for Penny Mac from 2012 to 2015, where he was responsible for managing the product development group, as well as its relationships with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA, Ginnie Mae, and mortgage insurance companies. From 1990 to 2012, Mr. Battany was with Fannie Mae, based in Pasadena, California where he served as Director of Single-Family Business and was responsible for managing the firm's relationships with west coast based lenders. Mr. Battany began his career in 1986 with First Interstate Bank of California, where he traded and hedged the bank's mortgage production. Mr. Battany is a member of the MBA’s Residential Board of Governors and is a member of the MBA’s Affordable Housing Advisory Committee. He was the previous chairman of the MBA’s Secondary and Capital Markets Committee, the MBA’s Residential Production Committee, and Co-Chair of the MBA’s Affordable Housing Advisory Committee. Mr. Battany is presently the Co-Chair of the National Housing Conference’s Black Homeownership Collaborative’s Credit and Lending Workstream Committee. He was previously a board member of the California MBA, Habitat for Humanity, and Rebuilding Together. Mr. Battany graduated from the University of Colorado's school of Business Administration with a BS degree in Finance.
