Fernando C. Rivera-Maissonet

Fernando Rivera-Maissonet is a partner in the firm's Consumer Financial Services practice group, where he counsels and represents financial institutions on consumer finance litigation, and claims brought by government agencies. With over a decade of experience, he defends financial institutions in claims based on consumer protection statutes such as the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), New York General Business Law § 349, and New York Banking Law §§ 6-l and 6-m. Fernando serves on the New York City Bar Association's Consumer Affairs committee and has been recognized as a 2025 New York Metro Super Lawyers Rising Star and 2024 Top Lawyer Under 40 by the Hispanic National Bar Association.
